Meet the Business Owner

Mike S.

Business Owner

Mike bought the Fort Collins store in 2005, but got into the computer biz in 1979.

After college he spent 6 years as a Systems Analyst for 2 oil companies. He spent most of that time programming, designing databases and applications, and teaching others how to use computers. Early on he bought his first computer, an Apple II+. Moving to Illinois, he spent 3 years working for a database company running their helpdesk, and another 3 years doing other IT jobs, including a stint as an independent consultant.

Eventually he got hired at Fermi National Accelerator Lab, remaining there for 15 years. Moving between several IT departments internally, he spent time as Helpdesk Group Leader, Project Manager, Unix Sysadmin, Computer Ops Manager, and Assets & Contracts Manager.

Taking over as store owner allowed him to add his years of customer support and programming experience to their already great service department. Meanwhile his techs taught him all about Windows-​based hardware.
