had a disappointing meal and saw that there was a KFT nearby – so naturally we had to balance it out. I have yet to be disappointed from this place – the milk tea with the red bean or the milk tea with the jelly and bubbles.
at the flushing spot we also got a taro bubble tea and it was good – usually i worry that the tea wont be make properly so the tea would be chalky or flavor would be off from too much or too little mix or the bubbles would be undercooked – but here they seem to be on top of it.
The one in the city is usually our go to when we have a craving.

This Taiwanese boba shop is delicious and infecting the boroughs of NYC. I just saw one in lower manhattan the other day. I have the option of enjoying it in my borough of Brooklyn. But this is the first place I’ve tried Kung Fu Tea and it doesn’t disappoint.
I can’t help but gravitate to the original and its very good. Light and sweet but not too sweet. Boba just the right texture and flavor.

I was seriously convinced that the east coast was devoid of good bubble tea. I’m ashamed to say that was one of my biggest apprehensions about moving there. Sure i’ll be skinnier, have more money and what not but I NEED MY BUBBLE TEA. SORRY.
I was SO THRILLED when my friend recommended this place. I just get the regular milk tea with boba (I tried some green bean green tea junk and was not pleased) but their milk tea with boba is just perfect :) Chewy sweet boba balls with refreshing non diluted milk tea. Im in heaven! And Its so much fun watching the machine powered cocktail shakers: D

I like their milk teas. I think they have the best milktea in flushing area. I like how it has the special flavor tea base and adds powder sugar and milk to make a milk tea. However, the milktea could get kinda oily and too sweet if you drink for a while. I recommend to get less sugar with ice.
Other drinks are also really good at this place. I tried their honey tea which was very good as well. However, all the teas could get really sweet after half of the cup.
My friends also like their topioca. The price is reasonable at this place for a small size drink.
They also have the deal that you buy a drink and add $ 1 to get their cream puff. The cream puff was not bad at all. It tasted better than it looked. However, they could sell out pretty quickly.
I recommend to try their different drinks if you like bubble teas.

When i find something good, I always go back to the same spot and order the same shit. However, I had never seen green bean smoothie (thats the only way i can translate it in english) anywhere else besides Juice Bar in Boston Chinatown, so when my boyfriend spotted it on the menu here, I had to give it a try.
And.
I LOVED IT! I love this place. Albeit, the prices are a bit $$$ than other boba spots, and Juice Bar for the same drink, It comes in a very big Medium (no smalls here). The service was quick. Friendly attendants. Really really great stuff. Boba was good quality too (not like quicklys, but hey, for quicklys its cheap!)
ETC — clean area, its located behind paris baguette so you can head over for a pastry delight to accompany your drink if you so choose! Lotsa tables in the little food area that also has alot of other restaurant booths that you can order real food from too. The servers all wear trucker hats, rly cute, but then I realized that its kind of a trend out here in Flushing, for the workers to wear truckers.
Highly recommended! Try their Green Bean smoothie drink!!!

The bubble tea here is the closest thing I can get to something tasting like what I usually get in Taiwan. While the bubble tea here can be a little sweet, it can easily be remedied by telling the girl at the counter to make it less sweet. (Have them make it 50% less sweet, or in Chinese, «ban tang» because regular is too sweet.)
For the bad… every time I come here I always get served by girls who have a very bitchy attitude. Smiles are not free here. I really don’t get why either, when I speak Mandarin I come off pretty nice and sincere too. Nevertheless, their tea is good and it’s the only reason why I come back, ‘cuz it sure ain’t for the service.

I am a HUGE fan. Their tea tastes more… herbal (?) than other bubble tea places. I just get a ton more flavor that adds to my YAY factor! Have stopped in and grabbed bubble tea here every time I’ve been in Flushing.
The boba is perfectly soft and chewy, and the counter teens have been pretty nice to me.
My favorite is the Kung Fu milk tea!

I noticed something weird… last SEVERAL places I went to for bubble tea including this Kung Fu Tea location and the one on Centre/​Canal Street, a another Bubble Tea place on Main Street, etc… Everytime I ask them what is in a particular tea… they just look at me and shrug their shoulders. Or if they try to say something to me… it’s incomprehensible. These workers are young and should be able to speak English at the least but they don’t. Getting them to explain anything is impossible. I guess the boss tells them… SHUT UP, COLOR YOUR HAIR, WHERE A LOT OF MAKEUP, LOOK LIKE AN ANIME, AND SPEAK WITH A HIGH PITCH VOICE ONLY IN A LANGUAGE NO ONE UNDERSTANDS!!! That is the Bubble Tea work policy in every place I went!
The tea here is super duper over rated! AND KUNG FU TEA STILL DOES NOT KNOW WHAT LACTAID MILK IS! Bubbly Tea on Bayard uses Lactaid milk if you ask for it!!! MEANWHILE OVER 90% of Chinese people are Lactose Intolerant! WHen I ask these girls behind the counter. they just look at me with a blank stare… uuuuuuuh…duuuuh. huh?

My love affair with bubble tea goes way back to my days of drinking crappy powered bubble tea in Chicago. I thought this was legit. It’s like when you drink Boone’s Farm or Natural Ice in high school and think that it’s «decent» wine or beer. You obviously move on, drink better stuff and become ruined forever on less-​than-​the-​best.
Milk teas with boba are my new passion. No more blended smoothies, it interferes with my bubble tea experience. Great for easing into things though.
And Kung Fu is pretty damn legit in terms of bubble tea. My Taro Milk tea was perfectly sweet, smooth and had an adequate (even above average) amount of perfectly rounded/​fresh boba. Mmmmmmmm. Seal that up, pop the straw and I had a very happy commute back to the mainland.
Roughly $ 4. Take credit cards. Keep your ticket, trade for your bubble tea at counter when its ready.
Located in the food court/​basement of New World Mall. Do it, to it. You’ll never want to go back to the young stuff. If you’re in Flushing, stop by for a treat.

The only Kung Fu Tea location I’ve been to has been the one in the East Village so I was looking forward to going to this one as «dessert» after eating dinner at nearby Nan Xiang Dumpling House.
I was instantly surprised at how much bigger the menu at this location was! I decided to not go with something fruity and tried the Ice Chocolate Coco ($ 3) and added tapioca to it ($ 0.50). I liked it!
This location became memorable when the girl behind the counter got excited when her friend (a rathe tall dashing Asian dude) came in and she immediately started to sing «Baby» by Justin Bieber to him. It amused my friend and I while we waited for our bubble tea!

The drinks here are really great, totally worth the wait on the line! And I got about 3 teas from them already, I wish they delivered haha.

I have to say, this place is becoming one of my favorites, actually is my favorite bubble tea in the flushing area. I tried various places (Quickly, TenRen, Sago, and etc.) and since this open up, easily became my favorite.
The taste of the bubble tea is different and I think they use Jasmine tea which gives a nice aroma along with the different taste and texture of their tapioca. I have to say, I can easily get addicted to this and that usually has not happen since the first time I had Pinkberry.
If you are in flushing, definitely check this place out, you will not be disappointed.

Kung Fu Tea = My Favorite Tea Shop.
After seeing that Sago died out, the gf and I were in search of replacement. Thanks to good old Unilocal,we discovered Kung Fu Tea.
After engorging ourselves to tastilicious meals at White Bear and Fu Run, we walked over to KFT. I ordered a naicha (black milk tea) and she ordered a nailiu (green milk tea) with zhenzhu. The green was good, but the black tea was very good. Another friend joined us, and she guessed that they use Earl Grey tea, which is probably the case.
KFT doesn’t use powders, which differentiates itself from most other teashops. Other Unilocal contributors mentioned that KFT will cater to individual requests of «no ice», «not too much sugar», and uses Lactaid milk for the benefit of those who are lactose intolerant, common amongst Chinese. All of these give bonus points to KFT. Too bad they don’t have a point card program or seating.
I can’t believe there are 5 KFT’s now (2 in Flushing, 1 in Elmhurst, 1 in Brooklyn, and 1 in the East Village). The gf and I only discovered it yesterday. I can’t believe we hadn’t heard of it earlier. It seems like they started up in 2010.
There is a new Sago teashop, on Prince, called New Sago Tea Café. We walked past it, but it didn’t look that great. Guess we won’t be needing to return to Sago because Kung Fu Tea is now our favorite place, and that includes places in Chinatown, Manhattan.

I hate writing mediocre reviews. And I hate disagreeing with my Unilocal friends. But I also hate lying.
After reading several reviews by Unilocalers that I trust, I decided that I needed to give this place a shot.
The thing is, I am just not that picky when it comes to bubble tea. It just has to taste like tea and the bubbles can’t be retarded. They have to be gummy and chewy. And if you get those two things right, then I am sold.
I walk into this place and obviously you have to believe the hype. There is a long line and a few shaking machines going full force. The employees work well together and everything is like a well-​oiled machine.
I order the original. Iced milk tea with tapioca. Simple, and to the point. After waiting a few minutes, I get my drink. And I have to say, the bubbles are amazing. Just the right gumminess and they get 5 stars for the chewy factor. But, it was way too SWEET. This drink was loaded with sugar, and it reminded me of Taiwan for a hot second. And in Taiwan, I had to constantly tell them light on the sugar.
I will come back since they got the bubbles right, but next time, I’ll have to tell them I am a diabtetic.

After trying my usual bubble milk tea of Hot Taro TWICE, I’ve decided Kung Fu Tea is not for me.
I give them an honorable mention. It’s not the worst tasting bubble tea but it’s also not the best. Maybe this chain is for the lactose intolerant but I like my Taro bubble tea to be thick, creamy, and frothy.
This is watery. I think it’s because a majority of their teas are made with Green tea. They only have 3 options of teas made with black tea, and Almond lovers be warned — They don’t have Almond flavor! However the tea flavor is more prominent which I do like. Their bubbles (made from Tapioca, gelatinous black balls) are also sweetened and soft. I like the texture of the balls in my mouf but I don’t like the watery tea. The Hot tea isn’t even served hot, it’s served warm in the same plastic cups. On wintery cold days, I want it served piping hot in a foam cup!
The first time I tried it, I asked myself «Is there Taro flavor in here?!» They barely put any of the flavored powders in them, the taste is very light.
Sorry but I love my Quickly. It’s a tad overly sweet, but it’s thick, creamy, frothy, and full of Taro flavor!
This location is tiny and ordering is so unorganized. Next to this little booth, is a booth that sells iPhone covers and a BBQ skewer stand. It’s odd standing in there while waiting for your order of tea to be prepared.

Gotta get-​get. Gotta get-​get… Gotta get KUNG FU BUBBLE TEA!
My sister took me to Kung Fu tea one night and I loved it!
We both ordered the ***Kung Fu Pearl Milk Green Tea*** for $ 2.50 each.
The bubbles were extremely chewy and surprisingly, I even craved for MORE! I think Kung Fu Tea has converted me to become a tapioca fan =P

Finally get to come here and grabbed a regular Kung Fu Milk Tea with Bubble, It had to be hot because it was on a 30 degree weather.
This place is less than 400 square feet. NO Seatings*, Everyone standing (mostly Asians) Surrounded by the booth. There’s no signs of where to order or where to pick up. Everyone is just Standing! (It’s like someone’s giving freebies and people are Jumping on top of each other and trying to Grab it).
So One of my friends had Finally Asked a gentleman to see if he was standing In Line or just waiting for something.
He says: «No, I order already, waiting for my drink. But you can just walk up to the cashier and order**».
That was the key «WALK UP AND ORDER IN FRONT OF THE CASHIER»
Ordered my drink, Gave her $$$ and she handed me a receipt. The waiting time to get your drink is approximately 10 minutes. (Kung Fu tea with Boba medium size was under $ 3.00, not bad for a bubble tea)
Got my drink. The Tea is ok, I could taste the tea flavor with a tad of sweet in it, I think they should put a tad more milk in it. The Bubbles are soo soft and not super chewy and sweet.
I heard they just Opened one in Elmhurst too!, Maybe the new place will improve more than the 1^st one?
I’m not a big bubble tea milk fan, but I can definitely taste the tea difference and the sweetness of it.

This corner spot in the shopping center is a great place to grab a milk-​tea, but there isn’t much space to hang out.
I was dropped off in Flushing and wandered the area looking for boba (bubble tea). The Unilocal app served up KFT and I made my way there while surfing the masses. I ordered the green wow milk – it was good, but if I wasn’t giving up almost all dairy and legumes on this new diet, I would probably have gone for something more traditional. They make good pearls and they live up to the hype.
Finally, I made my way to the AT&T store across the street to charge my phone.
