As I entered the salon, the workers looked up but only two voices greeted me (not even sure who it was). I told them I called in for a gel mani about 15 – 20 mins ago and I was seated.
A women (unsure of her name, she wasn’t wearing a name tag) started to soak off the gel nails I had on. At other nail salons, they would usually wrap my finger with foil, however, they had clips over my fingers. I didn’t like didn’t like this at all because of various reasons: 1) it hurt — it was squeezing and cutting the circulation off my fingers, 2) it fell off my fingers accidentally when the women asked me to move to another chair. The lady then got up and went to do a regular mani on this girl two seats over – uuh ok?
Usually, the manicurist would give me the color choices before the removal of gel, but she forgot to give them to me. After 10 minutes of sitting there, thinking she’s give it to me since she said she would, she didn’t. I asked her for the colors and it was difficult to «pick up» the color wheels with 10 clips on your fingers! After 30 mins of sitting, another woman named Mary sat down and started removing the clips /​the gel. I told Mary that my nail was breaking at the end and I thought I’d have to cut my nails short. She resolved my problem by applying a little nail glue and filing it in, keeping the square shape — free of charge & an easy fix. Earlier, with the other woman when I told her she asked me If I wanted some silk nail repair or something like that — meaning more $$; sorry no thanks broke college student as is.
Mary started my gel mani and did a great job. However, I thought it was weird the way she did it. Usually, my manicurists would start from the pinky to the thumb, then put it under light. Mary painted my thumb of my right hand, put it under the light, and then my left hand’s thumb. Then the pinkies, under the light. Then the middle and pointer finger. I thought it was strange, but the end result was great.
I would definitely recommend to come at non-​peak/​busy hours. Luckily, I was quickly seated since I called ahead but a bunch of others came in after and had a wait time. Also, another big plus — lots of color choices for the gel mani!

One star because there is no such thing as no star. This place is horrible. They’re so rude and always in a rush! Even when no one is there. And honestly I think they’re racist because of their behavior. Everyone else got treated so nicely except the brown girls.
I went on Friday with three other girls and we spent about $ 100 each getting uv gel and they were like we gonna pay, we gonna pay? Like of course if I’m getting something done then I’m going to pay. Then, to top it off, they were rushing while doing us. I rather you deny us than do a shitty. They were closing so they didn’t do my cousin’s pedicure. They charged me full price and didn’t even put gel color on my nails and instead put regular color and told me to come back and today when I came back they charged me. Like what the hell? Additionally, my cousin’s nails came off! UV gel anywhere else lasts two weeks and it came off after THREE days. And on top of that, they were being especially rude when we were like don’t forget you owe us this. It was just a horrible experience. I wouldn’t have come back today if they didn’t owe us so much to do. I recommend you go to Kris which is about 10 minutes away and do things beautifully.

Recommended by my friend, and I finally got a chance to go. The place is very clean, and the ladies are very professional. I was greeted the minute I walked in and being seated. The lady did an amazing job on my nails! Definitely will return!!!

Have been coming here for a while now, had my pedi and mani done by Julia, unfortunately she’s gone now, and Fakunda (sorry don’t know how to spell her name properly). But by far the best pedi was done by Brenda! She is so meticulous, and so nice, just awesome !!! My new go to girl!

This is my go to place!!! They place is clean, ladies are friendly and they do a great job. I have no issues and love them! If you live in the area def worth a try.

I must say I’m in love with this nail salon. It was my second time of many to come. I love the environment and hiw relaxing it feels to be in there. Im full of excitement to finally fund a nail salon to be faithful too im definitely satisfied of getting my nails done here for my birthday this weekend. See you guys in 2 weeks. p. s. This was my go to salon when I lived close by and when it was «Jackie’s Nails». Each time was amazing there. I’m really pleased to say that along with the new ownership, the craftsmanship has remained the same!
However, although I love the customer service and work done, I left here with fungus in my toe!
I was so disappointed. After notifying my mother, she then told me the same had happened to her any time she has come here:(
Since my last visit i’ve been hesitant to come here based on my painful experience. Perhaps they can invest in proper hygiene tools. Such as plastic inserts for the tubs, and truly sanitizing their tools. Also using prepackaged nail files and buffers.

This is a review for an eyelash extension done back in December 2015.
I came here for eyelash extensions and it was the worst experience! First, I got there on time for my appointment and I was waiting around for 20 minutes because apparently they forgot I was there for eyelash extension. This should have set off a red flag. Second, the technician was not licensed and inexperienced. Third, the whole process took over 2 hours. Fourth, when it was done I couldn’t open my eyes because there was too much glue. I ended up having to rub off and remove the extensions including my own eyelashes. All in all, don’t come here for eyelash extensions.

Stopped by because of their $ 20 gel manicures! The salon is large, clean, and boasts dozens of gel colors, including non-​gel matching polish for the toes. My manicurist was very detailed and meticulous, which is important. I had a little bit of gel remaining on my nails but she easily filed them away.
They have pedicure packages that come with a callous removal, an additional foot scrub/​soak, and a regular manicure starting at $ 36. They have a «menu» of all their pedicure packages. I wasn’t able to pay for an upgrade to the gel manicure so this package didn’t seem to be worth it. I got the basic pedicure ($ 16) and callous removal (+$ 10) instead. It was my first pedicure and although it was a great experience (massage chairs!), it seemed expensive to me and didn’t come with a massage. My pedicurist tried really hard to remove my callouses since I’m on my feet most of the time but sadly she was only able to soften them and they came back 2 days later.
The staff are pretty sweet, minus the woman in charge of the money. She’s intimidating but keeps the place running smoothly. I would hate to be her customer though since she’s always tending to phone calls, payments, or problems (like when a nail polish bottle got knocked over and spilled onto the floor). The poor girl under her care had a photo of a new nail design that she wanted to try and she messed it up by painting the wrong nail. I also wouldn’t trust her with my money since she can’t add accurately. She gave me the wrong change and insisted that my total was higher than it actually was until my manicurist corrected her. Asides from her, I was highly impressed with the other people working here. The staff doing the manicure for the girl next to me knelt on the floor to fix the smudged polish on her toe nail. The other ladies also tend to not gossip as much (or as loudly) in Chinese as other nail salons (although they do from time to time). Not sure if that’s the culture here or if I just lucked out on that day.
I would come back to Shangri for the $ 20 gel manicure. It’s been 2 weeks since my manicure and they haven’t chipped! They also have a weekday early bird regular mani/​pedi special for $ 18 if I’m ever in the area and want to give my nails a break from gel and UV/​LED light.

I went to Shangri for the very first time today to get a gel manicure and I think this might be my go-​to nail salon from now on! I got there at around 11:30 on a Friday morning and they had quite a few customers there already but I didn’t have to wait. All the ladies greeted me, as well as every customer who came in after me, with a warm hello.
The place is very spacious and clean. Everything seems organized and their stuff are all stored in little plastic bins.
I didn’t catch the name of the lady who did my nails but she was very detailed which is greatly appreciated. I already had gel polish on my nails when I came in and she took the time to help me remove it. She made sure to scrape every last bit of the gel polish before putting on the new color that I picked. Then, while she paints my nails, she is very careful and she takes her time doing it so it’s definitely not rushed at all. There are absolutely no streaks and no blotchy patches anywhere on any of my nails. I didn’t ask for designs this time, just a plain coat of the polish but if she takes that much time and effort to do a plain coat of polish, then I can only imagine how careful she’d be if I had asked for designs.
I also had a pretty bad rip on my thumb nail and I asked her if there’s anything she can do about it because I really didn’t want my nails to get cut so she helped me glue my nail and it looks as if it’s never been ripped at all :)
My total came out to be $ 20 before tipping but I’m not sure how much designs are. however I’d definitely be coming back!

Replying to the owners comment. Just fyi, I dont think giving an attitude to your customer on Unilocal is a good idea. Yes, your workers pressured me to get the spa pedi when I told them a several times that I dont like spa pedi for my personal reason. They kept saying «we have a special so it wont be much difference in price». I remember being asked at least 8 times, if I was sure. And yes, my mani pedi was super rushed.

this is the place I go to first before any salon. all four of the ladies I’ve been taken care of by, are great. Lisa left my nails to my satisfaction. they look black in the picture but it’s a Wicked red, the color I’ve saved to do for the fall! the shape I wanted is a hard shape to get right but Lisa came close to it haha. she automatically knew my nails are real thin and sensitive and she did THE carefullest and lightly job I’ve ever gotten done on my thin cursed nails! thank you Lisa

I’ve been coming to this salon regularly since last winter and one of the reasons I keep coming back is the place clean and is up to date. I’ve always been satisfied with my mani and pedi.
Customer service though is a different issue-​and this is where I will focus my review on. Every time I come here I have to always wait at least a good 15 – 20 minutes before being attended to. I usually do not care but this particular visit was different because I only had an hour to spare because I only had a sitter for an hour.
I told Vicky from the get go that I will only do a regular mani/​pedi, she asked why I wasn’t going to have my usual tips /​gel mani, I answered that I was in a hurry. She had me sit in the chair to get started with the pedicure (she had my feet soaked in the foot spa machine but the actual pedicure did not start until after 20 minutes later). I did not complain. But when I requested to have calluses shaven the lady told me it was $ 10 extra. I told her Vicky only charged me an extra $ 3 previously. Vicky comes over and tells me that she can’t do that anymore because she will get a ticket. (Why would you get a ticket for shaving a customer’s callous that she specifically requested? Is this. a new rule being implemented in all other nail salons?-I don’t even know) I asked what the difference was and she started up selling me this other procedure that was for an additional $ 10. I would’ve said yes-​like I always do when she up sells me, but I was already cutting the time too close since no one attended to me for a good 20 minutes.
She started speaking in her language-​which they always do in front of the customers –rude!!! And while I may not understand what she says I do know it’s about me, hello! I’m not stupid!
So when the pedi was done, I proceeded to the table for the mani, I told the lady I still had gel mani on. She let out a big sigh-(again, rude) and proceeded to wrap aluminum foil on my finger nails to remove the gel polish. Before she started applying the actual nail polish she asked me if I wanted to pay and I asked how much she gave me a breakdown of the price and told me that the gel polish removal was $ 5-​to which I just replied to with «wow». Really? You were on the friggin phone with your headset taking a personal call while doing your job but you didn’t have the decency to tell me before hand that gel polish removal was an extra charge? You could have told me from the start that you will charge for that instead of telling me after the fact. Why do they ladies at this nail place do this by the way? Take personal calls while doing people’s nails? Isn’t that unprofessional? I mean to take an urgent call I get but actually have a conversation with your headset while attending to a client’s nails?
Side Note: One lady also complained about the long wait in the chair right after I did. Vicky only said «it’s coming» and said we are just soaking your feet to which the lady said but 20 minutes is too long to just soak your feet. Ha! I mean for crying out loud just be upfront with your customers-​if it will take a while tell them. Don’t give them false hopes and say that you’ll be next when clearly you are short staffed and could not handle the influx of customers.
Rethinking of I should go back or just try The other nail salon that’s just a block away from me. Oh well, not my loss.
To the owner, please recalibrate your staff because they need to learn proper customer service skills especially the lady that did my nails.

First time here, walked in and got lucky with Megan. She was fantastic! Even with language barrier, she understood me. I recommend this place cause its CLEAN!

The prices are cheap ($ 7 for a regular manicure) but my service felt a little rushed. I called in ahead of time for an appointment at 7:30, and the lady who took care of me said she was leaving at 8. My nails weren’t filed down smoothly and the paint chipped after two days (despite waiting for it to dry completely for almost an hour and applying their quickdry). I ended up erasing the nail polish after three days because it chipped so much. I don’t work any heavy duty jobs, don’t wash dishes barehanded, and generally have no reason for my nails to be stressed — so there really was no explanation for the chipping except that it was a mediocre job. Will return if I need a one day nail job that’s cheap (aka a wedding or event I need to attend).

My new nail spot! Ladies were SO nice and attentive. Felt like I was coming here for years!!! I got a gel French plus pedi and my teen daughter got pedi plus teen tips. They give a discount for teen tips and facials. Love them, and I’m super picky!!!

I’ve been meaning to change nail salons for a while now. I tried Shangri’s today!
I have to say I’m pretty satisfied with my experience. It was a quick visit for a gel manicure done by Julie!
I was greeted by the owner with a smile, she proceeded to check who was available and I was told to sit by Julie. She seemed a little tough at first but she’s a sweetheart! 30 mins later, my nails look great, I got a great massage, and I can’t wait to go back in 2 weeks (yes, I made an appointment before leaving!!).

It is a great salon, I came here several times and always bring a new person with me because I’m convinced I will make this their favorite salon!
It’s clean and huge, has completely new equipment and nail polish colors.
I had one negative experience here when I brought my sister and they ignored us and made us feel uncomfortable but
I am willing to put that behind me, the owner is extremely professional and took my concern when I previously ranted about how degrading my most recent experience was.
It’s the best cleanest and Best pedicure you can get around the bayside flushing area, tips are great too.
Give it a try and you might love it

Always enjoy my visits here. I’ve been here a couple of times already and have had Ivy, Shine, or Emily do my nails. All are extremely nice and attentive.
I’ve only done Gel manicures here ($ 20) and soak off has no additional charge! A great variety of gel colors to choose from. I like how they do a beautiful and careful job reach time. Always paint very close to the cuticles which I prefer when my nails start to grow out. Absolutely chip free for at least a week to two weeks. Relaxing and clean place which I enjoy very much as well.
They offer stamp cards as well so don’t forget to ask for one.
