This DMV was fast, clean and the best one in Southern California. If you are in the area make an appointment at this one.

I had an appointment at 8am to renew my license. I was out at 8:15am. I didn’t even get a chance to sit down it was so quick. Staff was very friendly. What an upgrade from the last location! The place is huge and clean. Had a great experience.

Don’t be fooled by its fast service, this dmv is very unorganized and blames you for their mistakes. There have been multiple occasions where they messed up my name on the paperwork, or completely forgot to put in valuable information which cost me a hundred dollars more in registration. They can be stubborn and refuse service, although they know it was them who messed up. Few close friends of mine have even been refused a driver’s license because the information (that they passed the road test) was never recorded into the system. It also doesn’t matter if your appointment is before 8am; I had one at 7:20 and my test didn’t begin until 8:15, and I was the only one there that morning, so it wasn’t a delay. They just didn’t arrive on time.
The road test is really easy, but the instructors have favoritism and tend to discriminate if you lack good English speaking skills. So try to be charismatic. If you get Dennis, your life will be truly blessed!
I still like it here because contradictory to other reviews, the security staff is really kind… And if you don’t have an appointment, you are still attended pretty quickly, but just make sure to double check everything because they don’t seem to care about the accuracy of their work.

Make an appointment. In and out before out appointment time. Great job guys.

The place was packed when I arrived and the wait still wasn’t very long. The three people I had to deal with in order to get my tags renewed for all pleasant and highly recommend going to this DMV

This new and improved DMV is awesome. When they gave my number I sat down for 1 minute until they called for my turn and they did everything in an organized manner. Definitely recommend!

First off, everyone in the parking lot is bunched together with barely anywhere to park. The reason? A whole side of the parking nearest to the DMV is reserved for tools with ‘electrical vehicles’. It’s a stupid idea, because that whole area is pretty much vacant, while the rest of us have to get our cars banged up by people parking too close. Furthermore, according to my instructor I passed the test. However, the guy seriously expected me to park my Dodge Ram pick-​up truck between two cars that were over the parking lines. Since it was physically impossible, I protested. He responded by insisting, as there was nowhere else to park in the section of the parking lot. This resulted in the genius failing me on the count that he had to verbally intervene because I was going to «wreck one of the two cars» in front of us. Like any DMV office, this place is exceptionally incompetent. And another thing! Why the Hell do I have to pay to retake the driving test? My tax dollars already keep this inept public agency in business.

BEWARE OF THE BEHIND THE WHEEL TEST
The staff seemed nice at first then it all went downhill. I had an appointment at 11:40 arrived at 11:05 and didn’t get called to go in line for my behind the wheel test until 1:00 PM!
I thought twice about coming here since I had read reviews on Unilocal that a Hispanic bald chubby guy failed everyone but I decided to go anyways.
What do you know? Just my luck I got him as my instructor and what do you know I also failed because of «not turning into a bike lane» JUST like the other reviews that complained about him said which made absolutely no sense to me.
All in all, just go to another DMV if you want to get your license. Preferably Norco or Redlands
I got my license right after this experience so it doesn’t much matter anymore

I arrived at 7:56 for an 8am appt & there was a line for appointments with people complaining that they had to wait in line. At 8:19 I had my license renewed, new picture and out. They were awesome and fast. Just because it’s the DMV doesn’t mean it’s going to be a miserable experience. Be nice to them, I saw so many cranky people and the employees couldn’t be nicer. Cut the attitude, you’re making THEIR day miserable. Thank you DMV :)

That tag renewal kiosk and the more organized layout is the best thing from this new DMV. Other than that it’s the DMV we’re talking about always a horrible horrible line

I’ve never seen so many children get hit in public since my last Wal-​Mart visit.
The building is very nice and spacious, though. They also have a lot of «teller» windows and get through the bingo tickets pretty quickly.
There were several unpleasant ladies at the first counter, but I completely understand why.

The only other dmv I’ve ever been to was the one in Pomona. My sister suggested I try this one to get my license renewed because she said it was never crowded. Wow was it a good idea to drive all the way out here! I came in at about 3:00 without an appointment and was done by 3:30 even though it was pretty crowded when I walked in. Everyone that helped me was friendly and pleasant provided you were polite to them. I’m sure they deal with a lot of disgruntled people so they react to how you treat them, they are human after all. I was shocked at how quickly they processed everyone that was waiting.
The building is brand new, brightly lit, and very clean. There is plenty of parking out front as well. I didn’t know there was such thing as a good dmv experience. Now I know to come here for everything I need instead of waiting in line for three hours at the Pomona one

So, I go to the DMV of Fontana. I am trying to obtain a duplicate of my CDL which I lost. 1^st I walk in and there is a security guard who asked what service I need. I answer and get in line. At the end of the line I am asked the same question and I’m handed a DL44. I AM TOLD FILL OUT THE AND GET BACK IN LINE!!!
Why couldn’t I be handed the form AND ask to fill out be issued a number and ask to sit and wait. I could live with that. I’m am given a G number. They only call G number every 20 minutes. 50 minutes go by and no G numbers are being called. I approach to ask for a manager for an explanation of why this is happening.
I was told sit down then a manager will be called once you are at the window. I asked why this happening to the clerk. He tells me appointment come first then the G numbers.
Most of the employees have a nasty attitude with customers. Don’t they realize customer service is important and it’s a reflection of the organization they represent???
If they do not like what they are doing maybe they should look for another JOB.
I am paying for a service not asking for anything for free.
I will be calling the news and asking then to get for an explanation since the employees and managers are so disrespectful to the public.
This should not be tolerated from a public entitity. An empretty sure they will lie and smile for the cameras. Under cover investigation should and could be useful in this case.
If you are please agree. I will follow up and handle the rest. I hope this is only a one time deal and a trend with public employees.

Amazing facility!!! Very efficient in processing customers, wide open space, and just a great improvement from the previous location!
Plenty of parking spaces as well!

Ok, so I’m reviewing this in comparison to other DMV locations. With that said. The dmv is a miserable experience wherever you go. This is the best dmv in the area. I live in Huntington Beach but I still come here if I’m in the area because it is the best dmv I’ve been to by far. They are still slow and irritating but faster and more polite then other locations.

Very slow workers and short of staff I have to wait 70 numbers to be called up G130 and im 200 what the heck…

Has plenty of parking, clerks are very nice and helpful. Plenty of seating. Much nicer then the old location. Only reason I an giving it only 1 star is because of the security guards. The African American lady in the front is extremely rude to customers. Like she hates her job. The other older white guard is also extremely rude to customers. Speaking to people with ignorace is degrating. Going to the DMV is stressful enough. Having the guards irritating customers for no reason but a show of power is uncalled for. Having a security guard uniform should come with some type of ethics. You would think the DMV could find more qualified professional guards to match the politeness of the clerks in the office.

Wow amazed how this dmv looks. So big and a lot more parking then the last location. In addition it’s in a business area where it’s not to much traffic.
This place is good for beginner drivers to take their behind the wheel test. Again not to much traffic.
Make sure to make an appt online before coming in. They do prioritize and get the people with appts first.
They do take debit now. I wasn’t aware before I only thought it was cash or check only.
Make sure to study before taking your test. I highly recommend this DMV. Staff is friendly and from experience are in a cheerful mood if you bring your things accordingly instead of coming in all confused.

I’m here visiting my Mom from d Bay Area & came to find out that her Ca. ID was expired already. Called yest. morning & got same day appt. OMG, first time in my life of 50 yrs. of no wait more than 10 min. The largest & cleanest DMV I had ever been. My mother is 90 yrs. old & no charge. I was told 62yrs. old & above is free My Mom was really impressed & left d place happy Keep up a great job
