Deedee & Edee

So I have been shopping at Deedee & Edee for a very long time and can’t say enough good things about the owner, Deb, and her team. It is my «go to place» when I need an outfit for an upcoming event or vacation as I always walk out out with some great outfit that makes me happy… and that is saying a lot for someone who HATES to shop. The team is great at pulling items that I never would have thought to try on and typically there’s a gem among them. And the addition of the Sympli line just puts this boutique in the upper echelon compared to other boutiques in the area. If you haven’t gone there, then this is your opportunity to experience a different level of service and expertise!,

I almost always find something to love here, and even if I don’t they let me window shop without pressure or guilt. They do carry higher priced merch but they have sales from time to time. My friend found a pair of shoes here that she paid $ 185 for, and she still swears they were the best investment she’s made in years for comfy walking shoes. Their selection is small but well chosen for style and comfort. Nothing too wacky.
The store is pretty small and boutique-​y, limited sizes, but they do carry a combination of brands and their own custom designs. Of the latter, I recommend every woman invest in one of their surplice tops. It’s like a wrap dress but it’s a top. Each season, they intro the design in several fabrics. I finally broke down and bought one at full retail cost and have received numerous compliments. It’s extremely flattering to a mature curvy figure like mine. :-)
I will admit, the store doesn’t cater to young consumers in terms of designs or budget, but that’s ok cuz the malls have that covered! I’m just happy to have something close to home that has unique merchandise and quality European footwear. I can’t comment on the custom coat designs (the owner sews them) but it seems very cool to offer as a service.

I went into Deedee & Edee to purchase a dress for Easter. I am a larger size woman, and they had a delicate silk dress that came in one-​size-​fits-​all. I was concerned with the durability of the fabric, but the owners said that the dress looked great and had great reviews… and so I purchased it.
After I wore the dress for one day, the delicate seams split under the arms and all the way down the back. When I brought it back to the store a few weeks later, they said it was only good for store credit. The owner said «it just wasn’t the right fit for me,» although they had raved about the fit before I purchased it. The owner never told me what their return policy was and one of the owners even said she was going to repair it and put it back on the rack for sale! There were two of the same dress still for sale in the store, but the owner said it was too late to send it back to the manufacturer. Not ONLY did I lose my money, but they were going to make money off the dress AGAIN once it was repaired!
Being stuck with store credit, I was forced to buy something I was not enthused about, especially when I knew the durability and quality of their products were poor. I do not recommend Deedee & Edee or its products, but I was especially unhappy with the attitudes of the owners and their poor customer service.

For the over 65 crowd that wants still to look good, this is a wonderful store to shop in. I am so tired of skimpy tops and hemlines above the knee for us older folks. At Deedee & Edee I can almost always find something I really like and that makes me feel good. Yes, the prices tend to be higher, but you get some honest feedback on how you look (which amazon does not deliver!). You also get clothing that is made of either natural fabrics (cotton, silk, linen, wool) or the type of synthetics that feel good against the skin. I have no complaints at all about the service as I prefer to be left to my own devices until I have found something I like. In every case, someone immediately helped me knowledgeably when I called for assistance. By the way, their sales are fabulous! Perhaps my only difficulty is that some of their clothing loses its shape faster than I would like, which is probably attributable to the soft fabrics they use that are my favorites. Sigh…. Oh… the jewelry is beautiful and so are the shoes.

This is a great place for me to get gifts for my wife. Because the basic consistent design of many of their items, I don’t have to know how something is going to fit.
If I get drug in with my wife, they have great «overstuffed» chairs to make the time spent waiting tolerable.

On the upside, this store sells pretty unique fashionable clothes and footwear brands that are known to be higher end, comfortable, unique and come at a pretty hefty price. Not an issue, if it’s not your price point it’s okay to keep looking.
On the downside, I visited the store recently and was interested in several items. I agree the service is marginal to poor. It is imperative that local businesses, particularly retail, find a way not to run customers off. I felt almost the entire time I was in the store that I was being watched, as if I was suspect to steal merchandise. I really wanted one item but decided to return it to the shelf and others to the racks.
I do recognize the need to protect your merchandise but these sorts of experiences humiliate and drive customers to the internet where they are not profiled and retailers do not see faces and color, only money!
When as a customer you walk into a store and feel that every time you look up the owner or an employee is nearby not asking if you need help but pretending to tend to merchandise, there is a good probability you are being profiled.
I’m so glad to have other options.

I buy my complete wardrobe here. Everything I buy is unique and super fashionable! I get so many compliments on my tops, shoes and accessories you wouldn’t believe it. Friends know when jm wearing DeeDee&Edee bc the clothes are so fab.
Buying a cute purse there today! Only $ 80.00 and SOOOOO cute.

I had been researching a brand of boots that I like online (Miz Mooz) and saw that this store carried them. Perfect, I thought, a local shop right down the street. I went in with my sister in law fully inteding to buy a pair of boots. I fell in love with the first pair I saw but was a bit disappointed when I found out they were nearly $ 300. I told her, as much as I love them, I wasn’t prepared to spend that much. I then asked if she had anything similar… when she simply brushed me off and said «I don’t think so.» She didn’t even offer to show me anything else! If this wasn’t bad enough my sister in law was in love with 2 pairs of shoes but they did not carry them in her size… the sales women said «Oh sorry we only have those in an 8…» and then continued what she was doing. Again not offering to show her anything else! When I walk into a shop I expect great service, isn’t that what all these «mom and pop» shops are pushing? Why we should be shopping locally and not running to Amazon to buy everything WAY cheaper?
Oh I forgot to mention the part where the other sales women nearly ran us over with her broom while trying to sweep.
Needless to say… I did actually find the EXACT pair of boots on Amozon for $ 106… not $ 270. Sorry, I gave you a chance.

This place does have really cute stuff but it is WAY out of my price range. For the price you pay, you’d think it’d be quality stuff but as another review confirmed, that is not the case.
During Summerfest, they had this polka dot print dress hanging on a rack outside on clearance and I got that I HAVE TO HAVE IT feeling that I rarely get but when I do, it’s like a crack-​cocaine addiction. After walking by it about 30 times, my coworker decided she was going to buy it for me as some sort of gift, an early birthday or Christmas present or something. I went in and tried it on but unfortunately it was just barely too big. =(It was the only size they had. I truly was bummed about that.
I think the brand was Burlapp or something.
My mom was visiting from Virginia and is apparently obsessed with some fleece-​lined tights and she saw online that Deedee & Edee carries them so the very first time I ever went in was with her and because of that.

This is a wonderful shop and their selection is fantastic. Great shoes and a lovely selection of clothing. I wish that they carried more sizes of their own label because their aesthetic is really fabulous! The service I received was pleasant enough, though not overly wonderful. I will definitely add this shop to my list of favorites in the Oak Park area.

While I can’t say I’m a frequent shopper at Deedee and Edee, when I go there I typically have a positive experience and walk out with something: a top, a skirt, an accessory.
I’m at the age/​stage where the major department stores don’t cut it in terms of styles, unique offerings, etc. Plus there are other neat shops in the neighborhood that make the excursion (even though I’m basically in the general vicinity) worthwhile.

This place is what neighborhood boutique shopping is all about. I’ve always feel welcome here, whether I purchase or not. They even remember my name and styles I like. Again, I don’t buy every time I go, but they suggest clothing without pushing it. And some of my favorite pieces have come from this place. I may have spent a little more than I wanted to, but over the couple of years of owning them, they have paid for themselves.
They’ve made some staff changes since the first Unilocal posts, so I don’t think they are as relevant anymore. I think the styles are a wider range now and pieces you won’t see in the department stores. Fun to shop there. I say check them out.

Needing a place to escape to while Andy was across the street in Cigar heaven, I stopped in here. Its a small shop offering clothes, handbags, scarves and jewelry. The clothes range from cute & unique, to sleek & sophisticated, to «scary-​old-​lady-​trying-​to-​be-​hip» patterns. A very odd and diverse selection to be sure! The clothes are quite pricey with most things being in the $ 100-​$ 200 range.
But then there is the jewelry. They had some extremely beautiful pieces and everything from tiny, delicate floral earrings to huge, bright and fantastic cocktail rings. Prices ranged from around $ 15 to $ 150 for a stunner of a necklace that I am still trying to figure out how to afford. I normally hate new jewelry (I always shop vintage) but these were really great pieces.
The ladies working there were really nice and after asking me if I needed help, basically left me alone. It was the end of the day and they were joking around and rearranging the displays and so the whole atmosphere was very laid back and easy. I would definitely come back again, I have to visit my necklace!

I love shopping here. The staff is so much fun, and their suggestions of what I might like is always spot-​on. It’s like having several personal shoppers. They are always honest about what looks good on me, and if something isn’t flattering they always have an idea of what will work better. I used to shop at more cookie-​cutter stores, but since I started shopping here I hardly buy clothes anywhere else. I practically LIVE in the three (!) pair of Not Your Daughters Jeans I bought here.
