Both of my children see Dr. Josephine Jung at the center. My now 5 ½ yo daughter started to see Dr. Jung when she was 9 months old. We moved to Queens from Suffolk and didn’t know which ped was good, got very disappointed at a medical center in Bay Terrace, and was very much in need for a trustworthy pediatrician at the time. I asked a friend who referred me to Dr. Jung at the time, and she was my savior! My DD would wake up every hour crying, and as new parents, we tried everything and couldn’t figure out what’s wrong, with both of us working, it was a nightmare for us. She was breastfed when I am home, bottlefed with breastmilk when I was at work. The first thing Dr. Jung asked was how does she sleep at night, how much does she eat. DD wouldn’t eat pureed food so she was still ONLY having breastmilk but was still feeding every 3 hours, but never was able to go over 3oz even at 9 months. Dr. Jung told me I have to immediately start to adjust to feeding her solids, since she doesn’t like pureed, she can start with congee with minced meat and vegetables because she is old enough. We have to educate her to learn how to eat solids, and not let her have a choice. Without milk to drink, my DD was hungry and she was willing to try the congee when we offered her, and she started her three solids meals and only drink milk in the morning and at night, JUST IN TWO DAYS she stopped waking up at night! She was tired and cannot sleep well because she was hungry!!! We felt so bad that she was starved all this time! Dr. Jung also help guide us through weaning off bottle when she was ready, she was off bottle again in 2 days! When she turned 3, I was worried that she was still not potty trained, Dr. Jung told me noone goes to college with diapers, every kid takes their own pace, when they are ready, it only takes them a weekend to be trained, and guess what, my DD did get off diapers (#1 & #2) in one weekend around 3y3m. I respect everything Dr. Jung tells us, she tells us that the babies are not the ones to blame, it’s always the parents, because adults should know better! Every time we called office about a condition, she returned the call and gives advice over the phone and would follow up after a couple of days. Every time we go to the center, she sees and recognizes my kids, even though we don’t visit often, mostly for checkups. One time she was even telling another nurse about my DD’s allergy condition randomly without looking up record. Only doctors who care would remember patients’ names and conditions by heart. I would highly recommend Dr. Jung as a pediatrician choice. My DS is now 8 months, also seeing Dr. Jung, and he is a much happier baby than his sister because we learned so much from his sister and we don’t make the same mistakes again!

My Child had been seeing Dr. Jung and we are constantly impressed with her dedication and involvement in providing good health care for my son.
She is very knowledgeable and able to explain concepts clearly and concisely. She also takes the time to call us (as opposed to having us come for another visit which means lost time and money) when she finds something in our children’s charts or progress. She listens to us and takes action based on our feedback. We are so lucky to have Dr. Jung as my son’s pediatrician.

Haven’t been to this Charles b wang clinic in flushing for many years, now I’m moving back to flushing and was surprise the «f level brain of receptionist» are so rude, I would give them 0 star (too bad there aren’t). Time to change my pcp to another clinic.

I have been using Dr. Josephine Jung as a pediatrician since my son was born. She came to hospital to see and check up my son. She is very nice and Knowledgeable. She is never rushed and always answers all my questions. She explains everything thoroughly and professional. I am so lucky to find Dr. Jung for my son. She has taken great care on my son and I love her.

I am NOT sorry I am giving this place this 1 star rating. if I could I would have given it a NEGATIVE rating. The staff AND DOCTORS and so LOW CLASS! if you are expecting the «Patient confidentiality» crap, FORGET IT if you are going to this place! I had an infection and I went here based on a good word from a family friend during the time I was in school without medical insurance. They put me in a waiting room and told me to wait for the next available doctor. They didn’t even close the door. Then they proceeded to basically TALK LOUDLY about my condition outside and LAUGH about it as if i can’t hear them! wow… seriously? I was so embarrassed as other patients walking pass were looking through the door way into the room just to see who the unfortunate person was.
I even pulled the nurse aside when she came in to take my blood pressure and told her that what they were doing is unprofessional and disrespectful to the patient and violates patient confidentiality. The nurse told me that this is normal and how they act all the time. I was at lost for words…
Really professional there… NEVER will I be going back there. Only medicaid or medicare people as well as those who are only Chinese speakers who can’t afford better doctors go to this dump. Give or take some other poor unfortunate person who didn’t know any better. I will never EVER advise any of my friends to go here or family members. I don’t know where they received their education, but it clearly lacks in so many levels. THE WORST PLACE! If you like your condition or embarrassing condition to be aired out like dirty laundry, then this is the place for you!

If you’re pregnant and looking for a gynecologist, PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND NOT COME TO THIS SCAM HOLE!
My wife has been coming to Charles Wang’s OBGYN in Flushing for the past 9 months. We’re expecting the birth of our first child in two weeks. Our experience in this so-​called health center has been anything but pleasant. The first red flag came when we had our appointment for our ultrasound. Charles Wang does not have the equipment for ultrasound so they sent us over to another clinic called Ocean Perinatology in Queens Crossing. We went there for several appointments, routine sonograms and then the ultrasound. On the day of the ultrasound, they told my wife and I that they no longer accept our insurance and that we must pay cash instead. I was fuming at them for their unprofessional behavior and approach to our ultrasound appointment and never came back.
The second red flag happened this week. We called and signed up for a breast pump through Target’s breast pump program McKesson Patient Care Solutions (MPCS). The person we spoke with at MPCS was more than courteous and friendly over the phone with our request. You simply call, provide your insurance and gynecologist information and they’ll review it. When everything is verified, they’ll email you with a confirmation with a choice of breast pumps to choose from and location of pickup. Simple enough right? So, we’ve already picked up the pump from Target, about a week later, a social worker from Charles Wang Health Center calls my wife, interrogated her how, where, and why did we signed up for this breast pump program. I can’t seem to figure out what was her problem with us calling ahead and obtaining a breast pump before the birth of our baby. Then, today, she calls back and informs my wife that our doctor won’t sign off on a prescription for the breast pump because we didn’t inform her that we were going to do this. The social worker from Charles Wang also made a BS claim that their program/​software does not coincide with Target. When I came home from work, I found my wife in distress with Charles Wang’s social worker and our Doctor. I’ve tried calling the social worker back, a rep said she wasn’t available but was working until 6pm. I called back later and found no answer. I called Target’s MPCS to verify our order and they said everything is a go. I then called our insurance company after MPCS just to double check and they said they haven’t received a claim yet but under our plan, we are covered for one. With that said, I still cannot find a reason why our idiot of a Doctor would give my wife such a hard time over a breast pump considering that she’s already at 9 months!
This is simply a very typical act from a clinic run by Chinese people. They’re always looking for a shortcut and trying to scam their customers. The nurses here are often incompetent, they can’t draw blood for their life! For the first few appointments, they sent my wife over to another Lab Corp clinic to get her blood work drawn. When my wife started to get her blood work done back at Charles Wang, the incompetent nurse stuck the needle into her arm multiple times because they couldn’t find her vein. They stuck it so far up into her skin to the point where the stupid nurse was wiggling the needle around looking for the vein while hurting my wife and putting her in tears. There’s also one nurse that has the tendency to get into people’s personal business about WIC. She’ll literally tell it to your face and give her personal opinion whether you would qualify for WIC or not. Whether we do or don’t, that is none of her concern or business but she keeps mentioning it whenever my wife encounters her during her weekly appointments. Everyone here including the patients are obnoxious, extremely loud and rude. The entire staff at the receptionist desk speaks at a decibel that will blow your ears away. The social worker is the most dumbest useless person I have ever met in my life. It’s annoying enough to get a an appointment with her, and when you do, every response out of her mouth is whether if I asked our doctor about it. Nobody wants to take responsibility for anything here and everyone gives vague ass answers and directs you to their incompetent social worker while the social worker re-​directs you to someone else who is also just as incompetent. I keep stressing how INCOMPETENT everyone here at Charles Wang Health Center because the stupidity level is at an all time high. How difficult is it to sign off on a breast pump? My wife has been seeing the same doctor for 9 months and they have the nerve to pull this during the final days of her pregnancy? Enough is enough! This clinic is an absolute abomination and I highly advise any future moms NOT to come this DUMP!

If you want staffs/​nurses from hell do go to this place. They sincerely don’t care about patients. They will deliberately delay you access to your medical record. staffs are rude, patronize you, take your money and provide dis-​service. I was not able to speak to my doctor at all. All the time, there is only 1 way communication. Forget 2 way doctor/​patient relationship. You will not get it here. All doctors/​nurses lack experience and don’t speak english. Only non-​english speaking medicaid chinese go there. Do expect to wait hours past your appointment to be seen. Forget about seeing a doctor without appointment. They will make your wait 7 hours! They will deny your rights as patient. See all sort of misconduct by all doctors/​staffs. If you complaint, they will hang up on you or yell at you; very unprofessional and deranged.

Great community health center! Convenient location and attentive staff. My husband keeps his appointment because they remind him. Doctors call him about his test results. Waiting room is comfortable but can get crowded at times. Overall, quality service. I recommend this center to my friends and family.

I changed my child’s pediatrician from a private practice to Charles Wang Center. The waiting time is a lot shorter, the Doctor spent a lot more time on my child. And it’s open 7 days a week, if you doctor is not working on that day, they would let you see another doctor if you don’t mind.

I am so amazed to see how professional they are. I am sure lots of doctors & nurses are as good as i had with Dr Kangxia Gu and. Rest of the team here @ health center .The good thing you don’t have to wait for too long when you get in & the front desk receptionist are very good on scheduling your next appointment. Expect nurses to call you in 10 min if you are on time. Plonk !! You are in. Dr Gu is a very calm person & she takes time with ease to explain your diagnosis & what to do to prevent & what helps to improve to next level. She has referred me to some of the best doctors ever in my life for GI tract & neuro. Dr Lei ding another intellect, Dr Michael Li, extremely kind & supportive experienced surgeon & my best of the best Dr Nan sander MD. Very very good & personal doctor. Her explanation on medical conditions & what might have caused just makes you feel like you took a cool shower on Niagara Falls & you alright now. Feelin great !! That good !!! even after hardcore endoscopy & colonoscopy in the morning.

This place is one of those poorly kept secrets for anyone who doesn’t have health insurance. The clinic takes payment based on a sliding scale from your income, so poor freelancers… this is the place to be.
Appointments are kind of stupid in this place since people often walk in and just sign in – it almost feels more like a first come, first serve basis than appointment based but you should call anyway. You might have to wait up to 45 mins on the weekends to see your doctor.
Some doctors here are amazing and I would totally recommend: Dr. JP Chen for psychiatry & Koky Sang for PCP. And there are some others that are terrible, esp this one female doctor. But not to worry, just ask for another doctor next time if you don’t like the one you got.
Service is not great, but it’s a community clinic – not a 5-​star spa so just grin and bear with it. After all, your health is important! If you have any issues, go check it out.
