I came here with my family the other night. When we walked in there was only a group of workers or the owners family eating dinner in the middle table and no one else. The look they gave us was that they were surprised to have any customers that night. I almost wanted to turn back around but decided to brave it as it is hard to find a place like this in Flushing. It is literally also next to Skyview Mall so parking is convenient. Granted it was a weekday night but we came in at 7:30pm and during the 2 hours of our meal not a single other customer came. I am not sure if they mostly do lunch business or what… On their website they have a gallery of about 20 dishes. The gallery is just pictures, no names of dishes underneath them. I would recommend that they fix that so it would be easier for customers to know what is in the pictures. So I proceeded to ask what the pictures were and at least half of the dishes that they put up in their own gallery were«out of stock.» Huge red sign. Lest, I had gone too far and had already sat my whole family down and was in for the ride. The biggest kicker was when I asked for the combo #1 their basket of shrimp and crawfish and the waiter said they didn’t have any shrimp!!! I was appalled! All of their combos had shrimp in it and it is their main featured item. I had to settle for all crawfish. Next, we had ordered the curry chicken and when it came out the waiter said he was deducting several dollars off the item because there wasn’t enough chicken. They gave us all plastic silverware and plates and gloves to eat the crawfish. I did not receive a bib. The gloves were large so it was hard to get at the crawfish. On the whole, everything was just a bit too salty and we were downing our waters. Through out this whole review I flip flopped back and forth between 2 stars and 3 stars and I ended on 3 stars to give them the benefit of the doubt, maybe they just had a bad day. The service was good but then yet again we were the only customers there for 2 hours. The prices were not too bad and they take credit cards.

Craving seafood so my mom and I decided to give it a try since we were also at the Skyview mall down the block. We ordered the combo B with snow crab legs and craw fish. Since I can’t eat spicy, we had it with the lemon pepper and garlic butter mix. Honestly the sauce did not taste good. It’s kind of weird. Tho the snow crab legs were ok, my mom did not like the craw fish. We also ordered the Water Spinach Malaysian style. It was not spicy at all. Even I could eat it. I am not complaining about that but my mom was. What I liked was that you can order a small size so it’s not too much. A facebook check in gets you a free soda, so I did it. there isn’t a lot of places like this in Flushing so it’s good to have choices, but it really wasn’t great.

This place has good service and great food. They have a fusion of Burmese, Thai, and chinese. The burmese fried noodles, we added beef to it since it usually comes with just vegetables. The flavor was just right. We also tried their seafood combo with lobster, crab and crawfish. The seafood was very fresh and the sauce(Cajun and garlic butter) was tasty. I also really liked their Avocado milkshake.

Love their dishes, the authenticity to Southeast Asian food reminds me of home. The Yunnan rice noodles is a must try! Also, I love their three dishes lunch combo which only costs 6.50. The curry chicken is to die for. Definitely recommend for the foodie who wishes to experience the real southeast Asian side of cuisine on this side of the world.

The first time I went there, I enjoyed my meal. I ordered the shrimp and crawfish combo. They also gave free soda when u check in on Facebook. The service was great and the seafoods were fresh. I also liked their Cajun sauce a lot, so I took their menu and decided to go back again. Here comes to the bad experience! I went back there to order take out today, here is my new review for them: Overpriced! Don’t trust their menu, their menus are outdated. the price of the shrimp(1lb) on the menu is 11.99.but the current price is 16.28with tax. The shrimps were not fresh! They tasted like they have been in fridge for a long time, and over boiled. Totally disappointed! Not sure if I’m gonna go back there again.

First time trying this place; was kind of excited … And checking in on Facebook gets you a free can of soda. The garlic butter comes out really oily… Kind of gross for me; lemon pepper was decent and actually made crab legs pretty yummy:) The service was lacking even tho they are friendly; only refilled water once throughout the whole meal of about 3hours… Unless you wave them down they will just chat away and play on the cell and ignore your existence The shrimp Pad Thai my boyfriend ordered had all but four shrimps for $ 8.99 plus tax and tip… I’d get more from a fast food joint at a dollar=I get a shrimp in the order; so it should of had 8 – 9 shrimps damnit! But it did taste good, he liked it. They do take credit cards and you can play lotto while eating… So 3stars I don’t recommend the crawfish at all… You can taste the stale even with all that seasoning they drown it in; but the mussels the next table had looks and was said to be reorder-able so recommend that for sure :) and perhaps the soft shell crabs :) BYOB friendly and liquor store next door ;)

Had the spicy and crispy prawns. Best food I’ve had in a while! The Thai iced tea tasted amazing also :) I also would like to mention that service was excellent! They even agreed to cut the head off the shrimp to accommodate my tastes! Fresh and tasty seafood with some spice and everything nice!

I would say I am a regular customer here. While i do love the food i am just biased of most seafood restaurants. Sometimes the crab is very meaty and other times they barely have any meat in them and there’s just one or two hidden meaty crabs in the bucket. So it is a very hit and miss experience. I tried the combo of lobster yesterday, I will stick to getting the snowcrab combo. I didn’t think the 35 $ and up combos were very worth it, they didn’t even serve a whole lobster…(or maybe my sister ate it all when i wasn’t looking); i just wasn’t impressed enough with the combo to spend 2x the cost of the snowcrab. I think its helpful to add that for the combos you can ask to switch out something for another option. what keeps me coming back is the service, waiters are all very nice. and the sauce is a+, my parents took home a whole bucket of their sauce yesterday. LOL.

We passed by this place a lot of times & for over a year, we kept saying to each other about trying it out but somehow we never did until one evening when we were walking & hungry, we decided, let’s just try it now! We were here around 7 on a Wednesday evening for dinner. The place wasn’t busy. We were seated immediately. Our waitress gave us the menu & hot tea as soon as we were seated. We ordered the king crab legs, crab, both with a mixed of cajun, lemon pepper, & garlic butter sauce. If you like spicy food, we suggest you choose the very spicy on the spiciness level because medium, which was what we tried wasn’t spicy at all, not even a bit. We had to ask for more hot sauce. We also got the Youngchow fried rice & the Thai fried rice with pineapple. The portion, well, it wasn’t big but we didn’t expect it to be big for stuff like crab legs & crab. Another side order like a fried rice is definitely necessary for someone with a big appetite. The food was definitely good. We love the crab legs & the crabs. The sauce, even though we were somewhat disappointed for not being spicy enough, is still packed full of flavor! The fried rice, however, isn’t great. It wasn’t bad, it’s good, but just not great. The Thai fried rice is too«sticky» & the Yangchow fried rice lacked of flavor. The portion of the fried rice for $ 7.99 each were pretty good. One order of the fried rice is most likely enough to share for a side dish. The place looks pretty clean especially the bathroom. The service were decent, nothing worth mentioning. We definitely can’t complain about the service. All total, our bill came out to about $ 55. It’s a bit pricey but it’s not that bad. We were pretty satisfied with our meal. We both love seafood so we’ll definitely go back. Definitely worth stopping by!

Wifey and I tried it last night for dinner, came by and we’re the only customer there, a little early for dinner I guess. we ordered 3 combo, ½ lbs Lobster, ½ lbs crabs, ½ craw fish with the all of the above sauce(garlic, butter, … i forgot the other one). Food Taste: This probably the best I’ve eaten, specially the sauce. Crab and Lobster are easy to crack and peel even without the cracker. It seemed those food were alive few minutes before, because usually dead crab and lobster meat in some other restaurant are thin due to stress before they’re killed. This one are chunky and so meaty. Awesome! Price: not too bad, We ordered 3 combo + Stella Artois + Some juice = $ 61 Service: the waiter was very helpful and polite I’ll be back during this week for more, might get Soft Shell Crab this time.

(3.5 stars) As others have mentioned, I was skeptical based on looks, but thankfully everything was clean as a whistle, even if not aesthetically pleasing. Came here with a friend and her friend who live nearby and order take-out from them often. We had the combo platter B and a kong xin cai(watercress) veggie dish with rice. I’m easy to please since kong xin cai is my favorite veggie, but this dish was fanatastique because it had flavorful chunks for curry-like spiced meat tossed in. And not just a little either, so vegetarians beware. For the omnivores amongst us, good ish man. The combo of seafood was rightfully super messy. The gloves, bib, and napkins were hardly enough to keep the splatter at bay. I was a little underwhelmed by shrimp and mussels(our swap out for the crawfish). But the snow crab meat was worth waiting for once you did the work to unearth if from its shell. Potatoes and corn was delicious too. We got the combination sauces: lemon, garlic, butter, and some kind of cajun thing. Next time I think I might just pick one sauce because the seafood towards the end was drowning in the juices in an unappealing way. I’m told the thai ice tea here was quite good too. But the combo, veggies dish, and rice plus the bowl of peanuts when you sit down were enough to stuff me 2x over, especially since I walked in not starving or hangry. I would definitely venture here again to try some of their non-seafood dishes to get a truer taste of their SE Asian flavorings.

All that rave about the seafood… ahem. I was kinda sad that it was not as great as I have expected. The food is good. It’s actually OK. The Cajun Shrimp, tasty and big. The Butter Garlic soft shell crab was very salty on the outside, kind of cold and bland on the inside. I guess they steamed it and just toss it around when there is an order. Their Pineapple Fried Rice was yummy though and we loved their service. Tip 20% even though the food is not as great as expected.

Have you ever had nights where you made something out of anything in your fridge? And while each dish was not bad, your taste buds were confused as to all the flavors it was tasting? That is how I felt after coming here. Come prepared understanding that Burma’s bordering countries are China, Laos, Thailand, Bangladesh and India. So, while listening to traditional Taiwanese folk music, we shared amongst three people with plenty leftover(and also where the confusion starts): FOOD: Something like Roti Canai, Calamari(Note: they use corn flour to coat squid), Chicken Wings, Seafood(Combo C– lobster, crabs(exchanged for shrimp), and crawfish + corn, sausage, potato with mixed seasoning), Burmese Tea Salad, Thai Iced Tea, Coors Light I also noticed the following on their menu: Mango Juice, Indian Yogurt Drink(I’m assuming it’s Lassi), Kung Pao Chicken, Pad Thai(Chicken/Shrimp), and Yunnan Noodle Soups. Our bill came out to a little over $ 100 with tip. A bit excessive for a meal in Flushing but not unreasonable considering the seafood portions. Yes, I will be back because I literally cannot find a menu like this elsewhere. And if you’re feeling lucky, you can also buy lotto here.

Next to skyview mall, this place is very easy to miss because it doesn’t really stand out. The wine/spirit shop next door stands out more than this place. Location wise, it’s nice because you can park in skyview mall’s parking center(3 hours free) and can walk over. This place is using your hands where they give you a bib and gloves and go crazy. DONOT dress up because you might get sauce or other spillage from the food onto your clothes even with a bib. Food: We ordered the Combo B, Combo C, and Fried Yunnan Yellow Tofu. I was disappointed because they didn’t have the soft shell crab. Combo B contained snow crab legs, craw fish(replaced it with 1 pound of shrimp). Combo C contained blue crab, craw fish, and lobster. All the combos come with sides of corn, sausage, and potatoes. It was an okay meal. We ordered two different style flavors Lemon Pepper and Cajun and both pretty much tasted the same. I was very disappointed with the blue crab and craw fish because it didn’t taste fresh. The craw fish had a weird taste about it kind of sour-ish. The blue crab’s shell was so soft that you can crush it with your two fingers. I don’t think that’s possible unless it’s been sitting their for a while or they overcooked it like crazy. The Fried Yunnan Yellow Tofu was their saving grace. It came with fish sauce and I liked it more than the sauce that our bag of seafood came with. The utensils they gave us was pretty useless. They were very difficult to use because it was so stiff. It was difficult to use it to crack the shells of the seafood. They really need to get better tools to crack shells because the ones I used was more challenging than necessary. Décor: The place overall looks clean. It can seat several large groups of people. They have a map of Mexico up on the wall with a picture of Corona. They also have another picture or decoration hung up that I can’t quite tell what it is. If I had to guess, might be Burmese(Since that’s what one of the restaurants style of cuisine says). Service: The service was pretty good. They always refilled our tea when we were half way or running low. They were attentive and the waiter made good recommendations. The food came out pretty fast, which is good cause we’re all starving. Final thoughts: I would go back to try their non-seafood dishes. I would say give it a try but I wouldn’t dine here for their bagged seafood in the future. If I wanted seafood, I would go to Claw Daddy’s or Joe’s Crab Shack. The sauce was indifferent even though we ordered different types and the freshness factor plays a huge role when it comes to seafood. In addition, for the price that we paid for the combos, I kind of expected it to be better and more filling. I left the place not full/satisfied.

I’ve been here twice, and my biggest concern is… why haven’t I been here more often?! Both times we’ve gone, the food was great. We tried their Soft Shell Crabs and their Calamari on our first trip(hey, it’s a seafood place, right?), but on our second trip we decided to try some different items. The Curry Chicken over Rice at $ 5.99 is a great deal. We had leftovers enough for one more serving, but I’m a little sad to know that I probably won’t make it back from work in time today to be the one to eat it. :/ Also had the Yunnan Sauteed Rice Noodles w. Pork and, as good as the curry was, this was the real winner. The broth was very tasty. I don’t often get soup based meals when I eat out, but I would definitely go back for this. They have flatscreens showing pictures of some of their different offerings; maybe next time I’ll just go in and pick stuff off of that just to try out new things. So far, Crazy Crab hasn’t led me wrong, so why not? And by the way, they offer buckets of Coors Light — six bottles for $ 15, all day, every day. If you’re looking to get your drink on for cheap, you won’t find many better options, price-wise.

The number of these smother-in-yummy-sauces-to-boil-seafood-that-you-then-use-your-hands-to-crack-that-shit-open-to-feed-yourself chain of concept restaurants have not skyrocketed, but have been on a prolific incline. Although this is the only one i know of in queens, i believe there are at least three in the lower east side, two of which sprung up in the last few months alone. Crazy crab is either not crazy enough for me… or is so crazy i clearly have missed the point. The special sauce was a tad gross for me. It has too much curry in it for my personal taste. I understand Burmese food shares a lot of the same spices as Indian food, but the curry flavor was just too overwhelming for me. The seafood is fresh and the service was good. (Really fresh seafood will typically save you from nastyish sauce in my book)I will mention the service doesnt work in Cantonese… only Mandarin. I think English works as well, but i wouldnt know. Its clean and yummy. I also must note that clean in flushing is something you gotta brag about. Even the bathroom was clean. Id say, its really worth a try. Give it a shot and enjoy the fun of ripping into those crusteaceans with your own gloved (of course not bare! Your hands will smell of seafood and curry for a week!)hands.

Crazy Crab is a Burmese-Yunnanese-Malaysian-Thai restaurant in Flushing. I came here specifically to try the Burmese — an underrepresented cuisine in NYC. This place mostly serves Chinese and only has a few Burmese dishes. The meal was so-so for me, but I was happy to try some new and interesting items. I tried the following: –Burmese Ginger Salad: This dish I did not like too much. Instead of lettuce, this salad mostly consists of shredded pieces of ginger. Mixed in are nuts, sesame seeds, garlic and lime. I am not a fan of ginger, so i should not have gotten this. –Burmese Tea Leaf Salad: This one is very famous in Burma and tasted much better than the ginger salad. It is similar in ingredients, but with fermented tea leaves instead of ginger. This one had an interesting and unique taste to it — zesty and bitter. I would recommend trying this one. –Burmese Fried Cucumber — Thin, soft pieces of cucumber deep fried. This one was delicious, but be warned. It is extremely fatty and the fried pieces were soaked in oil.

Crazy about the Crazy Crab! Never mind the eclectic non-décor. Never mind the Keno board on the TV monitor. Never mind that you’re eating off a plastic plate with plastic utensils. Never mind that your food is cooked/served in a plastic bag. What I am thankful for is not having to wait for a table. We pulled up some seats and started ordering our favorite types of seafood from the«hand eating» section of the menu. Snow crab, mussels, shrimp with sides of sausage and corn, with garlic butter and lemon pepper sauce. Soft shell crab? Yeah, throw that in too. You get 6 deep-fried crabs for $ 15, a way better deal you won’t find anywhere. Just concentrate on the tasty seafood being served up. Crack those crab legs, suck those shrimp heads and lick that savory sauce off your fingers. They know you’re going to be messy, which is why the table has a piece of paper taped to it. As you don your personal protective gear/hazmat suit, you know you’re going to be in for it. OK, it was only a plastic bib, but they give you food service gloves like the ones used by servers at the school cafeteria. Pffft, what do I need these for? You’ll be thankful for them later to lick the sauce off your fingers and they remain velvety soft when you peel them off like Gypsy Rose Lee(but smelling like garlic with bits of crab in your hair). I have yet to try the Boil, but have been to the Boiling Crab on the west coast, so this is not a new experience. What is novel is that I’ve never seen a restaurant that sold Lotto tickets, but they do here. So sink a couple of dollars on MegaMillions after dinner. Hey, you never know.

I am not sure what used to be in place of this restaurant, but it either must’ve been a deli or an old school pizzeria. The menu board with the clipped on lettering is still in place and the counter sells lottery tickets while the TV screens they have on replay the lottery numbers. I don’t mind funny décor, but I found it pretty hilarious that the restroom compared to the storefront itself is extremely clean and modernized. No bearing on anything. Just something I found to be a funny. As for the food I won’t say it was terrible, but my expectations were merely… Higher. Snow crabs and clams. King crabs and shrimp. The sauce doesn’t reach the meat and the sauce tasted oddly similar to a mild, chunky BBQ sauce in some kind of oil which was presumed to be garlic butter except it didn’t taste of anything garlicky or buttery, and none of us left very satisfied. My friend also ordered a rice and meat dish, which came with what looked to be a pound of rice and well, Chinese take-out style steak and peppers. I didn’t try any so I couldn’t say but he did finish it all and stated it was okay. The third star is for the service. Our server was very nice about moving us to a bigger table to accommodate what was supposed to be a party of 2 to a party of 5 and was very nice about having to explain the Burmese dishes we were considering but didn’t know anything about. In all, I don’t see myself going back to this place. It was good to have tried, but the flavors just didn’t work for me.
