Meet the Business Owner

Mark L.

Business Owner

Mark started as an English, speech, journalism and theater high school teacher in Iowa, and later taught in Colorado. Exploring nature was always a passion for Mark. «Moving from Iowa to Colorado was like putting a kid in a candy shop. I spent as much time as I could in the mountains, and my camera was always by my side. The photo opportunities in Colorado seemed endless.» This passion for photography made Mark’s transition to photo lab owner a natural fit.

Mark’s leadership role in the photo industry has led him in many directions. In 1994, he spearheaded the founding of the North American Nature Photography Association (NANPA) and became its first president. In 2005, he worked with Larry Padgett to form The Center for Fine Art Photography and became its first president as well. And, working with the International League of Conservation Photographers from its inception, Mark is one of three board members of the iLCP.
