Park District of Forest Park

They always have a lot of activities for kids and adults here. I even attended a rummage sale. I miss the annual fireworks, but highly suggest people with kids go here.

This is for the pool– It’s a great pool area. Zero depth. Splash Pad, Slides, Diving Boards and more. I wish this weren’t such a popular spot, but it is, and we’ll share. The changing room could be better if they had another baby changing station and better covered changing area for us modest gals :)

Not exactly bad, But the 4^th of July Fireworks was a pretty big disappointment. There were seemingly less food stands this year. Or is it from the budget BS…
Yet nevertheless, It can be a fun place to meet friends, family, etc. When this event occurs.
P. S.: I think the recent decision to cancel the fireworks show was REAL unwise & politically risky, Because a lot of revenue will be lost.

One of the best kept secrets in the area!
The Park District of Forest Park and Aquatic Center is located a few blocks west of the Ferrara Pan Candy Factory right off of 290. It is an oasis of pure awesomeness.
This park district has everything. They have a fabulous well maintained playground, walking circuit, softball, baseball, soccer field, skate park, and administrative building where you can enroll in summer camp and other fun classes.
What really makes this park district shine is their Aquatic Center. Their aquatic center surpasses the pools available in neighboring Oak Park and Chicago. It literally is the coolest outdoor water park that you can take your kids to without driving 30 – 90 away from Chicago.
The water park is huge! It features 2 giant slides, 2 drop slides, a water playground, a spray ground, and a sand play area. They also feature a concession stand. It totally rocks!
I have to admit that I enjoyed this park as much as my son. It brought me back to being a kid again. The smell of chlorine water and cocoa butter makes me happy. I literally wanted to pee with joy when I saw that their concession stand sold Sprees, 2 foot Flavor Ice, and licorice ropes! The food is actually very good here. And it’s cheap, so kids can actually afford to buy something with their allowance. We purchased a personal pan pizza, flavor ice, hot dog, fries, and a drink for only $ 8.
Daily admission is only $ 3 for kids 3 – 5, 5 – 17 cost $ 7.25, and adults $ 9.25. Totally worth it to purchase a family pass for $ 200.
The pool is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day weather permitting.
