The mall is closed now so this deli manjoo does not exist but another has opened on Roosevelt.

Lucky fish aka Taiyaki. Really loved it. Tastes way better than the taiyaki i get at Japanese places. They also have a croissant Lucky fish which is quite good as well, but its too sweet for me to eat on a regular basis.

Man… These little treats were so good. Reminds me of the little egg puffs from Chinatown with an added twist. I think I’m addicted.

YASSS! The mini cream filling cakes are so good! The cakes weren’t freshly made in front of us but it was still delicious.

Delicious little cream cakes. Very innovative, rich in flavor, and cute. These minuscule little cakes are made fresh to order, using a machine to wrap and the expertise of the woman behind the counter. Very reasonable prices as well. The corn cakes are fresh and tasty. A hidden gem for sure, a perfect place for a treat.

These little hot corn cakes are delicious. They are actually very similar in taste, smell and flavor to the«Chinese pancakes» sold by street vendors in the Manhattan Chinatown — the ones that are like 20 for $ 1.00. They are also made the same — by flash baking the dough in metal trays. However, these ones are filled with a sweet custard and they are 12 for $ 3.25.

While walking around Flushing Mall, my boyfriend discovered Deli Manjoo and that they were selling cream cakes, so he bought 12 for $ 3.25. The cakes weren’t freshly made in front of us. The woman at the counter just gave us what was made previously. The cakes tasted great, the pastry cream inside was lightly sweetened and delicious. It’s one of the best mini cakes I’ve had so far! It reminded me a lot of Quickly’s cakes, but of course these were more top-notch! Deli Manjoo is truly a hidden gem and so are the cakes!

I first fell in love with Deli Manjoo when I was in Korea last summer, so I was so happy when I found out there was a place selling them in Flushing! It was only my 3rd or 4th time at the Flushing Mall and I got a bit lost looking for this place, but as soon I walked down the stairs to the food court and smelled the wonderful Deli Manjoo smell wafting up towards me, I knew I’d found the right place. I bought a bag of 12 — a great bargain at only $ 3.25 — and they were all freshly made and hot. These little combinations of cake and custard are one of the most addicting snacks ever. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of not eating them all immediately, since I was saving them to share with a friend later on. They were so hot that steam condensed in the bag and made them slightly soggy… it was tragic, but they were yummy nonetheless. Definitely worth a trip if you happen to be in Flushing and have room for a snack!

I love this place. While I find it odd that it only serves one item, at least that one item is absolutely delicious. For about ten minutes, my friends and I watched these little cakes being made – the batter filling the little molds, the addition of custard cream, and the cover to the cream. Finally, we could not control our hunger, and purchased some – 12 for $ 3.25 – for a ridiculously cheap price. The cakes were hot when we received them, straight out of the molds. And I remember everyone reaching over to grab one, and then another, until it was all gone… along with my so called popularity, which lasted the mere five minutes that the treats were in my hand…

Finally tried these yesterday, and they were totally delish! I’m now in love with these tasty little treats in the shape of corn, how cute! I especially like how they are not too sweet, even though they are filled with custard, since I’m not a big fan of sweet things. The only bad part — I was given ones that were previously made and individually wrapped, instead of fresh warm ones that are right off the batch. My friend kept on laughing at me saying that I got g’ed, but they were good nonetheless. Hopefully next time I’ll get to have the hot ones, I’m sure they will be even better! *I bought 12 for $ 3.25, that’s amazingly cheap for such deliciousness.

This is my favorite custard filled cake stand. All the other don’t have the same filling as this place and they do it the best. TIP: Don’t get the ones in a box of 20 — they are individually wrapped but have lost their warmth so won’t taste as good as the smaller packs, which they give you right off the assembly line. Becareful that you don’t burn yourself biting into the little cakes while they’re hot though!

Oh these cream cakes reminded me of childhood in Taiwan! My mom would buy them from traditional markets for a bag of 10 for merely $ 1US. Here of course it costs about 5 times as much but hey if it brings back good memory and great taste, why not! I just wish they were cheaper!

These tasty little treats are a great hostess gift. After having lovely dim sum at Ocean Jewels, my husband and I went across the street to the Flushing Mall to start our Saturday adventure in Flushing. We had dinner plans with friends at their apartment, so in the back of my mind, I was keeping an eye out for something neat to bring to dinner. Every good Chinese girl knows that you must always bring something to the hostess. As soon as we walked into the mall, we smelled the most amazing smell of fresh cakes being baked. After watching the process, we decided this would be the perfect thing to bring to dinner. We went and had some Taiwan shaved ice first, and then came back to the stand and picked up a couple of boxes for $ 11 — comes with a free drink of your choice. Good thing we got two boxes because before dinner hit the table, the four of us at dinner had nearly finished one box. The hostess was really enamored with the individually wrapped cakes. Hot or frozen, they are delicious. We are definitely going back for more soon! I wanted to try the strawberry ones, but they were sold out that afternoon.

The little cakes this place sells are absolutely delicious! But they’re only good when they’re hot, and sometimes they give you the ones that were made a while ago and wrapped, and they’re not hot anymore. It’s a great little snack though when you’re hungry.

sometimes i wonder if i am the only one who loves these treats so much. but i know there would be so many others if only people knew of their existence. when you get them warm, the little corn shaped treat has a crispy crust with a soft cakey inside. There is a little bit of custard surprise in the middle too. But be careful! When you get them fresh and hot(as i suggest you do) this custard is the part that gets you. You want to bite right in but be warned, this little dollop holds its heat. at $ 3.25 for a bag of 12, these treats are a deal indeed.

It’s a small breaded treat in the shape of a ear of corn with a small dollop of custard inside. Even in Korea this treat is perhaps considered more unique than ubiquitous. Only a handful of places I knew in Korea sold it… so seeing it here in NY was awesome!!! Furthermore it was the first time I’ve seen it INDIVIDUALLYWRAPPED.

These little delicious cakes might just be Korea’s most popular snack and it can be had here at the Flushing Mall, where Asian treats and delights could not be found in better variety than it’s infamous food court. Last time I checked, it was about $ 2 for a pack of 8 and $ 5 for 32. The cakes themselves taste great, with a toasted grainy texture, twinkie like flavor, and a creamy filling. It’s best had when fresh from the cake machine, but watch out, it’s hot as hell. I’d also like to add I prefer this cart over the other Deli Manjoo in Manhattan Chinatown. Neither the taste nor the price are all that different, but this one wins for being indoor and producing quality cakes each time.
