Holmes & Company officially started in 2012, when Laura decided to take the plunge and officially start building a practice. While doing this, she continues to work for a local CPA firm, expanding her knowledge. The future looks to transitioning into a full-​time practice, with continued dedication to clients. After graduating from California State University, Sacramento with a BS in Business Administration, concentrations in Accounting and International Business, I relocated to Seattle where I worked with two local CPA firms, developing my skills in Taxation and Bookkeeping. In Seattle, I graduated from Ashford University with a BA in Business Administration, concentrations in Finance and Economics. I bring experience from working with clients in various industries, including Health Care and Manufacturing. I am committed to bringing the most accurate accounting services to my clients and the best customer service possible. Laura is an Enrolled Agent, licensed to practice before the IRS.

Every so often you come across an individual who wears their integrity on their sleeve. Laura Holmes is just one of those people. What you see is what you get, and what you see and get with Laura is someone who is straightforward, sincere and genuinely connects with her communication. She is smart and when it comes to taxes, she knows her stuff.
I had always thought I needed a CPA to do my returns but Laura’s tax education and credentials makes that particular designation totally unnecessary.
It is not my practice to do reviews but I believe outstanding service should be recognized and complimented. We need more people on Earth like Laura Holmes.

You know, I just don’t get it. We went to Laura for our 2013 return because of her rave reviews. I don’t know how we ended up having such a terrible experience.
She showed up to our first meeting and said her mother was in town and she would really like to spend the day with her. We said we understood, so she took our stuff we had gathered for her and left. 3 weeks went by and no word, even though I called several times. My husband finally had to go to her home to get her to respond. We chose to have our taxes auto withdrawn from our account and she took our bank info. Weeks later we got an overdue notice. When I finally contacted her, she didn’t remember we wanted to auto pay. She did pay the penalty we incurred, so I appreciated that. Flash forward to today, 2015, and we just got a notice from the IRS saying we owe $ 190,815 for our 2013 taxes! Sorry this is long, but I wanted to detail the terrible experience we had, that is still haunting us today.

Laura is a lifesaver. She literally cut my taxes in half which was much needed! Couldn’t ask for anything better in an accountant. I was worried that I submitted my bank statements to Laura too late but Laura got it all done very quickly and put me at ease. Laura is friendly, timely, and extremely helpful. Let’s be honest. We all dread getting our taxes done, especially by a company we don’t know. There’s always that tiny voice in the back of our heads thinking… «What if they don’t know what they’re doing and I have to pay the price». It’s official, your fears have been squashed! I can’t rave enough about Holmes & Company! Laura goes above and beyond to ensure you get the most money back from both federal and state. If you work in the service industry, she handles all tips, income and write offs! Her knowledge of accounting is through the roof! I live in Orange County, and have had three jobs (along with unemployment) this last year. and all I had to do was email over the information, and wa la! I got a draft return email from her within 48 hours and my tax return directly deposited into my account shortly thereafter. So whether you’re close by, or a little further away, you can trust Holmes & Company to take care of all your tax needs. Laura was incredibly professional and efficient. Instead of spending frustrating hours trying to use software to fill out forms myself, I decided to have a professional do my taxes this year, and that was definitely a fantastic decision. It was an easy process, and Laura was willing to meet with us on a weekend since that was the only day that worked for my family. (Even my dogs loved her.) She explained the different calculations and credits and gave us tips on how to better handle our deductions and exemptions. She even offered to do a mid-​year projection to make sure we are on the right track for next year’s returns. I highly recommend Laura and will use her again next year.

As a graduate student and mom who also works part time, I really do not have the time to sit down and do my taxes, and it all tends to get a bit confusing. Laura has done my taxes for a number of years now and I am always impressed with how knowledgable she is and the deductions she is able to get me. It’s always nice to get more money back than I was expecting!!! Laura is also patient and she takes the time to walk me through all the steps needed to get them taken care of. I’m new to the Sacramento area after living in Stockton, CA for 9 years. I was looking for a tax professional that wasn’t anything like the «commercial tax offices».
