Maribou has 2 salons with 60 staff members offering just about every service in the industry.

Maribou Salon has several stylists who have traveled the world, attending classes and teaching.

History

Established in 2006.

Maribou opened it’s doors in 2006 & is home to many of the area’s most talented stylists, makeup artists, manicurist and esthetician’s. Maribou hosts many top level trainings including Vidal Sasoon’s Precision Cutting, Redken Master Specialist program, Bumble & Bumble Razor Cutting and many more. The owners and staff are invoved in the community & have hosted numerous charity events, donating thousands of dollars to charity. While some of our staff is booked out several weeks & well worth the wait, walk-​ins & new clients are always welcome & generally accommodated with a same day appointment.

I started my career in the Bay Area in 1995. I dreamed of opening a salon from the beginning and was determined to make it fabulous! My husband & I take pride in working hard to keep our salon clean & beautiful, our staff inspired & our customer service top notch. I am honored to be surrounded by an exquisite team of salon professionals who continue to stay on the cutting edge through lots of advanced education & a genuine passion for our industry.

This was my first time at Maribou Salon on sutter st. and Jessica Triplett did an AMAZING job! I have never felt more comfortable in a salon in my life. She gave me better results than I could ever imagine!!! My hair not only looks phenomenal but it feels and looks healthy! I was impressed of her knowledge about hair care as wel. Definitely recommend her!

This place is amazing!!! Today was the first time getting my hair done in Cali, since I just moved here in September and I gotta admit, I was a little nervous to go somewhere new. I walked in and it was so classy/​chic and very welcoming! Jessica T. did my hair and I’m sooo happy with the way it turned out AND I had a mimosa hollaaaa! Definitely check this place out! They know how to make you look beautiful!

Channing @ Maribou has been doing my hair for the last year and to say that I’m happy about it would be an understatement. She’s a great hairstylist, coolest personality and makes you feel comfortable in her chair. That’s not always the case in nice salons. I’ve always been happy with my color and cuts and she’s not afraid to try something new. I recently brought my 3 year old daughter in for a cut and she made her feel like a princess. Maribou is lucky to have Channing! Thank you Channing!

Katie was absolutely awesome! I will definitely be going back to her. She is very professional, sweet, and had very good technical skills which was needed for my tri-​colored brassy ombré that had gone awry. The salon was very beautiful and all the staff and clients seem to be very happy. Prices are very comparable to the area. You can’t go wrong with this place!

Wow… Lindsey is the best colorist I have ever been to (I am 44 and very particular about my hair). I have spent years trying to get my color right. I have grey (a lot now) and have spent decades trying to be a chestnut brown with slight highlights. No one else could get the brown right without it looking brassy. She is young… early twenties but is very cutting edge on the best and latest way to do things and my hair actually feels healthier now. She showed me how to use the” Halo” and blended it. I bought one (hair extensions with no damage) for special occasions. She is sweet to be with too. I’m so use to someone putting color on me, sitting me on a couch while another color was done, and then getting back to me. Not Lindsey. She said she won’t book appointments that way. It’s one person at a time and I got 100% of her attention. The salon is beautiful and the whole experience was such a treat. It’s fun to go to old town Folsom. I think I’d go to Bagdad though if my hair color could be right! Thank heavens… I have waited for good hair long enough. I haven’t received a compliment on my hair in years until I went to you.

I have seen Andrea S. for almost a year now and Love her, she is so very Talented with hair. I see her for my highlights and cut and she does a Fantastic job with both. would totally reccomend her as I have to friends and of course anyone whom asks. She is a doll.
I have to also give a Huge Shout out to Helene the Nicest Receptionist Ever, she always has a smile on her face and very Friendly.

I called last minute for a haircut today, not expecting an appointment since it was so late in the day, and was able to get in same day. I had never been here before but saw the large amount of positive reviews and since my normal stylist was booked for a week out and much further to drive, I decided to take a risk (which I never do with my hair). My appointment was with Sydney and even though I was about 15 minutes late it didn’t seem to be a huge deal since she was still finishing up with her last client. She was very friendly and easy to talk to and it felt like she was inside my head when it came to what I wanted. I love that! Sometimes I feel like such a spaz when I’m trying to explain what I want but she got it without me having to explain myself a bunch of times. She was also VERY meticulous with making sure everything was even which I feel is never a bad thing for a hair stylist. Sydney was such a sweetheart and came across very genuine in conversation and went out of her way to make me feel comfortable the entire time. Overall, I am so happy with my cut and will definitely come back to see her in the future and would certainly recommend her to all my friends and family.
FYI for just a cut it came out to $ 41, but that is less expensive than my other salon so of course that’s always nice.

Absolutely love GENNA!
I’ve always had very thin, fine, «semi-​straight» long hair. If you have hair like mine, then you know you can’t go over a day without washing, blow drying & straightening, otherwise it looks like an oily mess. Unfortunately doing that on a daily basis made my hair look dry and damaged.
GENNA made a few recommendations & I took her advice; she took off some length (which I wasn’t too excited about) but the end result is amazing! My hair feels & looks healthy, shiny, and even thicker. It took just a short few months but it’s almost the same length I started with, just so much healthier. She definitely knows what she is doing!
The salon in general is very clean & has a nice décor; schedule is very flexible with late evening appointments. Also, love their referral program!

I got my hair done by Lorielle and she is the best!!! We are gradually getting my hair done lighter from dark brown hair to light blonde highlights and she did a such a great job! My friends love my hair and I am not embarrassed with my hair color change because the way she did it doesn’t show a huge contrast. I can’t wait to see her again because she is the one who I trust and not scared of the outcome.

I came here this afternoon, its nice, clean and i really love the decorations. The receptionist was very sweet to help me make the appointment as same time.
I got my hair done by MEGAN. She was so nice, helpful and friendly. Althought i just did the simple wash and blow-​dry but she worked wonders on my hair. She actually listens to what I want and makes me satisfied :)

This shop is laid out beautifully. Its very nice and clean. When I came in I had Caitlin and she is probably the best I’ve went to in years. She is so friendly and does what you want how you want it. I felt like getting a cut and color last minute & decided to call & make an appointment. Crystal the receptionist was very sweet and was able to get me a same day appointment.
I got my hair done by MARY. I was more then satisfied with her. She was so sweet and she worked wonders on my hair. I LOVE IT! I will def. be coming back very soon.
The salon was very clean and I loved the décor. They offer you water, a mimosa, or soda when you check in. The atmosphere is very relaxing and you get to leave feeling relaxed and BEAUTIFUL!

If you want to experience the most AMAZING head massage of your life, book an appointment with Candace M.
I was a client of Candace’s when she was a student at Paul Mitchell the Academy and ALWAYS looked forward to the blissful head massage that came with the cut. Her magic hands will induce a pleasant euphoria when you just close your eyes, lean back, and relax.
That’s not to say that I don’t love my cuts — because I love those too :] She has the special ability to manage the mass of hair growing from my head. It’s not the typical straight Asian hair — my hair is thick and has a slight wave to it. Why? I can’t explain it. Somehow Candace waves her magic scissors and voilà– I have a manageable mane. What I really appreciate about Candace is that she will patiently look at your cut from every angle and make sure that you are absolutely satisfied. I get so embarrassed when I ask her to thin my hair… for like the third time — but she just laughs and makes sure it’s just enough without indulging me to the point I end up whacking more of my hair off. (Thank you for that by the way.)
Candace also does beautiful color work. She did a balayage for me over half a year ago and I’m STILL receiving compliments on it. She has a great eye for complementary colors and cuts — giving you a flattering look that works with your lifestyle. You will always leave a session with her feeling refreshed and beautiful: D

I LOVE going to Andrea S. and I’ve been a client of her for years. She’s very skilled in her techniques and always professional. She’s always very flexible in booking me when I need something stat. She takes pride in making sure I’m beyond satisfied with my hair each and every time.
I recently went from a hideous bleached blonde dye job by another hairdresser when I regrettably strayed from Andrea for a period in time when I moved from this area. She transformed my hair into a natural sombre bayalage, and although it’s a process to get it to where it needs to be, she’s very flexible and understanding. This salon is very cute and chic, and is in a great location in old Folsom. You can’t go wrong with Maribou and Andrea!

I have had Megan Dimmitt do my hair for several years. She is not only a top notch stylist, but she is an expert in hair color. She has worked at many top tier salons and has taught professional classes at schools.
Megan consistently trains with new hair color processes and technology to stay abreast of the latest trends and coloring technics. She always recommends the proper products to use for colored hair and also studies the trends. Plus she let’s you know about store bought products and how they are bad for your hair, letting you know exactly how they affect your hair texture and color.
I will continue to use Megan as my trusted hair stylist.
