I had the pleasure of having this Taylor alter my dress about 8 years ago for my prom. My dress was all tulle and had very delicate beading throughout the entire dress it was all detailed work! I remember trying it on and it literally fit me almost too well I could barely breathe by the time he finished altering it lol but he did a wonderful job and I would defiantly recommend him !

I used to go to a dry cleaning place to get all of my alterations needs done, but they would always charge $$$ and weren’t too friendly. This was pre-​yelp days before you can read reviews and real testimonials from real customers about their experiences. I wish I knew about Peter and Daniel years ago. Don’t waste your time anywhere else, go here. Give them a call. Peter and his wife are super friendly and I promise they are fair and get the work done in more than reasonable time.

I am so thankful for Peter coming through in my time of need! I was a bridesmaid in an out-​of-​state wedding. The dress I was wearing was too long, and assumed the heels I would wear would take care of the problem. Unfortunately, by the time I had bought the shoes, it was only 2 days before I needed to depart and realized that my dress was still dragging on the floor. Frantically searched for tailors at 6pm on a Thursday and Peter Daniel was the closest open business with great reviews. I called them and apologized for my emergency, and his wife was very kind and understood my situation and told me to come in anyway. They were very welcoming of me into their home, where the business is. They promised the dress would be hemmed before my departure, and they delivered on that promise! Very professional with competitive pricing.

Was looking for someone (closer to my location) to hem/​taper my scrubs. Called late afternoon 10 days ago and was able to drop off 11 pieces. He and his wife were present at the time. Both were friendly, welcoming and very professional. Picked up my scrubs today and they were all done in a timely manner, at a decent price and they fit exactly as I had expected. Will definitely be coming back.

I got a pair of raw denim jeans tailored when Peter Daniel Custom Tailors was located in Montclair almost a year ago. I explicitly told the person who was fitting me that I would like a taper from the inseam as to not ruin the selvedge on the jeans and he gave me a slight nod. When I picked up my jeans, the job was done on the outseam which ruined the selvedge line. I noted this and I was simply just told that the tapering done here is only done on the outseam which I should have been told when I mentioned an inseam taper. The lack of communication completely ruined my experience here.

Peter Daniels did a beautiful job hemming and taking in my bridesmaid dress. He did everything in a very timely manner. Don’t waste your time or money getting your alterations through a bridal store, please see him.

Peter works out of his home and it is a very professional setting complete with an area to change. I took my daughter’s jeans to be hemmed this week and I took them back because they were too short. I thought it was his mistake, it was not, and it was ours (long story). Nonetheless he offered to fix them at no charge. We settled on half because I couldn’t allow him to do that knowing it was our mistake. He had them ready the next day. Friendly, professional, prompt service! So glad I found him.

I was referred to Peter Daniels after purchasing a prom dress from a retail store back in 2004, after that the rest is history! He has done quite a few alterations for myself, as well as my sister. He altered her wedding dress! Yes, I said wedding dress! They did an amazing job, for half the price the bridal store was going to charge. I just dropped of a dress today to have altered for a wedding I am in, in 2 weeks! Things are done in a timely manner. They have moved locations but I think this location is much more welcoming and warm! Thank you so much for great service! I will see you soon.

I’ve found them once again! I’ve been going here for 18yrs! (since I was 15yrs old!) Peter has done ALL my prom dresses, jeans, going out dresses etc. I was so excited to have him alter my daughters first communion dress. To find out he wasn’t at the same location! and someone threw away his flyers to his current location! I did some investigating & found my ONE & ONLY alteration place! Peter Daniel & his Son. Are the best in this business! No matter what size I bought they would ALWAYS make it fit like it was made just for me!!!

Wanted to slim down my suit and blazer jackets and found these guys on Unilocal.I worked with Octavio that day when I came in. Since this was my first time using a tailor, he was absolutely patient with me and gave me great recommendations on how to make my jackets look daper in all ways possible. I ended up shorting the sleeve about an 1″ and slimming down my jackets about 2″.
A week later, my jackets were done! I wore it to the a charity event and got many great compliments! The stitching was very well done. You can’t tell that the jackets were altered at all. Hats off to Octavio for his expert craftsmanship!
If you’re looking to get that daper touch to your suits, I highly recommend going here. They also make custom shirts, which I might try next time!

Peter does an amazing job! My buddies and I got a couple custom made shirts from him and the customer service, attention to detail and quality of the product was impeccable. He even had beers waiting for us on the last fitting. Best custom shirts I have ever owned and remarkable customer service!

Peter Daniel is an excellent tailor and provides you one on one personal service with selecting custom suits or shirts. My husband has been a customer since 1986
and has had many many suits and shirts made and alterations throughout the years. Doesn’t get any better with his experience and knowledge. If you don’t know what you want he will help you based on your information.

Maybe I caught them on a bad day, judging by these other reviews, but I experienced pretty shabby customer service.
I needed some alterations for a suit-​jacket and a two-​piece suit. He measured the suit-​jacket himself (the simpler job) but had his wife do the two-​piece. She didn’t know what she was doing… every once in a while he would come by and correct her mistakes, but not thoroughly. I didn’t feel confident at all leaving the two-​piece with all those half-​corrected markings, so I just left the suit jacket. She even commented to me «hopefully he’ll take a better look at this» and «I’m sorry, he’s not usually like this.»
When it came time to pay, he was so rude and dismissive that his wife even reminded him that I was a customer.
The work on the suit-​jacket was skillful and satisfying. If he had cared enough to give me common respect and to make sure the measuring for the two-​piece was a job well done, then I would have loved to have him do it also. (I found another tailor for the two-​piece, who offered half of what Peter Daniel offered, didn’t have attitude, and did a great job on the suit.)
In short, this tailor is skilled, but needs to care about his customers’ needs.

Excellent! I’ll never buy another shirt from Nordstrom or anywhere else again. This proves the old adage that you get what you pay for. The fabric options are endless, and Peter really knows how to match enduring style and fabrics with the client’s needs and physique.

I can’t believe this wasn’t already reviewed. Well, I guess I can because I’m guessing most of his clients are older people who are scared of the internets.
This is by far the best tailor I’ve ever been to. I’m only 29 years old though and haven’t been to many tailors. However, this guy did a fantastic job on fitting some of my dad’s older suits that were too big for me. After that, i took suits straight from Mens Warehouse (same parking lot) to him which he did a great job on. I don’t live in the area anymore so I take my pants to a local place. When I do need a suit tailored, I always make the drive up here because he just does a great job.
I think the pricing is fair. It certainly isn’t cheap but you absolutely get what you pay for here. He does also make handmade suits and shirts but I haven’t tried any of those. That is out of my price range.
