The red chair salon & spa

Looks like we have a new stylist in town and she will start up on Tuesday. She comes from San Antonio, TX. She’s owned 3 other salons and was rated number 1 best color stylist in town. She’s been on San Antonio morning news, she worked with MMA fighters (body contouring), she’s a Joico educator, and has over 10 plus years as a color stylist. Give her a try… Michele Tirado… you’ll be impressed and happy with your results.

This place is off of Folsom Auburn road, in a very small plaza. I purchased a Groupon for $ 61 ($ 135 value) for a cut and color along with a wash and deep conditioning. Long story short, I had a great experience here, I would go back again. I actually got my hair cut here during the beginning of summer and am just now posting a review.
Ambience: It’s pretty spacious, there is a waiting room area and a spa area hidden by a curtain. The actual hair styling and washing area feels a little cramped but nothing too bad!
Service: I called for an appointment the day beforehand and went in the morning. Originally wanted to book with Melissa, but she had no availabilities so the person on the phone, Jenny, cut and styled my hair. Jenny was very attentive and cut my hair exactly how I wanted it. She really listened — I’m the type of person that really doesn’t like to do super drastic changes to my long hair — and she styled it exactly how I wanted it! The highlights were absolutely gorgeous as well!
Since I am writing this review so late and I have not actually cut my hair since then, I do want to say that the highlights have stayed super vibrant (after 4 MONTHS.) and the cut has been lovely. I’m due for another hair appointment very soon, not sure if I will go here without a Groupon, but it is definitely on my mind! Great experience!

Emily did a great job on my highlight and haircut! The salon is not fancy but friendly and comfy.

Emily did a wonderful job cutting my hair! She took care to make sure it was what I wanted and I couldn’t have gotten better service. Be sure to ask for Emily when you come in, you won’t regret it!

Amanda is amazing! She did such an awesome job! I love my hair so much! At first I wasn’t in love with it (my hair reacted weird and made it look gray), so she made time for me right away to fix, without charge. I LOVE it now. Color and cut. She was helpful and accomodating! If you go, definitely ask for Amanda! You won’t be disappointed!

Immediately after I posted my first ever negative review Melissa contacted me from The Red Chair Salon and inquired about my terrible first time experience. I was NOT her client originally. I was a girl named Shannon who I was informed has since been let go’s client. Melissa was NOT at all responsible for the service I received, however, she offered to make things right and do my 6 week touch up. She was absolutely amazing and did a wonderful job! I will definitely become one of her more regular customers as soon as my maternity leave is over. (Im due soon) she comped my entire service that I should have initially received and wasn’t expecting to be tipped or anything for the service! However she did such an amazing job that i felt it necessary anyways. If you choose to use this salon as yours ask for Melissa and you will not be disappointed!

I had my hair done by Melissa and she is amazing! I have been looking for awhile for a new colorist that is closer to my home and struck gold when I found Mel @ The Red Chair Salon. She did a full ombré on my hair with at least 4 or 5 colors (at my request), and was almost more excited to be doing the process, than I was having her do it for me! Melissa is a joy to be around, always strives to make sure you are comfortable, and is dedicated to ensuring you receive the style you came in looking to get. I couldn’t be happier with the results!

I usually don’t write reviews, but for as picky as I am with my hair, I had to for the Amazing haircut and color I got today! Jenny at The Red Chair Salon did an awesome job! She really listened and knew exactly what I wanted. Customer service was great from my first phone call, to getting me in right away! The atmosphere there was great! All in all. great experience!

Can’t say enough great things about Amanda! She is super sweet and pleasant. She absolutely knows what she is doing and had great recommendations based on what I wanted and asked for. I think I have found my new permanent hair stylist!

Melissa was a life saver. And does amazing work! Not only is she a good person she is friendly and sociable and makes you feel comfortable and doesn’t work on your hair till she really understand what you are looking for. I am so glad i found such and amazing stylist.

Had a highlight/​cut with Julie recently. The highlights were great, I loved them! But the cut was just alright. I wanted a long bob with light layers, and the layers were not the best. She was certainly a very nice woman, but I dont think I would go back for a cut, maybe just for color.

I recently moved back to the area and was looking for a nice place for a men’s haircut. I got an appointment with Julie who was great. My cut came with wash and shampoo and cut and I was very pleased. It’s a laid back salon, good parking and all the staff was friendly. I am hoping this will be my new stylist.

I came in to see Sandy for a facial today.
She is beyond amazing.
She did a peel and put some cool lotions on my face. She gave me hope for the future of my skin!!!
I’ll be back in just a few short weeks!!!

Drove by and saw they were having a special. I had some gray outgrowth and needed a touch up badly because I am going out of town. They got me in in one hour and Jason did an excellent job with my color and I got a great deal. He told me he not only does color and cuts but he does barber work too. Thank you Jason.

I bought a groupon recently for Julie at Red Chair. I called her a few days in advance and she was able to fit me in on a day that I requested. She did a fabulous job on my color and cut. I showed her a pic of a cut I wanted, and she did great! She even took the time to style my hair for me, which i don’t think the groupon covered. I had been looking for a new hair stylist, and I think I found her :)

This salon is charming, trendy, clean and offers a wide variety of services. The owner and staff were very personable and made me feel very welcome.
I moved to this area a little over a year ago and have had such a hard time finding a manicurist that was as good as the one I left behind. I have tried approximately 15 salons and have been very disappointed. Needless to say, I am very picky. In fact, in frustration after a particularly bad manicure, I drove the two hour drive just to have my nails done by my previous manicurist.
I just had my nails done at The Red Chair salon by Alyson and she did an amazing job! She actually asked me about my preferences, listened to my reply and did them the way I wanted them! It is the best manicure I have had since moving here. I will definitely be making a standing bi-​weekly appointment.
