Juan Lopez Custom Kitchen Cabinets

To anyone who wants to use this man to do a kitchen remodel, think about it twice or more. We recently had our kitchen done by this man, from cabinets, to cement, to granite countertops and adding a new kitchen sink. Let me tell you it did not go well at all. When we first met with Mr. Lopez he assured us the kitchen will take about a week to get done and an additional week since he would be making brand new cabinets for us. The project took him almost a month, and that is due to me constantly contacting him about when he would be working on getting our kitchen done. He does not work weekends even though when he was hired he stated he did work weekends. He also informed us he would take care of the plumbing, meaning he would install our kitchen sink and dishwasher which were removed by him. Well in the end he did not install any of that and he advised us to hire a plumber, What? yup we had to pay a plumber to get those two things installed even though he had assured us he would take care of that. Anyway, when granite was finally scheduled to be installed he came to our home with different color granite and that was pointed out to him, however, he just thought I was being too picky and according to him once installed they would be the same. Granite was installed and of course the two different colors where there, very unprofessional of him to go ahead and install two pieces of granite that were two different colors. Well he had to remove the two pieces that were a different color and on his mission to do that he broke the piece of granite which had the sink attached. But wait, it gets better this man had the never to tell us he would not replace the piece of granite he broke, which by the way was the largest piece and that if we wanted a new piece it had to come out of our pocket. So, Mr. Lopez then goes on to blame us for letting his workers install two pieces of different color granite, like, are you serious? you were told in advance of the difference in granite colors. We are paying you to supervise your workers, not for us to be supervising what you had authorized him to install. Anyway, Mr. Lopez then felt we were being too picky and he wanted to walk away from the job stating he would only finish the kitchen cabinets and we could find someone else to install the granite. Second mistake was having him make kitchen cabinets. This man has VERY poor quality craftsmanship and he needs to brush up on his measuring & math skills as well. This man did mistakes on the measurements left and right, some doors where not aligned right, the drawers were also not aligned. He came to our home and measured our old cabinets 3+ times and even with that he couldn’t get any measurements done correctly. The only thing that he did right was match the color of the cabinet as we wanted. Cabinets were not completely painted, he felt like he could save on money by not painting on the cabinets if it was going to be covered by the refrigerator etc. He put cement on the floor to level out the cabinets, oh my god, I could have done the cement and ended up with the same bad result. This man loves to collect money, he had the nerve to ask for money when his workers were there because he would have to pay them at the end of the day, then he called us again that same day and said that we needed to pay his employees once they were done. Of course I did not pay his employees, he had already been given the money for that. Anyway, we paid this man a lot of money to end up with a kitchen with broken granite, and kitchen cabinets with an infinity of mistakes. We would not recommend this man to anyone even if he was the last guy that can remodel kitchens. I am not sure where he got the pictures he posted on his website but his work is far from looking that awesome. Trust me if you have to spend a little more to get a contractor do it, because working with someone who is not a contractor will not get you any good results. Our kitchen turned out just ok, but the flaws are there and visible.
