******Note: this location has closed and they moved to a new location under the name: kono chicken***** The portions are generous and I say go for the spicy instead of the original. Great service and the price is basically the same as kyochun but you get more meat on your chicken with kyedong. I also suggest sticking to just the chicken. Husband and I were fans of the chicken enough to try their jokbal and… that was a mistake. The jokbal was basically all fat and almost inedible.

My favorite delivery place in town! One day I was craving for pork’s feet. I searched for it on gg and found out it’s called ‘jokbal’ in Korean. I had some friends coming over but they seemed not to be interested in that stuff. Luckily I found this place that serves both friend chicken and jokbal. We ordered a combo 2(large fried chicken + medium pork feet) plus 13 pcs wings and drumsticks. The jokbak is really good. It’s both soft and chewy at the same time, and not too fatty. The fried chicken is pretty decent. I’d prefer the drumsticks than wings. And their hot fried chicken gets really hot so be ware when u order. Can make it half/half. A good place for those who suddenly feel they are too lazy to get out of the house, like me.

Came here with a friend for lunch on Saturday. We split the fried chicken(wings+drumsticks) and picked the Soy Garlic sauce. It also comes with fries(we were about to accidentally order another order of fries). The wait for the food was fairly long, but if they’re making it fresh, I do not mind as much. The fried chicken was crispy and moist on the inside. The soy garlic sauce was flavorful and fragrant. The pieces themselves were large— so more meat! Not sure what more you could ask for in fried chicken. The fries were nice and crunchy, but I would have wanted a bit of salt on mine. Still miss Bayside Chicken’s fries… Prices may change, but for 16pc mix, it was 21 dollars after tax. Not bad at all if you prefer quality over the cheaper alternative of KFC across the street. Will definitely come here again. The only bad thing about this place is probably the décor. I realize they are tight for space, but if you have two kegs, a high chair for babies, and other miscellaneous items in the already small bathroom, there are issues.

Great place for takeout or dine-in. Love the fact that they have both korean fried chicken, my favorite being the soy sauce flavored, and pork belly and pig feet. One great thing about Kyedong is their portions. It is much more compared to other korean chicken places like kyochon. Definitely worth your money.

When you’re in the mood for Korean fried chicken, pork belly, and pork feet all at once(which is surprisingly more often than one might think), this is the joint you want. In fact, if you just want to pig out in the most Korean way, or just looking for kick-ass food to go with your glass of cold beer, I highly recommend Kyedong. At first glance, it’s easy to miss, it’s a hole in the wall among the busy street that is Northern Blvd, shadowed behind the more popular Korean fried chicken franchises like Bön chon and Mad For Chicken. However this is the only place that I know that also has the delicious pork dishes and Soondae options. Fried chicken — crispy outside and tender inside, like they’re supposed to be. Served in a frying pan with fries — I think this helps it stay warm and crispy longer. Nice touch. Pork belly — I personally prefer them wrapped in cabbage leaves(more traditional) instead of lettuce like how they serve them here, but the texture of the meat and flavor of the brine more than makes up for it. A must try. I also like how they set up menu options for different combination of dishes so you can get a taste of different items.

This restaurant is located on a strip of nothing but Korean restaurants. This place differs from other Korean Fried Chicken places in that it offers pork belly and pork feet. The restaurant is relatively small and it seemed like the clientele was older generation Korean. I am kinda on the fence about this place since the chicken grease was nauseating and flavor of the chicken was a tad too sweet. I do like the fact that they have combo meals where you can stuff your face silly with a good variety of food, the prices weren’t that bad either. The food: Combo 7– chicken+ pork feet+ pork belly. The pork feet had good flavor and the pork belly as well but they really didn’t have much taste, even with the addition of the condiments, they were a little too simple. The fattiness of both pork items were hamtastic, though. The chicken seemed greasy, the flavor was ok but too sweet, the crunch on the chicken was decent. The chicken seemed kinda dry.

Crispy Fried Outside — Juicy Moist Inside If you are looking for crispy chicken wings that are moist and tender, look no further. The fried chicken dishes(haven’t had anything else) are served in frying pans with a healthy portion of amazing fries. The soy garlic is always the go to when ordering Korean style fried chicken. The crispiness and the flavor of the fries were well beyond my expectations(didn’t really have any to begin with). Portions are above average in comparison to other restaurants I have been to in the area(in comparison to price). For some reason I really enjoy the fact they serve the wings in a frying pan. It’s a nice touch and it separates them from everyone else. The overall service was solid, but as the crowd in the small restaurant started growing it was harder to grab the attention of the servers. However since they seemed to be understaffed that day, I will let it slide. They were all friendly and helpful enough to compensate for any misgivings. The ambiance(when I visited a few months ago) was lacking. It reminded me of a Chinese takeout restaurant where a quarter of the seats are used as storage for the supplies rather than the patrons. However as long as the food is good(which it is) and the restaurant is clan and sanitary(which it is) I don’t care what they do. Overall: 3.75 Stars The fried chicken has a good flavor. It is by far the most tender/juicy/tender chicken I’ve had from any fried chicken restaurant. The service is friendly, but occasionally goes missing in action. The décor is very Chinese fast food, but clear and nicer.(It has been a few months since I have eaten here, the décor may have changed. I suggest ordering big and taking food home. Enjoy the leftovers as a midnight snack or lunch the next day. However if you want to be a little more adventurous, eat them for breakfast. With all the popups and expansions of Korean Style Fried Wings, I recommend trying out Kyedong. The way they serve their dishes and the fries are reason alone.

I love this cute, hidden chicken spot. They have combo specials that are definitely worth it. The amount of food you get from the combos is enough to share with a party of four. I love the soy garlic chicken and their french fries are absolutely addicting. The staff is friendly and pretty attentive. The last time I went, our water jugs were never empty. They swaped it a few times even without my party and I noticing.

Despite that I get called savage constantly because I tend to inhale the first half of my meal, this isn’t quite a place I would return to. While it was good(I did taste the latter half of my meal) it’s not all that memorable. With all the Korean soy chicken places, this place hardly makes it the best. The chicken meat was dry although the flavor while sweeter than most places, was okay. The pork platter, the pig feet and belly were good, but again, there are too many places in the area that are better. For a very early Saturday afternoon, the mix of patrons were quite odd as well. Not a place worth revisiting, but glad to have tried to say I’ve tried.

Great small place on Northern Boulevard for korean fried chicken! Though parking maybe be a little hard to find, this place is great for takeout and during less busy times it is easy to find a table to sit. Great things to try are the Soy Sauce fried chicken and pig feet. The«Hot» fried chicken is a bit too spicy for my taste but if you want to try it go for it! The pig feet is fatty tender and juicy and for those that are releuctant to try«feet» you wont be dissappointed.

Omg!!! Hands down the best place for Korean fried chicken. Their pieces are big and juicy. You really get your money’s worth. This place never disappoints. Try the whole chicken, it’s a great value and good for next days lunch.

My go to place. For Jokbal and Bossam. They should change their name to the Best Pork Dishes in Flushing. Done. Yeah they got chicken too. But who eats chicken when they have pork?

My family’s go to place for Korean style fried chicken.(We sometimes trek all the way from Long Island) Both their soy sauce and spicy options are good. Meat is always cooked through and juicy, and the outside is crispy and flavored well. Their boh-ssam(braised pork belly) is also very good; well cooked and doesn’t have that funny smell that pork sometimes has when the meat isn’t fresh. French fries are also pretty good(crispy, big portions).

Having tried most of the KFC places in NYC, I have to say Kyedong is my favorite of the lot. The chicken here is slightly smaller but the flavor is bigger and it’s not just the chicken that’s good here. A group of us Unilocalers + our significant others descended upon this place like aliens invading planet earth ready to inhale every last sustenance producing organism. They put two tables together for our group of 9 and we took up about one third of the restaurant. As is often the case with big groups, some people came in quite late but the restaurant never rushed us. Besides, we kept a steady order of $ 13 Killian’s pitchers and some food while others slowly made their way in. In total, we ordered a combo #2 special(pig feet + pork belly) and 3, maybe 4 separate large orders of fried chicken with both the soy/garlic and spicy flavors. The chicken was perfectly crispy and juicy with very well balanced flavors. The spicy ones weren’t that spicy and but if you want it spicier, they can make it to your level of spiciness. Each order of chicken came with fries. I can’t say enough good things about those fries. Combo#2 was a also very well received by everyone. The pig feet was cooked perfectly with most of them de-boned. Another nice surprise was the pork belly which were thinly sliced and better than what I expected. The quality of the pork was decent and it had a good ratio of lean to fat. Can’t ask much more than that. After our meal ended, a few people from our crew left but most of us stayed back drinking bottles of soju. I think we ordered 4 bottles but they comp’d us 2 more. By my best soju induced estimate, we spent a total of 5 hours at this place. WHAAAA??? Yep. it was the $ 8 soju bottles and the awesome service that kept us there long after we had finished our meal.

Tiny place but more importantly tiny wings and tiny drums and tiny legs that were soggy upon delivery. I’ve had mad for chicken, bon chon and kyo chon all of which have delivered crispy meaty deliciousness. I had a friend from out of town and thought«hey I haven’t ordered from here in a while and I wanted him to experience Korean fried chicken». Big mistake. It came rather quickly but the pieces were tiny and soggy. I understand that fried food does not travel well but I’ve had Bön chon the day after, cold from the fridge and it still had a crisp to it. I can honestly say that I will never order from here again. It might taste better in the store. These wings were not freshly fried. They tasted like they were cooked ahead of time and then refried. A tip to the owners, you may want to use the vent on your delivery boxes so that the steam can escape and the wings might be crispy upon delivery.

1 star off because this place isn’t any bigger… which isn’t really their fault, so pls still regard this as a 5-star review! =D So… on 2 occasions when we came here, they were out of pork belly… which is fine since we opt’d for the pig feet(which is bad cuz now we NEVER wanna try the pork belly anymore, WHAT?!). My first visit here w/the dudes was cuz my coworker’s been telling me to try kyedong for their bigger, meatier wings — although not as spicy as KyoChon, but that’s small matter. Tip #1– if u r hungry, u can call ahead to order(about 20 mins) Tip #2 — get the pork feet. The gelatin is esp good for the ladies. The meat is good for the gents(cuz who doesn’t like meat?!) Tip #3 — if u like ur wings spicy, ask for EXTRAEXTRA spicy.(I’d give that 3.5 stars outta 5 on spice lvl) Tip #4 — get Killian beer! It’s very light and smooth, but we all loved it: D We also really enjoy the garlic-y radish/kimchee, and French fries sidedishes. Our usual is medium combo #2 that feeds 4 just fine!

For the purposes of statistical reliability — VERILY, INTHENAMEOFSCIENCE — I had to come to Kyedong repeatedly over a short period of time to confirm its awesomeness. This tiny space is humbler than other Korean fried chicken places, but packed on the days and times you’d expect. On a Saturday night once, I was actually directed to their sister location(Kono) a few blocks south, since the Kyedong staff determined that one of the 7 tables opening up was too much to hope for. No, they don’t have a stocked bar like BonChon, or the cheery-mod interior of KyoChon, or the extensive non-chicken menu of Mad for Chicken. …But you know what? They’ve got chicken. Plentiful, inexpensive, and excellent chicken. Isn’t that what we’re here for? You know about Korean fried chicken, right? Chicken coated in a sticky, garlicky glaze that hardens into a thin shell that magically replaces the skin? It is soooo perfect here. Big, hot, juicy, somewhat more conservatively glazed. Not tiny(ahem, K-town KyoChon). Not burnt(ahem, K-town BonChon). Not cold(ahem, Flushing KyoChon). Not dry(ahem, 2nd Ave BonChon). The coating on Kyedong’s chicken is a little lighter than how most others make it: still delightfully crisp, but thinner and not as sweet or salty. For how well the chicken is prepared, the less assertive flavors are a good choice. I mean, would you rather have Doritos or a really good tortilla chip?(Don’t answer that.) Likewise, Kyedong’s «spicy» is not very spicy. You usually do half soy garlic and half spicy? Opt for all spicy here. Platters arrive with your chosen chicken parts arranged in a random frying pan. The pan is carpeted with french fries, in case the dopamine assault on your brain heretofore wasn’t enough. Time for a PSA: Weeks ago, a couple who left after we were seated left most of their food on the table, uneaten: pork belly, an entire plate of kimchi, a pile of chicken. I was hoping some intrepid waiter would secret it away in his bus tub, but nope! In with the trash it went! Let me be honest: I wanted to punch them both. WHOARETHESEPEOPLE??? To everyone: If you still have massive quantities of untouched food remaining, wrap it up! Take it somewhere! Eat it later! Give it to ANYONE! Don’t just pick cutely at it… UGHSHITLIKETHATMAKESMESOANGRY …Anyway, Kyedong is awesome on multiple fronts — most importantly, the quality of the chicken — and has rocketed to the top of my KFC list despite its limited menu. Go there; revel and luxuriate. Just don’t be an anal sphincter(technical term, duh) and waste great food.
