$ 40 for a full body massage. My masseuse was excellent, he paid attention to my tension areas and ensured I was comfortable throughout the whole massage. The whole salon is very warm which I like and the massage oil is washed down with a hot towel. Felt relaxed and comfortable! Will be back in 2 weeks. Clean all around.

So many negative reviews here but whatever it works for me. The massages are cheap and they have late hours. Sometimes after a long and stressful day you just need a massage to relax. The girls here I feel are never the same always get someone different. I’ve been here a lot already so it can be a hint or miss. I only come here because my best friend and I go together so of course I always say yes and go when she asks me. I guess I’ll keep on coming back until I decide not to be lazy and find somewhere else close by for cheap.
Rooms are separated by curtains so not really private at all. You can hear other people moaning and groaning lol
Also the girls will talk to each other back and forth through the curtains or answer their cell phone or walk away during the massage and you’re laying there to wonder umm are ya coming back anytime soon???
I’ve even had one person start and then leave for oh 5 mins or so and not say a word and someone else come in and finish and didn’t say a word to me. I just thought to myself there is no way those are the same hands and the technique is so different. I was like ok now who gets the tip at the end? Because there is no way that I’m tipping two people.
Yes I know so many things have gone wrong and I keep coming back. Lol but I will say the girls are nice even though their English is not great or even good at all. Customer service is important anyway!

I’ve got a gift certificate from my friend for their 75mins package with hot stone. Walked in last Saturday morning without an appointment and didn’t have to wait. The place is clean and surprisingly quite spacious inside. I requested for a male masseur since I have a lot of stress on my back and soft Swedish massage never works for me. The massage went on very strong as expected but at the same times it didn’t hurt! I would say this is the best massage I ever had compared to those experiences in Manhattan. Will definitely be back!

I’ve been here a few times and the massages I’ve received have been consistently good. The place is clean, the people who work there always been polite and respectful to me, and I’ve never had to wait. My complaint is that you really don’t have much privacy and you can hear the sounds of the staff talking to one another, timers beeping, etc. Today, most disturbingly, I could hear a man in the next stall (I assume that’s what you would call the sectioned-​off areas) old enough to be my father’s father trying to mack on his masseuse, who was clearly not interested at all. Apparently, «Lee» wanted some «tender loving care» from «Lucy Liu» who apparently «just got [her] hair done.» :gags:

First the prices are good I got 30 minutes for $ 25. I was not happy with the massage, the massage was not so relaxing. At some points of the massage I got tense. The person doing the massage did not ask how hard I wanted the massage the person went a little hard for me I had to tell him a couple of time to do it a bit softer. Lucky I decided for the half hour massage. Because I think It was a waste of money. I need to find the best massage place.
I had 5 minutes chair massages from a LMT that were relaxing. I was wondering did this people went to massage therapy school? Do they even have their LMT? I am thinking possibly not. The should go to school study massage therapy. (Quensborough Community College has massage therapy if you were wondering where to go also there are other places to go to get your massage therapy degree.)

I’ve been back to Sunny Island a few times now, and I am a fan (hence the 4 stars). A friend had to talk me into trying hot stone, which comes free with any massage of an hour or more. Since I wanted the 60 min back + 15 min foot (total: $ 50), I said, sure. Now my «usual» is 75 minutes with hot stone.
The comments below are in response to a couple of specific, older reviews. I don’t know why we (the reviewers) have had such different experiences. Maybe they (at Sunny Island) have gotten better over time?
They offer a discount card: after 10 times, a free massage. I haven’t reached the 10^th time yet, but have no doubt I will. The name of the masseuse I had the time I got the card was written on the back, J, and I’ve had her pretty much every time since. As in, the lady at the desk asked me if I wanted the same person again. Of course I did: J has strong hands, and is responsive to my feedback (stronger here, softer there, a little longer on my neck, etc).
It’s been mentioned on Unilocal that the same owners have another spa a couple of blocks away. I’ve been there too. The massages weren’t as strong, and the accoutrements weren’t much different, yet the prices were at least $ 10+, and hot stone was not included.
Also, there were signs at the other location asking for at least a 20% tip. I don’t recall seeing such signs at Sunny Island. I have never had negative feedback on the amount I chose to tip, usually about 20% (though this last time I gave 25% because in 90 mins + hot stone, J managed to realign something in my back that had been out of whack and hurting for days).

Went here with the boyfriend this past weekend. We both travel a lot for work and spend nights in random hotels (some with crappy beds) so after a week of traveling we decided to treat ourselves to an hour massage. We had never been to Sunny Island before, and honestly weren’t expecting much for a $ 40 massage in Queens, but we were pleasantly surprised.
This massage parlor reminds me of the massage houses in Thailand. It’s just one huge room with curtains separating the areas of massage. My boyfriend and I were given adjoining rooms. He had a female masseuse and I had a male masseuse named Michael. He was awesome, btw. Since there are no walls, we could hear other people getting massages as well, but honestly, that didn’t bother me at all.
My massage was phenomenal. Michael listened to what I had asked for. I said I like firm massages, and to focus on my back and shoulders. He worked out all the knots, and then rubbed my back with oil and finished it off with a hot towel. It was great.
My boyfriend had a small Asian woman– I don’t remember her name. He lives on the Upper West Side and has gotten many massages in NYC, but he said that this one was one of the best. There are some bars above the massage beds, and apparently she used them and walked all over his back. He left the massage parlor on cloud 9 with a grin from ear to ear.
Honestly, this place isn’t fancy schmancy at all. But for 40 bucks you can’t go wrong. We tipped them $ 15 each and they seemed to be satisfied. A total of 55 dollars for a 1 hour massage is completely reasonable in my book. I will definitely be coming back.

One star is way too much for this place!!! Prices at this place may be attractive but totally not worth it for the services you receive (or not). My friend gave me a gift certificate from this place, when I tried to use the certificate they told me that my friend did not pay for it! Then why would you give a signed certificate to a person who did not pay for it? After I asked to see the video, which during my phone conversation they said is available, when I came to the place the video suddenly became unavailable. The place is simply ran by money-​hungry liars who don’t care about you or providing you with quality services that you pay for! Stay away! It’s not the only place in the neighborhood.

I usually get a combination of a foot massage and a back massage however during my experiences here they were enjoying and relaxing. They are very proffesional here and know what they’re doing. I would recommend this place especially for the price that we pay is what you get. Totally better then Chinatown flushing hands down!

Please stay away as they do some really shady business by being manipulative! I completely understand now how one of the reviewers from before rated this place a one star as Grace, one of the owners, had the nerve to tell me how I should leave 25% tip after one of my sessions and I agree with that reviewer that they are far from being a classy establishment with really a disgusting practice space. At another time she actually tells me to shut up, which will be explained later on. But point being, you should expect to go to a relaxing environment and not a gross one with bad smelling massage oils and non soothing music. Really a bad sign when you hear other people get massages and the massage therapists talk to each other through the partially opened walls. But here’s the shady part below.
I have gone a total of about 12 times to them, but I certainly do not want to go to them anymore. I have had about 14 years of various bodywork therapies done on me and my first impression of place was that they were not as great as some of the practitioners I have had before, but considering I was a student on a low budget, they were pretty good for the price I can afford. Paying $ 45 for one hour massage for slightly above average massage technique in the nyc area seemed like a good idea at the time. However, whenever I had found a massage therapist I liked, and asked for that person the next time, they always told me how they are not working there anymore. I know after having 14 years of bodywork therapies, you need to stick with one person that works for your body for a long time in order to see real long term benefits. Usually, I would never see anyone more than once or twice at this place as their massage therapists last for maybe about a couple of weeks. You pretty much get your money’s worth. After the first 2 or 3 people, I thought it was just a fluke with those specific people leaving, but I have now gone through 8 different people in the 12 times I have gone to them. Though this bothered me for awhile, I was really bothered when one of the owners named Grace had started to massage me after I told her I wanted someone with strong hands like one of the massage therapists that was there before, and she started to massage me for about 10 minutes, which felt great at first. But then she got someone else instead who wasn’t as good to massage me for the rest of the session, WTF! That is just no way to give good bodywork to a receiver when you expect a massage to go a certain way, but then all that chi energy put in initially gets destroyed when someone else comes in and massages you a different way. I still came back one day since I did like Grace’s work, and figured she was going to be there for awhile since she is one of the owners and I was still on a budget, but she said she was busy so I said I would come back tomorrow. But then she said to wait and leads me to a room leading me to believe she was going to work on me, but instead, she gets someone else instead. I showed my annoyance since she kinda tricked me to thinking that she would be doing bodywork on me. But she said to try the person she recommends. So I did since I came all that way. I did end up liking the person ok, but then no surprise she was not there when I asked for her the following week. Even when I expressed to Grace how every one of the therapists will leave after seeing them once or twice, she had assured me how that the last person I had seen was there for awhile, though she wasn’t there the next week I asked for her. The constant change of the massage therapists after going through 5 or 6 people just bothered me so much, but I tried one more massage since I was entitled to a free massage after having all the stamps for my loyalty card filled up. Though I really liked the person I had my last massage there from, it was the last straw there when Grace had overcharged me for the remaining minutes after I had claimed the free hour of massage, which I didn’t realize until coming home afterwards. I went back there the next day, saying how the price was calculated wrong to Grace, and she kept making up some sort of excuse on how she had charged me; and she kept changing the price saying one minute how a one hour massage was $ 45, but then quickly changes it by saying how it’s $ 40 just so she can avoid admitting to the miscalculation. She is just one really, really manipulative woman, and then in front of me explains to the co-​owner about the situation in Chinese, and when I try to say something, she tells me to ‘shut up’! The co-​owner actually refunds me what should have been owed to me, but it was obvious how she had tried to avoid giving the refund in any way possible. I tried explaining to the co-​owner how she really conducts business poorly and he just does not listen to me and ends up yelling at me to leave.
Lesson here: find a real massage therapist who will actually treat the way your body, mind, and soul deserve.

Best Place Ever
I tried to get a massage at least ones a week and after a very stress full day I can believe how good they make me feel…
all the Stress from my job seem to melt away
everyone is very friendly and the price is right

I went in June. Hands down AWESOME! The only reason there are not 5 stars is because I wish I had my own room versus the partial wall and curtain partitions. Still, this was better than the $ 80-​$ 110 deep tissue massages I have gotten anywhere in Miami or NYC.
If you have a tough back, meaning so many knots your spouse won’t even try to help you, book the deep tissue/​hot stone therapy combo for one hour = $ 50. Book it with Mr. Lee as he is amazing and not creepy at all when he breaks up tension in your upper quads and tush! Also, I’m pretty sensitive to people’s energies and you won’t leave here feeling icky.
FYI Tell the receptionist in advanced if you don’t want any areas touched or worked on.

Nice and quiet place. The massage Therapist is professional. I had pain on my lower back and shoulder, I just give a try, and they fixed me. Great technique! Reasonable price.

First time. One hour foot massage $ 30. Totally worth it. Cindy was great.
Place is a bit old, newer place by same owners (WonderSpa) around corner is much newer but they charge $ 40 for the one hour foot work, not $ 30. However, very relaxing. Time flew by.

Stay away.
The asian women at Sunny Island had the audacity to ask for a 25% tip on their services (1 hour massage) after I left them a healthy 20% tip, in cash. She whined that since it was an hour, she deserved at least $ 10.
First– this is not a classy establishment. Their ‘massages’ were mediocre at best, and their practices were quite disgusting. She went from massaging my legs, to my head/​hair, to touching my face… WHAT THE F? I was cringing.
This has completely turned me off from massages. Good riddance.

YESTERDAY, MONDAY, I CAME IN AT 8:15 PM AND THEY TURNED MY BUSINESS DOWN BECAUSE THEY SAID «PEOPLE WORKING, TOO LATE» MIND YOU THEY CLOSE AT 10:30 PM!!!
Yes I assumed people are working in the establishment, I hope they are working because I will be paying 60 dollars for an hour of massage, I expect them to freaking work! I have been in this place approximately 5 times before and I was never treated this way, nor have me turned away TWO HOURS before closing time!
Last time I was here it was nice, but WTF happened? You suddenly became popular and you start slacking on customer service???
I will never come back.

This place is awesome. Let me first start off by saying that i work for a shipping company, so i lift heavy boxes daily. Every so often, my back will ache from the workload. I’ve tried a few different massage places but either they weren’t very effective at relieving me of pain or they were too pricey to do on a regular basis. Then i stumbled onto this place after having lunch with a friend in the neighborhood. It’s a little hard to spot from the main st as it’s off to the side down an alley, right next to game stop.
All i can say about my experience here is: Awesome! The price is very affordable ($ 40 for an hour) and the massage specialist i’ve encountered have been very helpful and kind. They always ask if they’re being too hard or too soft. If i tell them to spend an extra few moments on my shoulder or lower back they will do so. I always feel great afterwards, all the knots in my back from when i entered are gone, it feels like i had a brand new back put in!
i’ve only gone here for massage on my back so i can’t comment on how good they are with the hot stones or the footwork, but from the work they’ve done on my back i’ll assume they are great there as well. Oh, and if you go here ten times you get a free session, how awesome is that? I’ve got about 4 more sessions to go before my free trip.

I am thoroughly disappointed with this place. After a 70 dolllar massage, I offered the woman a 10 dollar tip! She just stood there demanding more! She was blatantly rude and unprofessional. She tried to dictate how much I should have tipped. There are a plethora of massage places in this area, ones who will value your business and actually provide a service that will be deserving of a tip. Never again will I go to this dinky, substandard hole in the wall. I advise you invest your money in better places
