History

Established in 1992.

I am a retired police officer. After retiring from law enforcement I worked for Allstate and Mercury Insurance Companies. I was recruited by Progressive Insurance and managed 6 states; Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Nevada, California and Hawaii.

I started my law firm in 1992. My firm handles Personal Injury, DUI and Wills and Trusts. I graduated from the prestigious Gerry Spence Trial Lawyers College in Wyoming. I sit on the Board of Directors for the Capitol City Trial Lawyers Association where we have over 400 members. I was a Vice President for the El Dorado Bar Association. I am a member of AAJ (American Association of Justice)

My husband and I are very grateful and blessed to have had Travis and his team by our side. My husband was in a terrible accident and Travis and his team were so very kind and attentive. They responded to our calls and e-​mails promptly and listened to our needs. I highly recommend them to anyone going through the horrors of personal injuries. In the beginning not knowing what to do was frustrating and scary. Once we found Travis it was a weight lifted off our shoulders. He personally took the time to come meet with us, to explain the process and what was to come, he went above and beyond, and would even call just to check up. My experience was okay. I was not looking forward to working with a lawyer. I am happy with my final settlement after a car accident. Although I was not happy when Travis tried to get me to settle for half of what I ended up getting. Telling me it is all my case was worth and no way I was gonna get a penny more. I felt like a child being scolded and I knew that amount was way too low. I agreed to to settle for a small amount because I felt like I had no other option since the person I hired to fight for me wasn’t willing to fight for me. Later that day Travis called back and said he called the insurance company back and told them that amount was way too low and was able to get my portion of the settlement almost doubled. I felt the final amount was fair. I didn’t appreciate being talked down to and scolded because I didn’t want to accept the first small settlement that was offered.
Mixed feelings about the whole experience, didnt enjoy the process but believe my final settlement was fair.

I am so truly grateful that I found these folks at Travis Black Law! After my accident I was injured and very unsure as to how to handle all the medical bills that were thrown at me. But Travis and his associated were very accessible to me, thorough, and reassuring. They were on the ball and took care of every detail of the case. Any time I needed to ask a question I only had to call and I could speak to them on the spot. I am very thankful that my case was assigned to Shon, as he was so patient as he explained everything to me when I was confused as to how the process worked. They were helpful and very easy to get a hold of. Zero stars. I consulted this lawyer for an auto accident/​personal injury case over the phone today. He was completely unprofessional in every since of the word. This man is absolutely insulting, belittles and talks down to you on the phone while raising his voice the whole time. I guess in all his years he never learned how to deal with people and listen to those who need help. Avoid this lawyer and firm at all costs unless you want to be yelled at and told you’re stupid. Terrible human being, do not give him any business at all! Shame on you for thinking you are above hardworking citizens just because you are a lawyer!

Good staff, good settlement. I didn’t want to sue but the other side pushed it. The whole litigation process was time consuming but I’m happy with the outcome. Travis got really involved. We didn’t have to go to trial but we got close to it and I know he would have taken the case there if we had to. I think the other side knew this and that’s why they offered what they did. I’m happy and would recommend him.
