I gave it a 4 star because I only had a chance to get take out from this hole in the wall restaurant. I often pass by and notice that it’s packed off Cherry and Kissena. The hand-pulled noodles were fresh and chewy. Service was fast and the food was nicely portioned. Soup noodles are supposed to be just as good. This place needs to be reviewed again on my next trip.

YESSS, Beef/Beef Tendon Hand pulled noodle, AMMAZEBALLS! Location has crappy parking that’s usually really full but seriously delicious soup with the hand pulled noodle. Great for an unnecessary cold day. Their fried dumplings are also great!

Great local restaurant, looks like its run by husband and wife. The fried dumplings never disappoint. And the fish ball in soup is great if you want a small snack.

Parking around here between 5 – 6 is a pain in the neck with the traffic and the apt complexes! I got the #1 house special noodles in house special soup(or something along those lines). It was basically hand pulled noodles w/beef, beef tripe, beef tendon, tea egg and 1 – 2 lil pieces of choy. The noodles here were a little too chewy. The broth was nice and sweet, but I was really thirsty afterwards(maybe it’s the MSG). The tripe, beef tendon, and beef were okay. Some of it had a slightly weird smell/taste to it… which. if it was fresh/correctly treated. shouldn’t be the case. Overall, a decent meal, but I wouldn’t go out of my way with the parking situation to go here again.

I stopped in twice when I was by the eye doctor and the waitress was very nice and spoke English a bit, too. I came for the eggplant in garlic sauce, that is why I am giving this place 5 stars. It is among the best eggplant I ever had. This place makes it so different yet soooo good. I asked for extra scallions and they accommodated my request. So great and unique yet so affordable.

Authentic atmosphere and cuisine, big portions, friendly staff and excellent prices. We came here for lunch and the fairly small place was filled to the brink. I wouldn’t probably go out of my way to come here, but it’s definitely worth the stop if you find yourself in the area.

Red Mountain being a half mile down Kissena Blvd from Roosevelt Ave isn’t as popular as some of the other hand-pulled noodle shops up near the 7 train, but it’s just as good. Prices have gone up lately by a dollar or two, due to the noodle craze and inflated prices these days. They’re open late until 11pm! These are some hardworking people, so I’m glad to give them my business. You might even score a street parking space so that you can run in to grab your order. Even if you don’t order in advance, they can whip up an order in no time flat! The beef noodle soup is solid and the seafood noodle is pretty good as well. Just be careful of the shrimp. The heads are still on and they have sharp mandibles, when you bite their heads off and shell them. The noodles themselves have the perfect texture and just the right amount of chewiness. The broth is the perfect accompaniment to the noodles, bringing all the flavors together. If the noodles aren’t enough of a meal for you, then get an order or two of either steamed or pan-fried dumplings. Everything is made as fresh as can be, so you can’t really go wrong with anything you order from the menu.

Every time I tried hand pulled noodles in other restaurants, I wasn’t really feeling them. Today I decided to give it one more chance after stumbling upon this restaurant. I was greeted with a smile right away and was given the option to sit anywhere I like. I observed the restaurant to be small but clean. I ordered the Fresh Pork Hand Pulled Noodles Soup and I really enjoyed it. The chicken broth was not too salty but still had flavor. Pork had flavor as well but I could’ve done it without the bones. All in all it was a great bowl of soup for a rainy day. I will return in the future. Oh and it’s a cash only joint.

The beef tendon and beef soup was just ok, as was the oxtail soup noodle soup. Fried dumplings was a little greasy and not much better than the frozen ones you buy from Asian markets. I don’t think they were handmade. I came here because of the good/great ratings but I think it’s just good, not great. Service was good and accommodating. Not much ambiance, more like a Chinese take out feel.

The hand-pulled noodles are delicious! Perfect texture and chewiness. The beef and shredded pork are very tender. Seafood noodle soup was not bad, wasn’t enough variety of protein though. This place will def be my to go spot if I crave for hand-pulled noodles. Fried dumplings are delicious also!

This place definitely deserve more than 3 stars. The food here is really good! We got the pork chop noodle soup, the fish ball noodle soup, & an order of fried dumplings(10 pcs). Wow! They were all really good, way better than we expected! The noodle, the soup, the fish ball, the pork chop, everything was just absolutely delicious! They’re just perfect! We love the fried dumplings here. The skin is slightly crispy, the meat has a lot of flavor, but not too greasy, just perfect! The service was great & fast! The guy who took our order was friendly & polite. The place is small. The décor is nothing special, just like any other typical neighborhood Chinese restaurant. Generous portion! We were hungry when we went in. We left the place feeling happy, full, & satisfied. All total, we spent about $ 15. It was definitely well worth it! Highly recommended! We’ll definitely go back!

Don’t know why this place only has a little over 3 stars. IMHO it’s pretty damn good. Fresh, fast, inexpensive but not cheap food. I’ve had a number of variations of their noodles and all have been satisfying. Moving on to some of their rice dishes and apps. Hopefully those will be just as good.

Pros: 1. Cheap 2. Fast service 3. Decent taste 4. Large portion Cons: 1. Does not seem like a very clean place. The chief brings out bowls of noodles behind the drawn curtains from the kitchen and who knows what that looks like. Granted, you are in Flushing. 2. I question whether the noodles are really hand drawn. They look too uniform to be hand drawn. BUT, the noodle doesn’t taste bad. I got the chewy and thin kind. 3. You drink the soup with small plastic spoon. From reading other Unilocaler’s reviews, it seems like the place is making improvements. Please buy some soup spoons and get rid of the plastic spoons. Those are good for scooping sauces, not okay for noodle soup. Come with an empty stomach and a couple bucks(you are in Flushing, so try to bring cash. It might be cash only actually), and you will leave pretty happy :-).

Pros: cheap, nice staff, decent soup noodles, dumplings are surprisingly good Cons: no frills, the wife’s stir fried seafood noodles smelled like feet… not doing anything that’s not in soup here. Update: Added a star because of the new updated menu. No more service in plastic tins… they invested in actual bowls. New recipes for rib soup, stir fried noodles have been reinvented and much tastier now. It’s far better than my last review. Owner’s are making an effort to improve.
