Great food and service. Went there on 6÷21÷16 around 5pm. The great service started with the hostess opening the door you don’t get that at a lot of restaurants anymore. Very friendly and great at her job. The server was awesome she was there within a minute and my drink came out less then a minute after I order it by another girl. I’m in restaurant management myself and I was very impressed. My food was out so fast I didn’t believe it was mine when the young man came out with it. He was very nice also. He didn’t just drop off my food he asked if I needed anything else and took care of it. It felt like there was always someone there when you needed something. The food was really good. Also the lava flow was delicious and a great choice with a burger on a day with temps over 100. When I got up to leave the hostess was back at the door opening it up for me to leave. You guys have a great staff. It was slow when I was there and I will be back and hopefully it’s a little busier.

The servers were nice but the food was not as I expected. I order the(what would be mushroom Swiss burger) however the food was served cold. The fries were served too fried/hard but still cold, the mushrooms were cold, and the cheese wasn’t even close to be melted. We ordered another batch of fries, which I thought«cool they’ll be warm» but somehow, that managed to be cold as well.

Outstanding food and exceptional customer service at the Folsom site. Rex and Peter were great at checking in periodically and ensuring our plates and glasses were well stocked. I really liked the Kilauea burger and fries. The vegetarian Patty had great texture and flavor. Better than most places I have been to. Keep it up Islands!

How ecstatic I was to stumble upon to Islands, which took me back to my time when I was stationed in Hawaii as a missionary. The décor and the general Hawaiian vibe sent tingles through my body as I was ready to hang loose. We were sat down at the table and we were greeted(I use this word loosely and no, that was not a Hawaiian reference) by the rudest server I have ever come across in my many years of dining. She threw the coasters at us like shurikens, which I’m still recovering from(it needs more stitches) and took our drink order. She came back moodier than before and took our order. She came back with our order and to be fair the burgers were relatively good, although they were not cooked medium like we asked. As soon as I took my last bite she was quick to drop off the bill after offering us desert, which we obviously turned down because I could not bare to be in her presence any longer. She was quick to snatch the credit card as soon as it was placed on the table. Servers like this bring shame on what was once a respectable profession and it is because of people like this we are reminded that we are in the dark age of dining in America. I honestly wanted to kick her in the fanny after that. The burgers are ridiculously overpriced as well.

My car broke down in Folsom, so to make the best of a difficult situation, I took myself to lunch. The second I approached the door to the restaurant, the server from the bar rushed to open the door for me and some other customers. She had a beaming smile and immediately made me feel at home. I sat at the bar and watched her as she magically created a very friendly and warm atmosphere. I think her name was Kristie and she made my bad day bright. The food was solid, as in the ingredients tasted fresh and the cooks seemed to take care. This is a dependably good place to eat with a nice atmosphere. The food has burgers and tacos-simple dishes that aren’t excessively huge. I saw one couple eating what looked like some winning dessert.

I’ve lived in El Dorado Hills & Folsom almost my entire life, and I’ve never been to Islands before this evening. It was a great experience, from the host opening the doors for us, to the great waiter /busser. Although this isn’t the type of food I’d normally eat, they deserve a great review. The food was delicious… the chicken breast was cooked perfectly, and the amount of fries served is a generous amount.

Stopped in for a couple of beers after a long day. but they were more concerned with their monthly cleaning service than the customer. While I appreciate a clean place, that is what you do when your closed. Glad I tried the place to make it an easy off the list place.

The staff and bartenders are pretty great here, and the sports viewing vibe at the bar area is pretty lively. The happy hour specials(all day on football days) aren’t exactly the greatest of discounts, but they cover a wide variety of appetizers and drinks

Overall a good experience. Easy to get to from Hwy 50 off E Bidwell across from Palladio. Parking is usually pretty packed but doable. Seating was quick. We had a pretty large party and they split us up over 5 booths. Food was pretty decent. I was happy they have thick cut fries. I got the chicken sandwich which would be average but I ordered it with bacon and avocado. The bacon was good and they put half an avocado which was fresh. One of the biggest let downs was the PRICE. Super expensive for a burger type restaurant. The sandwich was $ 12 and add another $ 4 for the bacon comes out to$ 16. For four people we spent $ 85. Service was quick and server was friendly. I’ll be back the next time im craving thick cut fries :)

Was going to give Islands a shot again. Passed all the other good burger places in Folsom. Sat for 20 minutes waiting for a server to show up. Decided Red Robin would be more responsive and left.

Despite all the yummy food at the Unilocal Event at Palladio, still had room for Islands! First time at Islands was down in Long Beach, then at the short-lived Elk Grove location. I think there’s still one in Rocklin too? I got the Hula burger on wheat with fries, the bottomless passionfruit iced tea(emphasis on bottomless, thank goodness it was unsweetened! :) Waiter refilled my mug maybe three times!), and we shared the cheddar fries(I added bacon, because bacon). J. ordered the fish tacos special, if I recall. Those cheddar fries, just like I remember. Ate so much of those, couldn’t finish the side of regular fries that came with my meal. The Hula burger has mushrooms and swiss, very generous and satisfying. Sure missed it. TVs were showing some of the college football games, as well as surfers which added to the Hawaiian feel. 4 stars.

My husband and I have been here numerous times. We’ve always had a good experience and enjoy the atmosphere. Fast forward to our most recent visit last night. We had just come from a nearby Unilocal event but the restaurants there well very busy. So we decided to go to Islands. We were sat right away and greeted by our awesome server, Mitchell. Mitchell was very friendly, accommodating and attentive! I did subtract a star because the bar took quite a while to make our drinks. However, it was great that Mitchell still checked on us and let us know the bar was taking awhile but that they should be out soon. I love the Mai Tai’s at islands, my go to drink when there. And as usual the Mai Tai was delicious! We were too busy chatting to order and Mitchell came by a few times to see if we were ready, we felt bad that we hadn’t made up our minds but Mitchell was very understanding. We finally ordered. I had my usual the Hoisin bowl with chicken. It is a lot of food, decently priced and taste good. My husband had burger which he enjoyed as well. I’ve previously had their turkey burger which is really good, it has a lot of flavor and is a great alternative to a regular burger. We’ll continue to come back.

Arrived, today, a Tuesday’s night with the family. There are 5 of us. We arrived at 7:55pm, was greeted and walked to our table. After this everything went south. We waited until 8:07pm and walked out. No water, no service, no one said hello, or even acknowledged that were there. We were basically ignored by the waiting staff and servers. The one star is for the receptionist. We drove to Red Robin and was treated like really paying customers. We will not come back to Island Burgers! Updated: We were contacted by Harvey Burlison, General Manager, regarding our original review. Harvey offered us a gift card and invited us back to Islands. We went last Saturday at 7pm: the restaurant was packed, but our server, Mitch, was terrific. Drinks and Food were delivered promptly, he dropped by to check on us regularly, and was treated us well. Day and night!

It’s basically a Chili’s(insert any basic chain restaurant name here) hidden in Hawaiian garb! My burger was drenched in mustard, but I didn’t have the heart to say anything. However, J did and they comp’d my meal. I appreciated their customer service in that aspect, which is why they’ve earned 2 starts. If plain, chain food is your thing, then you’ll enjoy this place much more than I did. The food, it’s as chain resturanty as you would think. They try to make each item have a Hawaiian theme, but it really isn’t anything to Unilocal about. Flavors don’t pop and everything just seems fried and unhealthy. Go anywhere else and bring your own hula skirt and you’ll be much happier!

Island Burgers — lets give it a try. Came here last Friday night for family dinner and this place is fun! They have tv’s all over the place and decors are a nice touch. I ordered the shorebird — Grilled chicken breast, swiss, lettuce, tomato, pickles & mayo and cooked to perfection. Add some fries and a beer and I was happy. The food was good and the atmosphere was great. The servers were nice and polite. We told them that it was my daughter’s bday and they brought over a free chocolate lave — Fudge brownie topped w/vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup, whipped cream, roasted almonds & a cherry. Yes it was sweeeeetttt!!! Place is fun and lots of parking available. I will def come back :-)

I had the point break burger! The movie was defiantly better than the burger! All jokes aside the burger was decent… the meat patty was flavorful and the bleu cheese & caramelized bacon n onion mixture was decent!

This was my first Islands restaurant experience and I enjoyed it! Restaurant has a very cute tropical ambiance and a good selection of burgers, salads and tacos for lunch. I ordered the mahi mahi sandwich but they mistakenly brought me the mahi mahi tacos which I was fine with. They came with a pink sauce, cabbage, tomatoes. I had to add some salt for more taste but other than that, they were pretty good. The best part was the sweet potato fries! Crunchy and delish. Refillable soft drinks and good service.
