— A partner of several agencies such as the NYC Employment and Training Coalition and the NYC Workforce Centers to increase job opportunities for program graduates
History
Established in 1999.
Emerging Technologies Institute (ETI) was founded to offer training in business and professional development, desktop applications, and information technology.
The first three years, ETI trained dislocated workers through the Workforce Investment Act.
In 2004, ETI began training corporate employees, where students enrolled at ETI received college credits from Pima Community College, through the ITCAP program.
In 2009, ETI began delivering distance learning in order to afford students the opportunity to acquire and improve their skills and knowledge at a pace convenient to their current lifestyles and commitments.
In 2011, ETI entered into an agreement with Queens College to train corporate employees.
ETI was approved by the Division of Veterans Affairs in May 2012, to train US veterans and other eligible persons under Chapter 36, Titles 38 & 10 of the US Code.
Over the past years, we have trained thousands of individuals, dislocated workers, as well as corporate employees.
Meet the Business Owner
Lyonel C.
Business Owner
Lyonel C. was born in Port-au-Prince, the capital of the Republic of Haiti. he grew up in that city where he attended the religious institution Petit Séminnaire College St. Martial in his early years. Later on, he completed his high school education at the renowned College Canado-Haitien.
Mr. Coriolan immigrated to the United States in 1978. He enrolled at SUNY Stony Brook from which he graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering and Applied Mathematics and Statistics.
Following his formal education, Mr. Coriolan joined Citigroup and then the NY Metropolitan Transit Authority in 1988 as an Electrical Engineer. Within a few years he was promoted to a managerial position where he was responsible of a team of 12 engineers and technicians.
By 1998, he resigned from the MTA and with the help of a few partners founded Emerging Technologies Institute (ETI).
He is happily married and the proud father of three daughters.
