Wow, i can’t believe Unilocal wants to charge them $ 500 to change their address here but they’re located at 19th ave and Council. I called them just to be sure. Their bulgogi burger was amazing and the couple that runs it were extremely nice. Definitely a cool experience seeing them use the flame thrower to heat their wood coals.

I have been coming here for months and it has only gotten better. I have yet to find a better burger in my local area and the owners are wonderful. Go in and try the Kimchi burger and tell them I sent you!

How things have changed in my little hometown. I remember when there was virtually nowhere to eat here: a couple restaurants, a pizza place, and McMenamins. Now I’ve come home for a visit and there are food carts here. What’s more, this one is really, really good, combining Korean BBQ and hamburgers. With a name like Five Star Burgers, you do expect the cook to bring his A-game to the table. These guys do. Everything is oak charcoal grilled and all of the meat comes from Carlton Farms, which is a local place that supplies really high-quality meat. The regular bacon cheeseburger, if one can call it regular, is outstanding. Apart from the ingredients being really good, the sauce is cut with just a little bit of horseradish. Not enough to make it actually hot, but enough that it brings out all of the flavor in the ketchup and the mayonnaise. So that’s the regular burger, but I also went with the kimchee Burger. It does not disappoint, even after the high expectations set by the regular. The kimchee is cooked with butter to soften the flavor a little bit, which helps it not drown out the rest of the flavor in the burger. Instead, it adds some tangy heat to the burger, but doesn’t cover up the flavor of the meat or anything else. It’s perfection. I also snagged a little bit of Bulgogi from the owners, and it’s like magic too. On top of all of this really good food, the owners are super nice. This is the kind of place I would hang out at just to hang out. What I would have given for this place to be here when I was going to high school. As it is, Forest Grove needs this place. It’s amazing.

Burgers are cooked to order. I recommend the kim chi burger, their regular 1⁄3 burger with home made kim chi(grilled up!) on top. Amazing food. Amazing folks. A wonderful first experience.

First Unilocal has the wrong address, they are at 202419th Ave near the fire station, but OMGARETHEYTASTY!!! This lil gem is a must try and it deserves all its praise and high ratings so far. The husband and wife who run this truck are hilarious and super friendly, I had the kimchi cheese burger cause I been cravin a burger and this hit the spot! The taste was a unique and delicious blend of spices and flavors. I highly recommend you come and try it: D

This is by far one of my favorite places to get real Korean bulgogi and chicken here in Forest Grove. David and his wife prepare and cook fresh food that reminds me of home cooked food. I drool every time I think about their food.

Just missed the lunch crowd– and I highly recommend that. This place has some really great food. My wife and I had the kimchi burgers– one hot and spicy, one medium. Both were fantastic. The owners are a lot of fun and cook your food over real oak charcoal(that he makes himself). He gave us a sample of the Korean BBQ chicken— delicious. We’ll definitely get that next time. Even the french fries were cooked perfectly, and some of the best we’ve had. Overall, it was a fantastic experience that we plan to repeat as often as we’re in the area.

My girlfriend and I decided to check out this place after all of the rave reviews. She ordered the kimchi cheese burger, I got the double cheeseburger with bacon. Both burgers were awesome. Enjoyed every bite. Not fast food, cooked to order. Takes time to make but worth the wait. The owners are great too. Dave was very friendly and funny. Great customer service. Definitely will be going back. Best burgers we’ve had in Forest Grove!

Amazing food, amazing owners. The burgers are excellent, juicy and well cooked with love. You know the food’s good when the owners throw on a couple burgers for themselves. The wait time is long, so calling ahead is definitely your best bet. They’ve moved locations a few times, but are currently off main across from the fire house. They do events, so again, calling ahead is your best bet. The owners are super friendly and chatty, so take that in to account with your personality type as to whether you want to hang out. It was a bit much for me on an antisocial day.

New location across from the fire house, same great burger! Love the burgers, fries and house sauce here and the owners are fantastic. Just call ahead and he will make your order in about 15 min ready for pick up and you can pull your car right up to the truck at this location. I will be returning to try more.

Try their teriyaki chicken. It is unlike any other teriyaki chicken that you have eaten. To forewarn, it is a little spicy so if ketchup is too spicy for you, just steer clear. However, this teriyaki chicken is not slathered in sauce, but a dry spice rub and cooked over the same organic charcoal that the burgers are. Basically, that equals phenomenal taste and moist chicken. Comes with a salad, rice and kimchi. Burgers and dogs are still top notch, just now I have to be a glutton and eat both a burger and teriyaki chicken in one sitting. Not good for the old waistline, but my stomach is sure happy. Be sure to order early, because they have been known to run out.

Dad was not enthused about getting lunch from a quasi food truck. I asked him what he smelled and he said grilled beef and I asked him when was the last time he smelled that– the answer: he was not sure. I cajoled him into eating here and neither one of us regret it. The owner and his wife are the only staff– he mans the grill, she the ordering and the prep. For a small place the menu is pretty good sized. I got the cheeseburger and dad got something with hot peppers on it(no surprise there!) We were asked how we wanted our burgers, and i was asked how much cheese I wanted. No one had ever asked me that particular question before. The seating for this place is a plastic picnic table and matching chairs. Before we sat down the owner/grill master brought us over a tablecloth– basically butcher paper. But it was a nice gesture. Our burgers were ready after a few minutes– perfection takes time. Mine was a bit more than I could handle and I was unable to finish. The owner looked crestfallen and asked what was wrong. I told him nothing– but he would not believe it. He looked upset and promised me that next time I come to eat there he would give me a free meal. And I believed him! Truly a great place in a tiny town, if you are in the area definitely worth stopping for…

The setting was perfect – it was a 75 degree day in beautiful downtown Forest Grove. When Unilocaling for a lunch break from restoring 125 year old windows, we landed on Five Star Burgers. I will not be the first person to break the cycle of excellent reviews. This place has it’s burger game on lockdown. Get the Kimchi Burger, or any burger. You will look forward to the next time you can come back! The couple running the joint are an amazing duo, and the pleasantries exchanged put smiles on all of our faces. FIVESTARBURGER!!!

You NEED to meet David and his wife AND enjoy probably the best burgers in F.G. Don’t expect to get a corner booth or a table because it’s a food truck and all they have is one plastic table with 4 chairs, but hey, are you there for the scenery or for good grub! I enjoyed the conversation with David as well as his 5 star food. It was my first time but as Arnold would say«I’LLBEBACK», because there are other items I have to try.

Their kimchi double cheese burger is the best burger I have had in a long time. Easily the best burger in Forest Grove! Fries are good too. The owners are very friendly and fun to talk to while they prepare your food. I will definitely be going back!

This burger puts Scotties to shame. Not frozen, he cooks it in front of you. The guy loves to talk about quality. The fries are awesome.
