Americas Best Value Inn

We were stuck in Fontana for a night and had to quickly find a hotel to stay for the night.
And to make matters worse, we had a giant Ford F350 truck WITH an auto trailer attached to it so finding parking for this giant thing would be the hardest obstacle.
I usually just choose the cheapest deal I can find online and this place was second to the cheapest right next to Motel 6. So we decided to pay a little bit more for a little bit better.
And to my amazement, they had a whole parking lot especially made for giant trucks in the back!!! Seriously, what are the odds that the day we have a giant truck we also get a hotel with a truck parking lot. When we arrived there was already two semi-​trucks parked there and plenty of more space for ours which was amazing luck.
Upon checking in, they only had a king bed smoking room available or two queen beds non smoking. The clerk was very generous in allowing us to check out the smoking room first to see if we wanted it and he was very honest with us because he told us that it does smell pretty bad, which anyone can appreciate honesty. So we checked out the smoking room and by the time we got back to the front desk, he notified us that someone had canceled and he would be able to book us a king bed non smoking which was an even better relief.
The swimming pool looks small and ghetto, I probably wouldn’t get in there unless I was staying for a long period of time or multiple days and had nothing better to do in the heat.
The room itself was actually very spacious compared to most motel rooms I’ve been in.
There was so much room for activities. Lol.
Spacious living room, spacious walking spaces, spacious bathroom.
Everything looked clean and I noticed how nice and neat all the towels were and they even tied cute bows on the bars with the towels. Thats how I know that the maid actually took her time to make the room look nice.
There are complimentary soaps/​shampoos but I thought it was weird that there was no conditioner. Just extra bottles of shampoo. But no biggie since it was just a one night stay.
They have a small hair dryer which works decent.
And they had a medium sized flat screen TV which I felt was a lot bigger than most motels I’ve been to as well which was nice. I’m especially glad that it wasn’t one of those oldschool box shaped tvs.
There was also hot water and it didn’t take long to get hot.
And there was a microwave AND a mini fridge! I know many motels would have only one or the other or even none of those options, which was also really awesome.
Overall, I think the price we paid was fair and it was a pleasant stay.
P. S. I paid about $ 86 for a one night stay in a king bed non smoking room.

PROS:
First and foremost, the rooms are pretty and clean. Every time I book a room at this place, it smells like fresh lemon scent as soon as I open the door. The blankets and sheets are white as can be and I can tell the lady’s working there really take their time to bleach and wash all of the towels the best that they can. The rooms are now renovated, the carpets appear new, and the TV’s are flat screens so the picture looks great on them.
The toilets are powerful when you flush them so no need to worry about clogging them with toilet paper and what not, lol. The shower head does bother me though because you can’t move it without feeling like you’re going to break the entire thing and the water needs to be turned off in order to be able to get a good scrub on your body or else the soap will just be washed away, hah.
And you get a 15% discount when you use your Value Card, which you can request for free from the America’s Best Value site.
CONS:
The front desk clerk. Sometimes even the owner. I’ve made reservations at this location about four times now and whenever I drive inside the building I already know what to expect when walking in. There is no communication whatsoever from the girl sitting behind the window, no «Hi, how can I help you.» no «Good afternoon, what can I help you with today.» not even a «Hello.»
This past weekend she just raised her little eyebrows and her chin and did not greet me, instead I greeted her. I didn’t feel bad about it or anything because I’m used to her attitude already though. After I completed the registration slip she just told me, «Sign the bottom of this receipt please, and your room will be on the right.» I said, ‘Alright, thank you. Have a good day.’ and she didn’t reply or give me my copy of the receipt. Again, it wasn’t a big deal because I sometimes get it the day I check out.
The first time I made a reservation I remember I asked her something about how to fill out the form and she acted like she didn’t hear me, then asked one second later, «What? What did you say?». Like, can’t you be polite? Damn. But anyway, I come to this place for the room not for the people so I’m not too butt hurt about her persona.
The owner can sometimes be a little tit too so it must be an attitude that you catch when you sit at the desk too long.
OVERALL:
I’ve had pleasant stays but those at the front desk need to kick it down a bit with their ego.

I am guessing both five star reviews are from the people who work there. I spent a night regretting every second of it and ended up just getting out of the room at 6 am. Super old motel with stinky rooms. Very loud air conditioning that won’t let you sleep at all. I would never recommend this place anyone. Also breakfast is just coffee, and one kind pastry with banana, that’s their continental breakfast!

Place is very nice. Excellent remodel. Nice TV with good content. Great picture for a hotel. Best place I’ve been to around this area.

Friendly staff. Newly renovated rooms with a nice widescreen LCD TV an great AC. Room was very clean. Property also features a pool that appeared to be clean and well maintained. Ample semi truck parking.
