Just terrible. Paid for snow removal in advance. Was supposed to show up within two hours of snow. I was lucky if he showed up within two days of the snow and he did a terrible job when he did show up. Does not respond or follow through.

Do not use this company for any services. Devonta is quick to ask for his money and slow — or completely negligent, as was our case — with performing any tasks. We hired him for snow removal, and during a recent snowfall, despite his numerous texts that he would be there in «20 minutes» — neither he or his representative ever showed. Ever. Eventually he stopped responding to texts and still never showed. Thankfully we paid through PayPal who was able to refund our money, despite Devonta’s failure to respond to them. There are hardworking people out there who care about their business and doing right by their customers. Devonta and Jack of All Trades is not one of them. Look elsewhere.

I called Jack of All Trades at the last minute for a small job. The price was less than 4 other companies I called. On the day of the move things started to fall apart on my end. Jack of All Trades was very helpful and patient with me, I had to change the drop off location several times and needed help disposing of some items — these guys helped me every step of the way. This would not have been a successful move with them :) Thank you Jack of All Trades.

DONOT, I repeat, DONOT use this company under ANYCIRCUMSTANCES. I called«Devonta» a few weeks out and made a reservation for September 1st at 10:30 to help me move from the southside to the northside. He emailed me to confirm a few days before, which I found reassuring. However, 10:30 on the first rolls around, and they aren’t at my house. I wait about 10 minutes and then call: «Oh, our first job ran late, we’ll be on our way soon.» «When will you be here?» I ask. «I’ll put it in the GPS and call you back.» Ok… wait 10 minutes, no call back. I call him. «We’ll be there by 11:30.» Ok… except that 11:30 comes and goes and they haven’t arrived. I call again. «We should be there by 12.» 12:30 comes and goes, they aren’t there. I call again. He says, «I can’t find the truck. I have to get the other one. If we can come this afternoon, I’ll charge you half price.» «Ok, what time?» «3:00.» Fine. Except that 3:00 comes and goes – surprise surprise, they aren’t there. I was already upset, but now I start to panic. I call. «We’ll be there by 3:30.» At 3:45 I started frantically calling other moving services to see if anyone did last minute emergency moves. After a bit I found something. Devonta had quoted me $ 250, fixed price. I ended up having to pay $ 700 for the last minute job. When I called Devonta to tell him not to come, he didn’t answer. I left a message, and sent a text message. He didn’t reply to either. As far as I’m concerned, he owes me $ 450 – the difference I had to pay. Throughout this, he never called me to tell me he would be late or keep me updated – I always called or texted him, sometimes multiple times before I got a response. This was the most stressful moving day EVER, and I am absolutely appalled by his behavior. My friends have told me I was silly for booking a mover off of Craigslist, but I thought with the Unilocal reviews and their own website they seemed legit. WRONG. Dead wrong. Please, save yourself the stress and go somewhere else. Another odd thing: when I first booked him, he had 4 Unilocal reviews. 3 were positive, one was negative. I asked him about the negative one, in which the person said they had damaged his property and refused to pay. Devonta said that wasn’t true, and the person was upset because he had had more to move than he initially said, and so the cost was higher than the quote. The next day, the bad review was no longer on Unilocal(and it still isn’t). Not sure how that happened. This is an AWFUL, unprofessional company. I don’t even know if it’s a company, just one person screwing up people’s moves. I want my $ 450. And I will be notifying the Better Business Bureau as well.

These guys rain or shine do a good job. It started pouring in the middle of my move with them and they sped up to take precaution and care of my things. They brought their own van and moving pads and worked out a deal with me that saved my day. All with a smile to boot. Thank you for making my move to Chicago a good one.

If you are moving and are looking for good rates, you can’t beat the price and service. These guys are hard workers, honest and they really know how to pack a van/truck. I had a 4 bedroom, 2500+ square foot apartment and they moved my stuff in less time and $ and man power than when I moved in. This was a BIG move and they literally saved me HUNDREDS of dollars. I will definately use them in the future and highly recommend Devon and his service to anyone looking to move. I do recommend when making an appointment, you give him plenty of notice, because he gets really busy.
