Kung Fu Tea

I work next door and I love having such a fantastic boba tea place nearby. My personal favorite is anything taro flavored but their jasmine tea and peach tea is great. Fair prices and quick service. They even have a «how to order» poster for customers who are new to the drink. They have such an extensive list of options that it’s even helpful for an old pro like myself.

I had a good experience with the Kung fu tea in koreatown. I ordered the taro milk tea and it was on point. I tried the Kung fu green milk tea here and it was dissapointing. It just tastes funky.

This place is first of two KFTs I pass on my way to work, which is a blessing and a bane depending on how you look at it. I was planning to get the hot green milk tea (my absolute favorite) before I even left the house, but after seeing how nice the weather was, I thought fruit teas were the way to go.
I got a medium veryberry green tea, $ 3.50, and they still take credit cards with no minimum (yaaass)
Unfortunately, It wasn’t as good as I had hoped. It was more tart than sweet. There was a very strong strawberry/​raspberry flavor, which I’m not a fan of. There were also bits and pieces of berries at the bottom of the cup, which added to the tartness and I felt it overpowered the floral green tea. I wish it had more of a blueberry taste.
And even worse, I ended up dropping most of it and it exploded on the ground as I was transferring trains, so I didn’t get to thoroughly enjoy it and I was left with very sticky hands:(I’m clearly very emotionally attached to my tea lol

My favorite place to get bubble tea! The Oreo milk tea is pretty good, however the bubbles kind of get stuck to the bottom. I usually get the taro milk tea, but today I got the winter melon green milk tea and it was amazing! I think they put honey in it too! And the bubbles are really chewy!

Taiwanese Bubble Tea with or without Tapioca pearls or jelly finally arrives in Forest Hills, Queens. With fifteen minutes to segue from my Forest Hills arrival to my next destination, I opt for one medium cold Mango Green Tea $ 3.50. Staff is efficient, friendly, able, ready and willing to serve. Fresh ingredients and freshly prepared. This tea business is modern, bright, clean and specifically designed as a small takeout. It was newly opened in April 2013. Absolutely no seating is available and neither is a restroom facility.
Next to the cashier there is a fish bowl full of Hershey Kisses candy that is free and available for grabs.

I’m a bubble tea addict so of course this is five stars. That being said I don’t like coco tea or quickly but Kung fu tea and Gong cha are my two favourite chains.
I’ve been coming back every week and I will just say this shop knows their stuff! Boba is always fresh and milky and I love that their boba is super chewy and slightly sweet. If you’ve never had any before I’m sorry you haven’t lived a life lol

Overall everything is good and you have to drink it. Customizable options!

As a Kung Fu Tea fanatic, I’ve had my fair share of bubble tea from multiple branches. Majority of the time the drinks remain consistent, however, the one thing that sets this location apart is the consistency in the texture and flavor of their bubbles. The bubbles are never too soft, too hard or too sweet. It is perfect every time.
This is also the only branch in Queens that accepts credit card as a form of payment. WIN-​WIN.

Oolong Milk Tea done RIGHT.
This is by far my favorite Kung Fu Tea. Mind you, this judgement is based off one visit and one drink alone. I’ve been forever hooked on Oolong Milk Tea, and with Kung Fu Tea never being my favorite; today’s drink really hit the spot.
The girl working the register is friendly. There’s definitely a crowd here, but no long wait whatsoever. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. But back to my drank! I’m living the crappiest cold of 2015 thanks to my coworker, and my half alive soul totally forgot to ask for less sugar, but ended up pleasantly surprised. For once! Kung Fu Tea did not butcher a drink with loads of sugar. The hint of Oolong was spot on with just enough sugar and wasn’t overtly heavy with the cream/​milk.
I can’t say the same about all KFT locations, but I think I just fell in love with this one.

Love this place, I come everyday, don’t even have to say my order. It’s airways the usual large yogurt grapefruit. Good people.

Love this place only gave it four because sometimes the tapioca pearls are hard but I love this place nonetheless. So many seasonal drinks to try and they did a cute raffle for Halloween and I got a free upgrade!

Yummy!!! I’m not big of bubble tea or tapioca or what not, but the passion fruit green tea was delicious! I would definitely come back and order again.

Kong fu is great since you can always expect the same quality at every location. The staff is younger but always nice and very quick. Another star for their clean store and bathroom which I highly value. Always good tapioca.

Pretty laid back establishment. Come here maybe every other weekend and I’m pretty satisfied. The bubble tea is made to your order and the whole mechanism behind it is pretty astonishing. Prices are fair and they accept credit cards which is a big plus. One thing I kinda don’t like is I feel like they should get more employees. It tends to get busy from time to time and waiting 10 – 15 minutes for a bubble tea isn’t ideal. I usually get the grapefruit bubble greentea. Definitely worth checking out.

I am a tea lover, live in Rego Park and go to Lucille Roberts almost four times a week. No wonder, I stop by at this place every now and then. I love, love, love their teas. Especially the ones with bubbles. The recent being the Pineapple Sunshine Tea which is freaking awesome in this scorching sun. Pick any one and u’ll want to sip more!

Kung Fu tea is a spot that outshines many other bubble tea businesses. Their tapioca is always soft and chewy, their work stations look spotless, and they accept credit card! Many other places are cash only. The ingredients at Kung Fu tea also taste better. Their fruit teas and jelly are fantastic but they sometimes go overboard with the ice. I’m glad that there’s a bubble tea business like this in our neighborhood. They keep their appearance very clean unlike many other businesses on Austin St.

AHH, DO NOT ORDER THE BROWN SUGAR ALMOND MILK!
First of all, when I ordered this and pointed to the poster, the guy STILL had no idea what I was talking about.
For $ 4.50 it was clumpy (powder clumps), exTREMELY grainy and lukewarm. I had a sip and threw the rest out. It was pretty gross. AND the girl who seemed to know the drink made it, not the guy who had no idea what I ordered.
From now on I’ll stick to what I know, The Originals: Kung Fu Black Tea, Green Tea and the Wows. I’ll never venture from the norm again!

Kung Fu tea is everywhere. It’s like the Starbucks of bubble tea. And with that come the same advantages and disadvantages. The teas tend to be overpriced, which isn’t an uncommon problem for bubble tea places. Prices are increasing everywhere. The tea is also nothing spectacular as it is the same for every other restaurant or drinks establishment that develops into a chain.
What kung fu offers that most other places don’t is customization. For those of you who tend to think bubble tea is too sweet, there are less sugar, half, and little sugar options which equate to roughly 30%, 50%, or 70% less sugar. There’s also a no sugar option which probably tastes terrible. You can also customize the temperature of your drink using the less, little, or no ice options. The range of choices is refreshing (pun intended).
Other than that, it’s just another rather expensive but consistent bubble tea option.

I had a miscommunication with one of the bubble tea makers. I told him I would like my green milk bubble tea with Lactaid milk. He then proceeded to make Wow Milk instead. I told him about the mistake, and he called the franchise owner about it. The franchise owner was very nice and cleared things up for me. He told me they couldn’t make green milk tea with Lactaid, but he suggested a Wow Milk that’s mixed with tea (which is Lactose free milk mixed with Chai tea). I believe it’s called Chai Wow Milk. I told him I’ll try the Chai Wow Milk and he got the bubble tea maker to make it.
I’m happy someone is willing to do something right. Besides the mistake, he seems to be very informative about bubble tea to those who haven’t tried bubble tea before.

If you know your milk tea… this place is pretty meh.
They use lots of flavor and powders here which I try to avoid. The tea I got was also not hot enough.

After all these years, Kung Fu Tea is still my fav when it comes to bubble tea in the nyc area.
I’ve been spoiled by socal’s phenomenal bubble tea, and out of all the bubble tea places in NYC, Kung Fu is the best. Customized sweetness & ice level, Kung Fu is legit. Their tapioca/​boba is always on par, slightly sweet, chewy and not mushy. I love their oolong milk tea, the ‘tea’ flavor is a bit stronger. If you’re feeling a lil’ adventurous and you like matcha and red bean, give their matcha slush w/​red bean a try! a great drink on a hot day.
Kung Fu has close to 10 locations in nyc now. I can’t believe they opened a location at Forest Hills. I told my friend couple years ago FH would be an awesome location for a bubble tea place, but I guess Kung Fu beat her to it ;)
