Platinum Dental Care

My family has been seeing Dr. Beeson for years. She is so nice and very knowledgable. The office staff and hygienists are extremely nice too. Appointments always run on time, which is a huge thing for me. We also take our two small children here. The kids do cry but everyone is very patient and calm with them and they LOVE the treasure chest where they get to pick a toy after each visit. Only minus would be that it’s hard to schedule an appointment for all of us on the same day, but that’s expected as we can only come in the evening after work.

I practically live here because I have such bad teeth, as much as I hate going to the dentist– Dr. Beeson and her staff are extremely sweet and personable it’s hard to not like them. I love that this place close to home, cute little stores, and I enjoy the fact that I am supporting a local business as well.

The worst dental experience of my life. The dentist is friendly and nice but incompetent. Got 9 fillings within less than a week (a no-no…but pays well I guess) some of which had to be redone as the dentist drilled too close to the nerve and put in inadequate filling material or barrier between the pulp. OUCH.
One tooth she worked on necessitated revision and an emergency root canal from another, way more qualified dentist.
I have never had so much pain… and I had zero pain at all prior to visiting here. I am currently under the care of a much better dentist but am having to pay thousands out of pocket. Marlene Beeson screwed up my teeth, period. She also screwed up one of my elderly dad’s teeth: I found out that he had silently suffered pain for MONTHS from a filling Beeson did. That is not supposed to happen.
I note in closing the blood curdling screams of a child. When I was waiting to get worked on by this butcher, a child was getting work done. These were not normal screams, these were screams of agony produced by pain caused by the bungling hands of someone who should have their license revoked.
I have filed a grievance with my insurance company.
Avoid this place unless you enjoy searing pain that lasts for weeks and months.
I have lost 7 pounds since it’s so hard to eat now.
Shame on you, Platinum Dental. My family and friends will never go back.

And I’m about an hour removed from a root canal, if that helps you understand how fantastic the service is. The trains run on time here (i.e., I didn’t have to wait around to see the dentist), and they are super nice and know what they’re doing.
I wish there was a sixth star.

I came here for treatment as well as primary care. Had some fillings done. Store is clean and very bright. Staff are excellent. The dentist is also excellent. Treatment is tolerable too. The dentist let me wear my head phones and listen to music during my cavity treatments. The dentist had good recommendations for tooth brushes etc.
There are no parking spots outside. They can give you an idea how much insurance will cover so definitely take advantage of that and educate yourself.
They had a credit for me but I figured that on my own after i moved out of state. They were good about sending it to me by mail.
Definitely worth coming here to see this excellent dentist and her staff. Thanks so much to this clinic!

Dr. Beeson is one of the nicest people I know and a very talented dentist. Dr. Beeson and her staff are wonderful with adults AND KIDS. We have been patients for a long time and have loved it but had hesitated taking our kids because of a bad experience at another children’s dentist in Hinsdale. Well, our kids did great and my son even said it «tickled» (yep, you read that right, «tickeled.»). My daughter thought Dr. Beeson was Rapunzel which helped too. Another tip is to show the kiddos a video about the dentist on YouTube (there’s one with a tooth describing a dental office visit).
As always, you guys rocked it! Thank you for putting us and our kiddos at ease, they’re not scared anymore (the goody bag and treasure chest helped too!).

I actually liked the dentist and the hygienist were ok but the receptionist staff (Annie) is the worst. They don’t know how to bill and I second the review about shady cancellation fees. It really sucks to find another dentist because like I said, the dentist was pleasant, but billing insurance shouldn’t fall on the patient! Be weary if you don’t have the money to pay erroneous bills or want to do more than normally necessary to bill insurance. If you have the patience to deal with it then the dentist is worth it. Updated equipment. Pleasant dentist & hygienist.

I’ve been going here for a few years now and haven’t had much to complain about. If you’re looking for a modern, tech savvy dentist Dr. Beeson is for you.

I have been going to Platinum Dental Care for about three years, and I have to say Dr. Beeson makes what is typically a very unpleasant experience quite pleasant. Dr. Beeson takes the time to answer any questions and allay any concerns that I have. She has a great «bedside» manner, and the atmosphere in the office is a very pleasant one. I would highly recommend Platinum Dental Care to anyone looking for a new dentist.

I should preface this by saying that I absolutely HATE going to the dentist. It was always a form of pure torture for me growing up (although now that I’m entering older age, I cannot thank my mother for enough for dragging us there every six months like clockwork) and something I pretty much dreaded twice a year. I always wanted to attack my mother when she would smugly announce that I had a dentist appointment coming up.
I’ve been through it all. A palate expander, headgear, braces… But the thing I found most torturous was the incessant and rough scraping of my teeth with that horrible, medieval instrument during the routine dental cleaning.
I went to the same dentist most of my life in Virginia where I grew up and ended up having kind of a crush on him so even though I lived in Chicago, New York and Los Angeles, I’d still schedule my dentist appointments around trips home but when those became few and far between (and I didn’t go to any dentist at all for almost 3 years) I decided I would have to begin the terrifying task of finding a new dentist. My regular guy knew to use warm water on me since my teeth are so sensitive and I feared noone else would care about my delicate chompers.
I’m pretty lazy, so I like local stuff. When this dental office opened up like 3 minutes from my abode, I heard positive things about it word of mouth so I decided to make an appointment, at least for a cleaning and if I liked it, I reckoned I’d stay.
The difference between a cleaning here vs my old dentist was like night and day. First of all, Dr. Beeson did most of it whereas before, the hygienist (sp?), Nurse Diesel as we called her, did most of it, always letting that stupid sharp scraping instrument slip and stab me in the gums. Dr. Beeson barely used it at all and instead used the alternative tool, whatever it’s called. Cavitron maybe? I still hate the feeling of my teeth being scraped but I didn’t feel much actual pain here. Hooray for no pain! Her «cavity search» (if you will) was much quicker and less suspenseful than I’m used to which was nice. Oh, and she kept complimenting me on how nice my teeth were and to keep doing whatever I was doing which was super nice. I can’t say I’d heard that many times before.
So I think the only part the assistant handled was flossing and polishing which is always pretty uneventful, even with Nurse Diesel.
I’ve had one filling replaced which was fine but an article I read about redheads needing more novocaine is totally true! It took me FOREVER to feel numb, and even then it didn’t seem as numb as it had in the past. I definitely felt that drill. Next time I’ll request a heavier dose.
My husband (who did not have the childhood dental «luxury» that my siblings and I were blessed with) has had root canals and crowns done with Dr. Beeson that have gone okay I guess. He’s survived them and that’s a good sign, yah?
I love her appointment reminder cards. There’s a tooth shaped sticker that peels off that you can affix to a prominantly located surface.

Platinum Dental Care is the friendliest and least intimidating dentist office I’ve ever been to! Dr. Beeson and her staff do everything in their power to make visiting the dentist a comfortable and pleasant experience. They all take great care in explaining everything that they are doing and why, which I really appreciate. The staff are great about making sure you’re informed about the costs and options for future treatments, and give you a printout with all the information to take home. They have evening and weekend hours available, and even call you with appointment reminders. I highly recommend Platinum Dental — for its pleasant atmosphere, welcoming and knowledgeable staff, and level of concern shown to each patient.

Dr. Beeson was amazing! I’m a super busy grad student, and she was able to squeeze me in as a new pt a week or so ago when needed to make an appt for a toothache. She’s also very knowledgable and even went through my xrays with me on her computer. As long as I am in the area, she will be the only dentist I ever go to. I also really liked the chapstick I got to take home too, it’s a really cute idea :)

I have to say Dr. Beeson is the best dentist I have ever seen. It had been a while since my last appointment with a dentist (about 2 years) because the one I used to go to would only work one Saturday a month and closed at like 3 and who wants to take a whole day off of work to go to a dentist appointment?!? The hours of Dr. Beeson are sooo flexible it was easy and simple to make an appointment. Well part of staying away from the dentist is that i had a few cavities show up and she was sooo great and talking me where the issues were and what to do to try and fix this in the future. And when I went for my first filling it was smooth and virtually painless. They numbed me really good before giving me Novocaine so i only felt about 4 seconds of pinch. And they were great at giving me enough to last the whole appointment and then some. I would 100% recommend Dr. Beeson she is so knowledgeable and friendly she made the experience very relaxing. :)

The new doctor is wonderful! All the staff are so nice and professional. It is a small area and wish they had doors so we don’t have to hear all the instruments but it is so welcoming. She does a great job and makes sure you are not in any pain. Overall such a nice place and will be my dentist while I live in Forest Park.

Dr. Beeson and the staff at Platinum Dental Care is WONDERFUL. From the moment I walked in the door, everyone was SO friendly! I HATE going to the dentist but Dr. Beeson went really out of her way to make sure I felt at ease. She really took the time to explain everything to me and to make sure that I understood what she was doing. I also had a bit of a «minor» crisis where a cap on on one of my front teeth had stained. I was VERY self-​conscious about it and was getting married in a week. Instead of having me come back for another appointment (which I would not have been able to to before my wedding), Dr. Beeson took extra time to work on the cap and made it look great and never once made me feel like I was inconveniencing her.
Another thing I really liked is that, after putting together my «treatment plan», they provided me with a complete breakdown of my out-​of-​pocket costs and let me decide what treatments to have and when. There was no pressure to do ANYTHING (even fill my cavities). It was really nice to know what everything was going to cost up front.
I definitely recommend Platinum dental. Going to the dentist isn’t fun, but these guys really go out of their way to try to make it as easy as possible.

Dr. Kamra is gone but that’s okay, because I really liked seeing Dr. Beeson today. She educated you as she explains your examination, and is very thorough. Plus it was nice having a neck pillow while my cleaning was done. :-)

I really have nothing more to add from what Erin said. My first visit was today, and happily Dr. Beeson is young, so she can be my dentist for a long time. Everyone was super nice, nothing hurt, and they even have pillows and blankets for your comfort. At the end of the visit I got an easy to read plan of action, with line items and actual prices (pay attention Central Dental). I know how much my crown will be out of pocket and from insurance, how long it will take to get, and most importantly, why I need a crown instead of a filling. They even offered quarters for the metered parking next to the building, but there is free street parking too. Thank you!

Dr. Atima Kamra is young and fun. She impressed me by saying (and proving) that money isn’t everything and helping people is still important. She works with you.
All dentists say they are painless (ha) but she tries to keep the fear factor low by being relaxed and talking to you like a person.
