Simply the coolest house you can rent on the Russian River. Hands down. 3 big bedrooms with wood floors, nice beds, amazing amenities, GORGEOUS views, sweet outdoor dining patio that floats above the river for incredible dinner and breakfast views. Nice flat panel TV and wifi internet that works all over. The house is incredibly decorated and furnished. Kitchen is all high end stuff with fully stocked cabinets for anything you may want to cook. Really cool backyard path down the hillside that winds to your own little mini dock on the water. They have tons of water toys and floaties so you can just play around in the water right there in front of your cabin. Tons of people stream by as there is a tour company selling flotation toys at the north end of the river and folks cruise down past you all day. You can fully stand up in some parts of the river in the middle, pretty neat. Pretty expensive, if you are military you can save a few bucks. Load up 6 – 8 friends to help fray the cost and it will be worth it guaranteed. Right up the road are some great wineries, Twomey was our favorite. We will be back here for sure.

We stayed at Nick’s Nest for the long weekend and had a great time. It was like a home away from home — if your home was featured in a shelter magazine. The house is beautifully furnished with everything you could possibly want. Matt has obviously put a lot of care into every detail of the house. The pictures of the house on their website don’t do it justice. It has a beautiful wrap around deck where I read in the mornings. Sitting on the lounger I listened to the sound of the birds and the river, sipping my coffee, and snuggled under a mohair blanket. It was heavenly. At happy hour we had wine from a local winery and watched the paddlers go by. In the evening, we ate outside at the table that seats 6. It was literally an extension of the living room with floor to ceiling windows. They also have quite a few humming birds there. Watching them made doing dishes tolerable(they have a dishwasher though). Some major differences between this and other vacation rentals. — When I rent a condo I pack a spice kit for cooking. This time I didn’t need it! They had everything that I needed and much, much more. It borders on being fully stocked. — When my boyfriend got road rash while cycling(great cycling in the area, btw) they had a fully stocked *large* first aid kit. Not the little pack of small band-aids that you *might* get in other condos. — I spilled something on my shirt. Viola! Laundry detergent — the good stuff. — Hi end furnishings. A great blend of Mid Century Modern and newer pieces. Definitely not the usual condo grade furniture. I would definitely recommend this for those difficult to please people. I’ll be staying there again!
