Elite Event: Shaved Cream Social At Snowdays

I almost missed writing my review for this amazing event! What a creative way to celebrate the end of 2015 during a warm December month! Thank you so much Jando and the guys and girls at Snowdays and I apologize for the belated review!
In a way, this was one of the better events because we were a smaller group. It was so great to see Cynthia, Natasha, and Felix again! Not to mention meeting and befriending Anna and Win! We also heard about some Snowdays secret flavors from the owner that I can’t wait to try out next time! (hehe)
I think I broke my sweet tooth record here too by finishing a YETI SIZED (think extra large) Got Seoul cup. Oh yeeaaah! I guess I love their green tea and black sesame shaved cream a little too much ;)

Awww the last event for the year for Unilocal Queens and what a fun and refreshing one at that. Thanks Jando for making this event super cool and I’m not talking just about the weather.
Snowdays!!! What an interesting concept and delicious I may add. Shaved cream is the new thing and I was happy to be able to enjoy it on a 60 degree December evening. The flavors Snowdays offered were vast. You could choose your own flavors and toppings, but I opted to go for the selection that was on the menu. I chose the Made in Taiwan regular size. It had green tea matcha shaved cream, grass jelly, mochi, and condensed milk and was delish. Very well made and the flavor combination meshed well together. The staff was super friendly and worked their butt off to satisfy all our sweet tooths. Thank you Dewan for an amazing intro to Snowdays. I love these events because I am able to mingle and meet new Unilocalers. It is always fun. They were also serving wine, barefoot wine, but I did not partake in that. Everyone else seemed to be enjoying it. I decided to get another one and chose the Almond Joy yeti size. Go big or go home. Ha. It was great, but a lil too sweet. The Almond Joy was coconut shaved cream, almonds, m&m’s and salted caramel sauce. Snowdays is definitely the place to fulfill your sweet cravings.

This was the last Unilocal Elite Event 2015 for the Queens Borough and the weather was just perfect to have some Ice cream, it was around 65° in December in NY. What is going on?
The elites had the option to choose from several flavors and add some sweets, but I was a bit disappointed, that they did not had gummy bears. The taste was magnificent and they also had some wine.

Last elite event for 2015 and surprisingly it was 65° outside in December. Warm weather for shaved cream.
I’ve never had shaved cream before, so I was happy to attend this event, to try it out.
Staff was very welcoming and did a great job explaining to a shaved cream newbie, like myself, all the different options available. I decided I wanted to try two flavors of shaved cream (yetti tracks and black sesame), so I was informed I had to get a large. On went a bunch of toppings, from fruit, to mochi, to nilla wafers.
The taste was really good. It has a very interesting consistency. Almost like a very light version of iced cream.
Got some wine and another shaved cream (thai tea) towards the end of the event.
Very cool and modern interior design to the store and very close location to the Main St. subway stop.
Oh and I finally got the elusive Unilocal charger!!!

Unseasonably warm weather blanking the Northeast in December, Snowdays Taiwanese shaved cream offered the perfect place to cool down in this «heat wave».
Considering this was my 1^st time ordering shaved cream. I was very appreciative of all the fellow Unilocal peeps giving me recommendations and combinations to help me build my ultimate shaved cream masterpiece. Albeit, when it was my turn to order my brain was so inundated with different combinations and ratios that for a second I thought I was in a statistics class. I figured I might as well cheat and ask for the answers. I simply asked «What is your best seller»? The answer came back as «Made in Taiwan.»
I never knew shave cream would taste so much like ice cream! The green tea matcha, tapioca like pearls and grass jelly were a delicious combination that really made my taste buds sing. What a sweet and delicious cup of creamy deliciousness! Now we were served a regular and Yeti (large) sized cup of shaved cream, there were no warehouse sample size portions handed out here. I shrieked and marveled at every new shaved cream creation that emerged from behind the counter, different colors and toppings that were really a piece of art that tasted so freaking AWESOME!
The snowdays staff kept the shaved cream flowing working tirelessly and super fast and ridiculously superfast to keep up with the demand, thank you guys and gals for feeding us. Snowdays also provided bottles of Barefoot wines for us to enjoy, score!
I heard people were able to get their hands on the «Elusive» Unilocal Elite battery chargers, I had to leave early and was not able to procure one, but I will one day mark my words. I met many old and new Elite Unilocalers tonight, you guys rock and are so genuine and kind. Thank you Dewan for your generosity and hospitality for hosting this event and to your wonderful staff for making it look so easy. Big Thank you to Jando and your team for making it a memorable and delicious shaved cream December night!

Another rave-​tastic Unilocal elite event organized by Jando and team! I was happy to see I wasn’t the only one gettin’ my shaved ice cream on for the first time eva! What a concept, who knew?! Amiright?! And boy was I all set and came to terms very quickly with the fact that I was going to have loads of shaved cream for dinner… yessss! Had me at shaved… er, I mean ice… no really at cream!
On to the good stuff… I started with a regular size «Made in Taiwan» (green tea matcha cream, grass jelly, mochi, and condensed milk) after being told it’s one of their more popular concoctions. Having grown up on green tea and still an avid drinker to this day, I was curious to see what the green tea matcha cream would taste like. Needless to say, I was not disappointed. It wasn’t overly sweet or overpowering with its green tea-​essence nor bitter and twingy… just the right balance! As other fellow Unilocalers were eagerly making their suggestions, I decided to create my own healthy medley of shaved cream. A large coconut flavor cream with walnuts, granola, blueberries and strawberries all nestled under a heavenly drizzle of honey. It was soooo yummilicious I started going into shock and then proceeded into a warm and inviting cream coma!
Did I feel weird mixing ice cream and Barefoot Pinot Grigio? Mayyybeee
Did I care about mixing shaved cream and alcohol made from fruit essentially? No! Never! *evil laughter ensues*
Thanks to the Unilocal crew and peeps for holding it down and giving us something unique and noteworthy to rave about once again! To one of the gracious owners of this joint, Dewan Tarek, and the indulgent, swift staff that took care of us: keep doing your thang, locked and loaded with shaved ice!

Sweet tooth for days. As much as I love shaved ice and I absolutely do, I definitely did NOT sleep that night.
That early evening sugar rush…
It was a win-​win really. I satisfied my inner child and I got a lot of work done instead of sleeping.
The shaved ice here is quality. Having been to their East Village location which seems to be busy every time I walk by or enter, the Flushing branch hasn’t gotten popular yet. This is a good thing because every time I come to Flushtown, I don’t have to elbow and moan my way to order #theAsian (reference my photo). Now, #theAsian isn’t on their official menu. In fact, it’s on NONE of their menus. It’s just something I thought about combining using all Asian ingredients from the menu offered. You are more than welcome to order it for yourself.
Well…as Asian as you can get at least. The taste was pretty unique.
With that being said, all of the flavors that are found at the East Village branch can be found here at the Flushing branch. And there are even secret flavors that you can order which enhances the experience. For example, Thai ice tea shaved ice?

What’s better than sweets on a Monday night?
Sweets AND wine on a Monday night. Barefoot Wines came in with 5 of their most popular wines. Of them all, Pink Moscato was the one that I felt was the tastiest.

Yay! Another awesome Unilocal Elite Event! I’ve been a little MIA with recent events but so glad I was able to make it out to this one. It was great seeing old faces and meeting new ones alike. Unilocalers are always just so welcoming. :)
I got to try a few of the flavors and was very impressed by all of them, especially the Thai iced tea. I love the whole concept of a «secret menu» — it really keeps things exciting and only makes me want to follow Snowdays on social media to find out the next one! Great marketing strategy. We had the pleasure to meet one of the co-​owners, who by the way is a real sweetheart and so genuinely nice and hilarious. All the staff in general were very friendly and helpful in assisting my indecisive self in making the perfect customization. *Applause* I will be back FO SHO!

Been in love with Snowdays ever since my first visit at the East Village location, so you know there was very little hesitation to rsvp for this event at the Flushing location.
Thank you to the owners (Dewan?) of Snowdays for being so hospitable, and oh so generous! Closing down the store for 2 hours to host an event on a 60 degree day just for us, that’s generosity and letting you pick whatever size shaved cream you want– that’s the real deal!
The Shaved Cream was awesome as usual, I went with my go-​to Made-​in-​Taiwan and it did not disappoint. There’s just something magical about these pillow soft, chewy, slightly sweet mochi that is paired that with these cool, yet slightly bitter grass jelly. Your first bite, as you are still wondering how are these mochi so soft, you suddenly get hit with this heavily flavored green tea shaved cream that flirts with your palate, when you first encountered the shaved cream, it actually feels like it had layers and a hard texture but suddenly out of no where it disappears and melts in your mouth. and you’re like Woa– what just happened? and before you realize that you got a taste of condensed milk which reminded and prompted you for another bite! OOOh It was the perfect balance, sweet but not so sweet that you need to down a gallon of water afterward. Amazingg!

It’s 60 degrees in December in New York City today! Just the perfect weather for Snowdays! Can you believe that today was the first time I walked into Snowdays?! Shame on me!
Another awesome Unilocal Elite Event, thanks to Jando S., Unilocal Queens, and Snowdays! I got to try three flavors tonight: Made in Taiwan (Green Tea Shaved Cream with grass jelly, mochi, and drizzled with condensed milk), New York Cheesecake, and the secret flavor, Thai Iced Tea! Thai iced Tea was, of course, my favorite of the night! I loved that I took Andrew’s suggestion to drizzle it with ‘mad’ condensed milk, lots of mochi, and strawberries. It was certainly the best! Barefoot wine’s Pink Moscato was complemented the dessert very well! Snowdays was extremely generous with the portions, too! It was amazing! Thank you very much!
Shout out to Unilocal Elites! You guys are the best as always!

When I first heard about this event I was like why the hell is Unilocal having a frozen dessert event in the middle of December, but it turns out Jando is Nostradamus and knew we were going to have super warm weather!
I was a complete novice when it came to shaved cream and it was cool to see how this was made — a cylinder of whichever flavor you ordered is spun to create rich, decadent, layers with a texture that reminded me of a Cadbury Flake bar (a British import). I tried the Made in Taiwan, which was green tea matcha, grass jelly, mochi and condensed milk drizzle (gotta have the drizzle). It was awesome and all the other combinations I saw the crew pumping out were awesome as well.
The area of Flushing is perfect with so much concentrated goodness of so many excellent eating establishments — Snowdays fits right in with their uniquely created desserts. They have a secret flavor menu that changes often so there is plenty of variety to their standard delicious flavors.
Thank you Jando, Sierra and Alexis for putting this together and serving up some Barefoot wines. It was a great event, fantastic time and incredible dessert. How incredible? Let me put it this way — someone totaled my car this morning and I still made it out to this event and I am completely happy I did!

Mr. Jando has done it again and popping our cherries especially the Snowdays newbies! Its really a nice location near some of my favorites 66 Lu’s Seafood and Nan Xiang Dumpling House. The décor is quite adorable with the cute Yeti character posted everywhere. Since I am allergic to peanuts and coconut which makes me always pretty limited on flavors so I went with The New Yorka. Its pretty awesome watching one of the staff shaved ice and the other one adding your toppings. A bit hectic with so many Unilocalers putting in their orders but an applause for the amazing staff. Dewan, one of the owners always have a nice and big smile on his face and I can tell that he was happy to host this amazing Unilocal Elite Event tonight!
Okay…I steered off regarding my cup of goodness. This is definitely legit shaved ice not the ones that I ate at Flushing Mall. Each spoonful of The New Yorka left a smile on my face =) If you are ever in a bad mood, this is a spot to cheer you up so take advantage of the amazing menu and the «secret flavors»! I also tried a small sample of Roasted Black Sesame with Strawberry Pocky sticks and mochi with salted caramel drizzle mmmmmmmmmm that was very yummy as well!
