History

Established in 2003.

This is our third store and we are excited to be a part of the Folsom community. This is our largest store and we have added an Outdoor Living section exclusive to Folsom. We have full lines of high quality patio furniture, grills, umbrellas, decorative pottery and so much more. Not only do we have the Outdoor Living section, but we have the best quality plants in the area. Trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals, bedding plants, ground cover and of course edibles of all kinds. Over 60 varieties of tomatoes and 40 varieties of peppers!

Update:
Well my tree is dead (still looks pretty though) but the owner did contact me to offer a new tree and was very sweet. I’m going back to the nursery today with my mom who wants to get 3 trees there so hopefully better luck with these ones!!! Bumping from 1 to 3 stars because the owner is very thoughtful :)

Such a bummer! The nursery is beautiful and the staff is amazing and so helpful but unfortunately we got our Christmas tree there the day after Thanksgiving (wanted to get it early so it was up and decorated for our sons first birthday party the next weekend) and after only 5 days it’s already dropping and losing needles ‚(I am heartbroken because I know by Christmas it will be grey and totally crispy and ugly ‚(I knew it would get a little dry and droopy by Christmas because we got it a week earlier than usual, but after only FIVE DAYS??? This is the 6th year we have purchased our tree from Green Acres but we usually go to the one down in Sacramento and the trees are always so fresh and last forever!!! This is our first tree from the Folsom Green Acres and probably the last. Just so sad because the tree is one of our favorite parts of Christmas and it’s already looking dead ‚(

I had a bad customer service experience at the checkstand at the Elk Grove store, so I left without purchasing the items I came for. I then drove clear up to the Folsom store to purchase the same items. What I encountered there while checking out was even worse! I will be shopping elsewhere for my nursery and gardening needs…

All the staff are helpful and knowledgeable. The plants are well taken care of. Going through their outdoors section is like going through a maze — we got lost a few times! I was very impressed with their succulent selection. The prices are fair for the quality of plants sold. It’s definitely my go-​to place for buying plants.

I’m glad I bought my barbecue with them. Good selection and free next day delivery to my home. They are a very fancy store and I think they might be dangerous for me to go there too much because I will want to buy everything!
The only reason they don’t get five stars is because my daughter and I were walking around the barbecue section for a long time and many sales people passed but no one offered to help. Then I asked a lady at the counter for help and she said it isn’t her section and pointed to some people at the other side of the store. I said, all those people walked right by me and didn’t offer to help, so now I have to go and beg them for help? To her credit she went right over there and told them to move their asses or something because a guy came right over and was very helpful. So that’s just something they might want to look out for in the future. I spent a LOT of money there and almost walked out, so…
But other than that, really really good service. The delivery people were amazing and they get five stars.

Best plants in northern CA. Did you know this fun fact. Owners got The Mirage in Las Vegas to sell them the 20 yr old grand palms on the cheap Made enough to start a franchise Lucky to have them here Had one awful experience of an elderly friend who bought a. memorial tree. Never delivered. Spoke to a Mike at Roseville store. He was either arrogant or a surfer dude. Called Folsom store Spoke to Rebecca store manager She made it all good delivering live oak 3x size Great store. And hey we all have our off days

Not too impressed with this place. I decided to come here because Capital Nursery recently closed down. Really disappointed with this place because I was expecting a lot more. The furniture was poorly placed inside the store so some things you couldn’t try out. For example, a couch thing was behind a swing so you couldn’t swing on it and they had no hammocks out to try out.

We came here for a birthday present for someone’s garden and did not find what we were looking for (just their personal taste). However, they have fun garden décor, all your gardening needs, and a wonderful selection of garden plants to create and build whatever you want! Their prices are a bit high, which is the only reason why I am not rating 5 stars…
I will be back for plants, but not canning equipment! Their canning goods are three dollars more expensive per product than other places.

Been coming here for about a year now. While this place may not be the cheapest or have the widest variety they aren’t bad either. What really makes me come back to this place is the service oriented attitude of the staff. I also like it that I can bring my Greyhound Stella in for a visit and she is welcomed with open arms.

The employees are all very helpful and they will find an answer for you if they don’t know the answer! I love that! They don’t make up and answer nor do they just say «I don’t know» and walk away. I initially went to purchase plants, and found myself buying a Weber grill. The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. They went above and beyond, by providing me the service that makes me 100% satisfied. Tip: purchasing a grill=free assembly=free grill cover=free delivery! I don’t think competitors can beat that. I will be returning there again.

Nice selection and prices, but we’ve consistently had problems with the houseplants from here. Their response? «We don’t guarantee our plants.» No problem, other places do, I’ll just shop elsewhere.

The staff is very friendly and helpful if they can’t answer your question they stop what they’re doing and find someone who can. Awesome customer service and a very cool, relaxing atmosphere. Prices are not to high either.
The ONE thing that I would improve is that I would love it if Green Acres (or any other nursery in the Folsom /​Sacramento area, for that matter) carried more native plants.
I find the plants are a good value, yes you can find cheaper but then I’m talking of value/​quality not big box store cheap.
I will be recommending this place to friends and family, and will be going there for my own nursery needs to support the business. Thank you!

Greeeen Acres is the place for me!
Thanks to Holly and Brian I went to this El Dorado HIlls location (where we met up a little after brunch). . and it was SOO COOL!
This place is like a plant sanctuary!
Prices are a little higher than say Home Depot, but I feel like the quality of plants are better here.. .I could be wrong but we will see.
Customer Service was great, we were caught looking lost and an employee found us and helped us as if her life goal was to help us find a cool house plant.
We got a nice group of herbs stared, a few other pretty plants, and a cactus, we also bought our pots there. potting mix and plant food.. . no indoor plant though :/​
Good stuff, this is by far the best looking and the one with the biggest selection to go to. In Love!

What can I say about Green Acres? It’s a good nursery with great variety & pretty healthy plants. You can find pottery of every kind and any plant that you can possibly imagine. The plants are always in great condition and very healthy. We haven’t had a single plant die yet; although we haven’t gotten too many. They tend to be on the pricey side, but that’s ok … because you want the variety.
Now the bad. For me, the friendliness & availability of the staff is always key. Even though there are a million workers, it’s hard to get anyone to help you. Staff will just walk by without a «hello», «how are you doing?», «Are you finding everything you need?».
So, when you go here, expect to self service or spend some time trying to flag down a frowning employee. Personally, I prefer to take my business elsewhere.

I have been looking forward to visiting this store for quite some time now. My 3 yr old daughter and I made today the day to check it out! Now, my daughter is ridiculously well behaved in stores for a 3yr old, as it has been engrained in her since she was able to walk on her own.
I’d say a good 50% of the staff looked at both of us like she was out of control. One woman sitting at a desk in the furniture area literally glared at us so bad that it took some major control on my part to keep quiet. The scenario was this: there was a basket of fake apples on a bakers rack. My LO excitedly pointed at them to bring them to my attention… she didn’t even touch them! Apparently green acres moonlights as a library!
There was a guy watering plants that, when my daughter stopped to smell a flower (with her hands at her sides, mind you) actually stopped his watering, put his hand on his hip and gave an obvious (loud) pissy sounding sigh while watching her.
As for the rest of the employees, only ONE person said hello.
Never again Green Acres. Oh well.

Out of all the Green Acres locations, this one is the best and biggest!
I love coming here to look at indoor plants and décor. They have the best selection of indoor plants in the area, out of all the big box stores and nurseries this location is the best one I have found. Also, all the plants are healthy and thriving, I’ve never seen anything dying or near death. Yay!
If you stick to the smaller indoor plants the prices (for the quality) are pretty competitive ad justifiable. The bigger plants can be $ 27-​$ 50+ which I find to be a little on the expensive side so I tend to stay away from those.
They also have a GREAT selection of indoor décor and plant décor items, the best I have seen! They have African violets, orchids, terrarium supples, tillandsia, as well as various pots, toppers, décor etc.
Their outdoor plan selection is HUGE and cannot be beat! Some of the plants are a fair price like the indoor plants, just stay away from the rarer ones which can get super pricey!
Definitely come here if you are looking for any plants and plant related décor. It’s worth the stop and you may find something you didn’t even know you were looking for!

My husband and I were in search of a patio umbrella for our new patio dining table that we got from Home Depot. Yes, we were a little late with our patio dining table purchase which meant that Home Depot, Cost Plus World Market, Pier1 Imports, Bed, Bath and Beyond did not carry anymore umbrellas! My husband suggested that we try to find some at Green Acres since it was literally 5 minutes from our house and filled with tons of outdoor products!
Parking was super easy, they have a HUGE parking lot! We went there at about 6:30 PM on Saturday night (probably almost closing time). We walked in and looked through all their great stuff. Wow! Such an assortment of cool gardening tools, seeds, plants, fertilizers, outside décor, gnomes and more! I just feel so happy in there!
We actually not only find what we were looking for, but it was a pretty good deal too! There were so many colors and styles of umbrellas that I was overwhelmed. The customer representative that rang us up was really nice as well.
Minus one star for the other worker that gave us a dirty look when we walked into the store towards the end of the night. He was taking the water out of the wooden post in the middle of the parking lot and did not look happy that we were going into the store. Yikes, what’s your problem?
Otherwise, great store and I hope to come back for more items for our home, minus the negative attitude walking in.
