Scott Land Photography

We chose Scott after reviewing his photos and agreeing that he had a style that we liked: His colors are not washed out pastels, he uses flash effectively, he has a composition style that we liked, and he took occasional chances that turned into gold. We loved working with Scott for engagement and wedding photos. Here’s some good things about Scott: flexible, had good ideas of his own, went with our ideas when they made sense, had a good assistant for the day of the wedding, prompt, straight forward, communicative, friendly, great photo booth experience (an extra fun activity for guests at our wedding). His billing and charges were straight-​forward, though he didn’t have a way to accept payments online. We recommend Scott Land 100%.

Scott is an awesome photographer! My husband and I had the privilege of having Scott photograph both our engagement session and our wedding day. He was very easy to work with, professional and caring. He really takes the time to get great shots and is open to suggestions on what we want. He offers great packages of which some include a FREE photo booth (definitely something to consider since they can easily become costly to rent). He lets you do location and outfit changes as well. All our friends and family have complimented how beautiful our engagement photos came out. We had such a fun time shooting with him. We cannot wait to see our wedding day photos because they will surely be amazing thanks to Scott. All you couples that are getting married, please contact Scott! You won’t regret it!

What can be said about Scott Land? Really the question we should ask is, what CAN’T be said about Scott? Scott was (is) an absolute delight to work with. Scott is sweet and professional, while still taking charge and not taking undue nonsense. He is a powerhouse and takes some of the most artistic and gorgeous photos I have ever seen.
I also think that Scott is brilliant at observing and assessing a situation; Scott can walk in to almost any situation and make people feel immediately at ease. Individuals in my party ranged from quite formal to super casual, and he was able to brilliantly swoop in and change his communication style based on to whom he was speaking. Everyone was happy and at ease with him, and it really showed in the photos.
I should also add that my (now husband) is incredibly shy and can be awkward around a lens, but Scott was able to catch some brilliant shots with us in spite of that by making him feel comfortable and encouraging us by telling us how great we looked. He captured lovely and candid moments between the formal shots brilliantly, and they both looked great!
My love for Scott is steadfast and I can say with all confidence that if you want some of the most beautiful portraits available to man, give Scott a call. His reputation proceeds him, and he is quite busy these days; I hope that his art takes him to the highest highs, as he deserves nothing but the best for his work, his personality, and his relational approach.

I first met Scott at a wedding show where we ended up winning a free engagement photo session. Scott instantly impressed us by suggesting a location for the shoot that we both loved. The pictures turned out so great and Scott was so wonderful to work with we decided to hire him for our wedding. Best decision ever! Scott was always quick to respond to emails during the wedding planning. Our wedding venue was a distance away from Scott and he had no problem meeting us at the venue to check out the location ahead of time. You could tell that he likes to be prepared by scouting out good shots and locations so the day of runs smoothly. Scott again over exceeded our expectations when he came to our wedding venue the night before our wedding and stayed on site to make sure he would not be late for the wedding day. When it came to the day of the wedding we could not have asked for a better photographer. Scott takes such pride in his work and enjoys the whole experience and works hard to make sure you and your wedding party does too. Scott learned everyone in our wedding party and parents names quickly, which made everything more personal. Even to this day, we still receive compliments about Scott from our wedding guests. Some even made sure to grab his business card for their future weddings. It is hard to put in words what a joy it was to work with Scott. He was so accommodating from day one. Once we received our wedding pictures we were again blown away. We now have the most amazing pictures of our wedding day to look back on for the rest of our lives. Thanks Scott!

We were so incredibly lucky to find Scott, he is an amazing person and photographer ! He really knows how to capture all of the moments throughout your big day! We have so many amazing pictures to help us remember ever moment and family member and friend that was part of our big day! I sure got lucky finding Scott for my wedding photography! It’s one of the most special days of someone’s life and the photographer is one of the most important pieces. Capturing the most beautiful moments to be able to look back and relive it and Scott did just that.
Scott was very professional and always on time. He came to my rehearsal (without me even asking) to scope out the venue to make sure he was prepared and even got to know my wedding party. You could tell he really wanted to get to know everyone so on the big day everyone was comfortable and he knew just the things to say to get everyone to smile.
My event coordinator was REALLY bad… so Scott stepped in and helped where the coordinator was lacking which was basically everything! He even kept track of our timeline to make sure we were where we needed to be… all the while taking beautiful photos. It didn’t matter what he had to do to get the shot whether he was laying on the ground or climbing up a huge wall, he did it.
During our reception Scott had whipped up a slideshow with some of the photos he had taken from our First Look and Ceremony and let me tell you my mouth dropped when I saw the pictures!!! Now that I have seen them all I am SO very grateful that I chose Scott to take our pictures. Anyone that I or my family show the photos to wants to know who took the pictures and of course we say Scott Land! I can honestly say if you don’t have Scott photograph your wedding or special event than you’re making a big mistake!!! You’ll be missing out on a very talented photographer!!!

This is the first time I have ever written a review on Unilocal,or any other website, for that matter. But I am braving the world of online review writing in order to give a shout out to Scott Land who went above and beyond at my June 2013 wedding in Southern California. We hired Scott to do an «open photo booth» because my mom designed a special background to compliment the vintage/​1930s theme I was trying to establish. And so we needed the «open booth» as opposed to the traditional kind. My mom raved about how nice it was to work with Scott in the lead up to the wedding, and how considerate he was in coordinating with her about getting all of the props and background in order. At the wedding itself, people loved the photo booth and he coordinated some really fun posed pictures for us and with our guests. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
I hadn’t really thought about the fact that the photographer that I hired to take our wedding pictures would only be at the reception for part of the time — because the package that I agreed to with her only covered a certain number of hours. So she left right after we cut the cake. Flash forward to later on in the evening: I’m on the dance floor having a great time and I notice out of the corner of my eye someone up on the top of a ladder taking pictures. It’s Scott! The guy found a ladder from somewhere — I have no idea where — maybe he brought it with him — and started taking pictures of the dance floor at twilight. The pictures are beautiful because the reception was outside and the pictures capture that beautiful twilight atmosphere, with the strings of lights lighting up the dance floor.
Then, as my husband and I were getting ready to leave the ceremony at the very end of the evening, Scott told us to wait a few minutes while he went and got his «good camera» so he could photograph our leaving the event through a trail of bubbles that our guests were blowing. Again, these pictures are beautiful — some of my very favorite from the evening. And he got them back to us very soon after the event — days in fact — while we were still on our honeymoon. As a result, we had some lovely pictures to enjoy a long time before we received our actual wedding pictures from our photographer.
Scott is a delightful person to work with and someone who voluntarily goes above and beyond the call of duty, even when he has no obligation or expectation to do so. I highly recommend him and would hire him again in a heartbeat.

When I was first looking for a wedding photographer I posted on Facebook asking all my friends if they could recommend anyone. THREE people who didn’t know each other all told me I had to go with Scott because he was awesome! They could not have been more correct!!! From the moment we met him, Scott made things easy and comfortable for my husband and I. He worked with our ideas for our engagement photos and even came out the night before our wedding (we got married out in La Quinta) to scope out the best places for pictures on the big day. He made everyone so comfortable while we were getting ready and was actually the one to show my bridesmaids a better way to tie the back of my dress. At the end of the night my wedding party decided to all jump in the pool in our dresses and suits. Scott was so excited to come get photos even though it was way past when he should have stayed. He was so amazing and I can not give him a high enough recommendation. All of our pictures have been amazing also. Scott has a great eye for what will make an incredible picture and he isn’t afraid to lay on the ground, stand in a stream or climb a boulder to get it. I’m so glad he did too. If you want someone you love having with you on your wedding day and incredible pictures for the rest of your life, you need to have Scott be your photographer. Oh and he’s pretty quick getting pics back to you too! I have had friends complain about not getting their proofs back for months after the wedding, so I was really expecting a bit of a wait. I was able to see my proofs within a month or so and that was even with him going to Italy for another wedding right after mine. This guy really is amazing.

I only give 5 stars because I can’t give 11. And even then, it wouldn’t be enough. As a rather stoic man, I’m tearing up thinking about how indebted I am to Scott for his photography on our wedding this past weekend.
Photography was something we felt was important to splurge on and get a great photographer, and the value for each package he offered was out of this world. For what we got, he could easily have charged thousands more. We elected for his biggest package, which includes a second, talented photographer, a photo booth for the wedding, an engagement shoot, custom printed book from the engagement shoot, and a similar book from the wedding.
The shots during our engagement shoot turned out incredible. People are consistently saying we need to see about getting it used for a professional modeling campaign for my wife’s company. The engagement book turned out awesome and served as a perfect guest book for people to sign as well.
Each time he has set the bar high and somehow managed to leave myself and my wife with our jaws on the floor at the experience of working with him. Always quick on the draw to catch spontaneous shots, and with what I can only describe as a masterful eye for photography, he has scouted areas and found great shoot ideas, then managed to find others while walking to and from locations during the shoot.
A graphics designer by day, ass-​kicking photographer by night and weekend, he takes great shots, and the ones that aren’t perfect he can touch up, crop, rotate or somehow tweak to make it one of your favorites. Additionally, he’s the only guy I know crazy enough to get his signature fish-​eye lens shot (not sharing it here cuz it’s his secret, but ask him about it. We fell in love with it once we saw the samples).
During our search for a good photographer, we talked to 2 or 3 others beforehand and each felt snooty and like they had no personality. When we met Scott, we knew that we’d get great shots because he was able to make us laugh. For those who don’t know, laughter makes for great smiles, rather than the forced, «I’ve been holding this smile for 5 seconds now, take the damned picture» smile you see in some shots. Each time he was absolutely killing it, making us laugh, feel at ease, breaking the ice and doing all sorts of stuff to get the shot. How many people do you know who will dress up in dress pants, vest, shirt, and lie down in the dirt to get the shot?
At one point during the wedding he brought a large computer monitor out and put it in a corner and put a small sampling of the shots during the preparation and ceremony up for guests to view. The shots were so great that our DJ actually asked whether he should change the music because NOBODY was on the dance floor – they were all huddled around the monitor looking at the shots. Hard to imagine an empty dance floor and 100 guests around a monitor, yet he managed to do it with just a few of his shots.
If at this point you still have doubts about whether to book him, I don’t think I can say anything else that will convince you, but if you take anything from this review or the others on this page, its this: contact him to set up a consult, give him a shot at earning your trust. I guarantee you will not regret it. Scott was the best investment for our wedding. WE LOVE SCOTT LAND!

I highly recommend Scott Land Photography. Scott did our engagement and our wedding photography. Not only does Scott take amazing pictures, he really is genuine and caring and gives 100% to produce photos to capture your special day. From the very beginning, I felt like Scott made our photography experience great. He drove down to our area to meet with him and discuss options. On the day of our engagement photo shoot, he came early to look at the area and get ideas. Before the wedding he made a separate trip to take a look at the church and our reception to plan locations for our wedding photography to ensure things went smoothly the day of the wedding. He also came to our church again the day of the rehearsal to get an understanding of the ceremony in order to best capture special moments. On the day of the wedding, Scott came early to take pictures of everyone getting ready. He came ready not only to photograph our day, but also provided water and supplies from his emergency kit like earring backings for the bridesmaids. His support and friendly, enthusiastic attitude really made a difference during our wedding day. Scott got along very well with all the wedding party and even made the effort to memorize everyone’s name beforehand. We are very pleased with the pictures we have received from Scott and could not be happier with them. No matter what setting, Scott has a very keen eye for creating memorable and artistic photos. I highly recommend Scott Land, we had such a great experience and without a doubt you will too!

There are not enough words in my vocabulary to express how amazing the Photographer for our wedding was! Scott Land saved the day in so many ways and really kept me sane through my entire planning process! If you are a Bride to be and want to find a cheaper photographer or use a friend DON’T! My whole wedding party, family and guests will tell you that Scott is worth it and then some. He did so much for us and honestly did some of my other vendor’s jobs for them as well. Scott became my coordinator, my emergency kit, the person with the best advice and not to mention his photography is over the top amazing and impressive!
I’ve never been disappointed in anything he’s done and he always finds ways to surprise me. He is cutting edge and utilizes all the newest technology. He thoroughly impressed all of my guests and they were able to already see some pictures at the reception. I’m a bride who was fortunate enough to have help from my Dad on the costs of our wedding and he now says Scott Land was the one experience that was worth every penny!
He truly found a way to capture my entire day and each moment. We had a huge wedding party and very rowdy guests and Scott was able to keep up with them all! He was the ONLY vendor at my wedding that I did not have to tell what to do! He gave me a timeline, he found all the best photo spots and captured everything perfectly. He has a gifted eye for making beautiful photos and a personality that really made us feel at ease in every way.
I met Scott while being a bridesmaid and he did so many extra, over the top things to get my attention I knew he was the photographer for me! For our wedding I feel he went over and beyond my expectations and now will forever be part of my family!

What an amazing talent! Scott shot my wedding back in March and I recently just got all photos. All I have to say is WOW! He really is a wonderful photographer! On time, very prepared and very professional! I had interviewed 4 – 5 photographers before deciding Scott was the best photographer for us. I’m so happy I went with him! My wife met Scott at a Bridal show and we met with him just after getting engaged. For us, Our wedding photographer was the most important facet of our wedding (vendor-​wise). We had already met with one photographer and immediately felt a more sincere and passionate vibe from Scott. Then we saw his work and were BLOWN AWAY. For this reason alone, I suggest that every couple reading this review on Unilocal consider just meeting with him, you wont regret it!
Scott has a history in graphic design and his albums were by far the best we’ve seen. For the sake of doing our due diligence, my wife and I had scheduled meetings with 3 additional photographers and entered those meetings with an open mind. However, after each, we would literally look at each other and mention Scott Land. He set the bar for us. To be honest, we didnt feel that he charged enough for his work, it is phenomenal! Aside from the aspects a bride and groom typically weigh when choosing a photgrapher such as price and quality of work, the thing that really impressed us was his personality. He cared first about our interests and desires, rather than trying to just «sell» himself to us. He cared most about getting to know us and it showed when it came time for photos. As I mentioned before, he was genuine and sincere. His work was amazing and clearly showed that he has a unique eye and an unparalleled skill. His history of graphic design made other photographer’s albums appear cheap. Did I mention that he also designed our «Save the Date» magnet and wedding program? From our conversations with him, it was also obvious that He is an incredible father to his daughters and a great husband,… something that you cannot put a price on.
When It came time to do our engagement photos, we had a Blast. He kept us loose and made us laugh. When snapping photos, He was laying in the dirt, on his knees, hanging off the mission bell tower… all to get the best shots. I cant tell you how many compliments we received on our photos. He drove to three different locations with us and endured multiple wardrobe changes on our part. To top it all off, he then took us to dinner.
Our wedding day was no different. Scott did it all. A few members of Our wedding party and family shared with us how incredible he was and what a great guy he was. One of my wife’s bridesmaids even mentioned she had wished that she would have met him prior to her wedding. Later that evening, Scott went so far as to have some wedding photos already streaming on a slideshow for guests to enjoy.
Without overdoing it here, we Loved Scott and recommend him to our friends and family who are engaged. His Passion for what he does is reflected not only in the quality of his work but how he goes about doing it. If you meet with him, you wont regret it,. in fact you wont ever look at other photographers the same again.

Scott did a great job! He had professional equipment, and it was the latest too. His compostions, and exposures, and his post processing are top shelf. He was very friendly, and professional, and he worked with us well. We are all very pleased!

AWESOME PHOTOGRAPHER!!!
I met Scott at a Bridal Show about a year ago. He had a contest going on. I entered, thinking it was just a fake contest just to get my info. A few weeks later he called me and said I have won a free engagement photo shoot! I was so excited. Since it was free, my fiancé at the time and i figured it would be a quick photoshoot. But it was not. Scott took his time and even gave us a wardrobe change! He was awesome and knew exactly what he was doing. We were very comfortable with him and he kept us laughing.
So a few months went by and we decided we wanted him for our wedding. we booked him and that was the best thing ever!
He came early on my wedding day to my house, and while I was getting ready he did his own thing and took pictures of my dress and such. He did a wonderful job at finding the perfect spots for pictures. He also had someone take pictures of my husband and his guys while they got ready. Everything was perfect. He even had a first aid box with basically anything you could think of!
He was also dressed professionally, and was just professional over all. Making sure to keep in contact throughout the months before my wedding and seeing if I needed anything.
He took wonderful pictures during our ceremony and our reception. I cant wait to see all the pictures! I got so many compliments from our guest of how much they loved Scott, and how he was all over the places making sure the capture every moment through out our special night.

Scott Land Photography took great photos of my wedding. My wife and I are wedding photographers on the weekend and we trusted our photography to Scott. He is professional and personal. He came to our wedding rehearsal to see how the ceremony was going to go. We did not have a traditional wedding and his style meshed so well with it. We would hire Scott to do any of our family photos in the future. I would recommend him to my friends and family.
