My family and I will not go to any other eye place! The staff here is very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Dr. Kornblatt is the best!!! He is so patient, takes his time conducting the exam, gives thorough explanations to make sure you know what is going on, and never rushes you out. Our family totally loves him and his staff!!!

Dr. Kornblatt is a very good doctor. He’s knowledgeable, polite & treats his patients with respect. Then why am I giving his shop only 3 stars?
Well, it’s because of the extremely rude, disrespectful & obnoxious woman that the good doctor has as his main assistant. I’ve been to this place a few times now over a couple of years, so I know that the lady is not just having a bad day but she is nasty by nature. She is not only disrespectful to the patients but also to the other Asian assistants which I assume are her subordinates. If not for this lady, I would give this place 5 stars for sure.

I have not been to an optometrist in over 5 years and being that I am not extending my eye insurance next year, I had to take advantage of the benefits before the year ends.
After some Unilocal research, I decided to book an appointment with Better Sight. I called and confirmed that they take my insurance and booked an appointment a month out. They called a day before b/​c they had some issue with finding my info with my insurance but we straightened that out on the phone and confirmed my appointment.
Arrived at 10:35am for my 10:30 appointment. I was greeted by a pleasant woman who spoke very good English at the counter. She gave me a short form to fill out and took me to the measuring machine to get my preliminary eyesight check done. Then while I waited for the dr to see me, I tried on various frames (over 20 frames! the woman efficiently looked around the whole store and provided frames in my price range ~$ 130 – 180 and gave me some nice yet candid feedback) and just as I made my frame decision ($ 135), the dr was ready to see me! Perfect timing! It’s quite refreshing when someone is looking out for your interest — I knew because after she found out I was open to frames in the range of $ 180 she still brought me some that were $ 130!
Dr. Kornblatt was as everyone said — super nice and conversational without feeling too pushy and was generally very helpful. He answered all of my questions and provided advice. The eye exam was comprehensive, painless, and done in about 15 minutes.
After the exam, I came out and the woman gave me a breakout of each component of the pair of glasses that I am getting and provided some recommendations on getting a long-​lasting pair of glasses w/​o paying excessively for it. In the end, my glasses was $ 112 out of pocket after insurance.
After my visit, I found the reviews of Better Sight Vision to be accurate as usual (yay~~). I would totally go back if I have eye questions or other needs.

Excellent exam by Dr. Kornblatt. He is very knowledgeable and has a good attitude. Helpful service by other staff for picking out frames and choosing lenses. They took the time to help me purchase what I wanted. I am pleased with my two new pairs of glasses.

I went to Nu Eyes first which is only a few blocks down. But they were charging me $ 300 for just the lenses and $ 200 for my frames. I know the lenses can get super expensive since my eyes are so bad but I did not want to drop $ 500. So I came to Better Sight and they were very understanding and very very helpful.
The lady explained that my lenses will be super thick so I needed really small frames. Then she went above and beyond helping me choose the right frames that will not make my lenses look like thick bottle caps, moderately priced, and looks somewhat good on me. Most salespeople will want to sell you the most expensive frames but she understood that I was on a tight budget so she didn’t whip out only the high-​end ones.
The lenses were much cheaper here (only $ 250) and the frame I bought was only $ 90 (because I got a very old-​fashioned grandma style). I didn’t love the frame but it was cheap and she said this style will help my thick lenses not look so… thick.
I didn’t get to meet Dr. Kornblatt but everyone was so friendly, knowledgeable, and so very helpful!!!
Going back next week to pick them up and hopefully, i’ll love it.

Doctor kornblatt was extraordinary, he had the knowledge and the patience to answer all the questions that i had, i felt like i knew him for a long time, even though it was my first visit, definitely recommended.

Absolutely amazing doctor and staff. Super friendly and knowledgable. I have serious eye issues and need extra care and a doctor who knows what he is doing. Also great selection of frames at reasonable prices. So happy with my experiences here.

BEST EYE PLACE OF ALL TIME!
I know that’s a hard phrase to believe but I’ve had to wear glasses almost all of my 27 years of existence and have gone to tons and tons of different eye places so trust me… Just trust me.
I went to Better-​Sight Vision Center after seeing all the great reviews here on Unilocal.«Some of these peoples reviews must be exaggerating» I thought. I WAS WRONG.
My first experience with them was with a phone call. I called in to ask if this place received my insurance. The receptionist sounded very kind and nice. And she immediately said yes showing she was knowledgeable about which insurances they receive. You don’t know how many places I’ve gone to and have had to wait until the receptionist «checks their system» or ask someone else such basic information. Anywho, I also told her that I wanted to go the following day for an eye exam and pick up some new glasses. She responded that would be no problem and wanted to be ready so she asked for my name and date of birth. We made an appointment and everything finished smooth.
Next day I go and they are not only waiting for me but have a print out outlining my coverage! Well that was new for me! While I waited for the eye doctor (Dr. Martin Kornblatt) a polite man that was explaining my insurance suggested we start looking through some frames. He was very helpful. Took his time showing me different types of frames, asks me what my likes were, and even called a distributor to see if they had a particular frame in a color I wanted. They had a wide variety of frames and styles. Burberry, Calvin Klein, Ray Ban, Gucci, Adidas, Nike I mean the list goes on. Once we picked one (Tom Ford) the man proceeded to get started with the paperwork while I went in for the eye exam.
This is the part where the examination went from a B to an A+. Dr. Kornblatt is an exceptional eye doctor. He is very delicate in how he treats you and makes you feel very comfortable. He talks to you like if you guys were old friends. Talk about family, work, spare time activities everything. But not only that he performs a very thorough eye exam. Yes he includes the usual «which is better? 1… Or 2» but he also throws in special drops to see the surface of the eye as well as other parts of the exam. I also had mentioned casually that I hadn’t really used contacts before. So he then took out some «dailies» and let me try the contacts to see what they were like. That’s another new one! We finished the visit and I payed off the frames.
A few days later, not sure how many but definitely less than a week, I received a call saying my glasses were ready. I went to pick them up and everything was great.
This place truly lives up to the hype. I will continue to go there for as long as they are three. I hope this place stays the same

They are all simply the best! Dr. Kornblatt is very patient, knowledgeable, and honest. Kathleen is also very patient and provides wonderful customer service. They are highly recommended. Oh, and their prices are great.

I’ve been going to Dr. Kornblatt for over 6 years. He is very knowledgeable and great with handling questions and concerns. You can tell he really cares about his patients (and people in general) with how he treats them.
However, his reception staff is another story. I almost gave four stars because of them. They’ve messed up my appointment twice before and they’re sometimes very brusque. However, my last visit was pleasant and I didn’t see the usual suspects. I’ll assume that they were let go or otherwise reprimanded.
Eitherway, based on my last visit, service was great. Dr. Kornblatt even had my glasses done the same day because he wanted me to enjoy my vacation (I had to go back to work out of town in a few days). Great guy!

If you are looking for an eye doctor or prescription for your glasses. look no further. Dr. Martin Kornblatt is THE BEST ONE you could ever find.
I went there today and asked for the possibilities to get an OK-​Lens. Even though Martin does not do OK-​Lens, he took time and explained to me how OK-​Lens works, the pros and cons. He did not even want to charge me anything, I felt bad and asked for a regular prescription, so he checked my eyes and see if my currently glasses were properly made.
Dr. Martin Kornblatts is the BEST eye doctor in Flushing (if not the whole NYC Metro area) OF ALL TIME! He is professional, kind, patience and knowledgeable. I don’t even want to mention the very Inexpensive and Nominal fees that he charges, because that would be disrespectful to the truly excellent services that he provides.
Dr. Martin deserves a MEDAL from flushing township for the services. The Kornblatts family has been running this place in Flushing since 1961. Flushing should be THANKFUL that these guys are still here.
Because for the first time in many years, Dr. Martin made me feel that Flushing is STILL a part of the United States.

I only went to this place to replace the nose pieces fir my glasses back in September. It’s the end of November and one of them is already broken. I’ve had my previous set for two years before it broke. They probably need a better supplier.

I’ve been going to see Dr. Kornblatt for over 30 years since I worked across the street at the Flushing Post Office. He is the greatest, a nice person that has helped me with vision issues many times. I always go there for my glasses and contacts. They make my glasses so thin that it looks like my vision isn’t bad at all. I don’t live in the area but I will always go to Better Sight.

Dr. Kornblatt is awesome went to see him after reading the great reviews and loved the experience. The staff is so nice and friendly. He was great explained everything like no other doctor has ever done before. I mentioned that I’m thinking about getting LASIK and he did tests to let me know if I’m eligible. After visiting many doctors finally found the best one.

I’ve been going to Dr. Kornblatt for years. About 5 years ago I moved to California. Last year, when I needed to replace my contact lenses, I ended up going to a local doctor. It was ridiculous — I ended up going back several times to get the prescription fixed and it STILL wasn’t right. I couldn’t read street signs when I was driving!
Since my parents live in Flushing and I visit a few times year, this year I gave up and just went to Dr. Kornblatt. He’s amazing. He got it right the first time, and I see better than I had all year!
This chick flies around 2,500 miles to see him (well ok, not only for him, but still…)
AND I got a pair of Coach glasses for $ 175! Now I can be a Hollywood snob too!

No point to me making a long review because sometimes Unilocal wont show it.
However, after looking this place up from Unilocal search feature, I decided to go from Brooklyn G line to get a vision exam for DMV. No way I am going to DMV unless it’s mandatory. For less than $ 20 including subway fare round trip, I took care of business.
I walked in, filled out papers, came back in 30 minutes and the exam was 2 minutes in length. My eyes had no problem passing. Highly recommend them. They do a lot of business there so they have plenty of experience.

I needed a quick (and cheap) eye exam so I could renew my license online and decided to check this place out because of the glowing reviews on Unilocal (even though there are places closer to me).
Well, the reviews were absolutely correct. I walked in, asked if I could get a quick eye exam and my DMV form filled out, and the nice lady said «sure.» Within three minutes the doctor examined me. The actual eye exam took less than a minute. He filled out the DMV eye test form and I was in and out, literally, in less than ten minutes.
And the cost?
Just $ 10 dollars (well worth it by the time I would have had to pay for parking and the hassle of the DMV). As others have noted, Dr. Kornblatt is extremely nice, as is the woman at the front counter.

If I could give Dr Kornblatt 10 stars, I would!
My boyfriend and I are both physicians, so we know what to expect from another health care professional. Dr Kornblatt exceeded our expectations. If only every physician could be like him!
He is extremely knowledgeable and an expert in the field.
He provided a full and thorough exam unlike other places I’ve been to in the past.
Not once did he ever try to sell or push a product.
He only gave me good news.
He was so warm, friendly, and sincere, I felt like I could chat with him for hours.
He was insistent that I maintained my freedom to choose whatever I wanted whenever I wanted. For that reason, I actually wanted to purchase my contacts and eyeglasses from him even if they were more expensive. But as it turns out, it is MUCH MUCH CHEAPER to purchase contacts and eyeglasses from him! I was even given a 40% discount on the most expensive eyewear in the store (TOM FORD .love my insurance)!
My boyfriend liked him so much he got his eye exam after mine, and it turns out that my boyfriend has been wearing contacts that are too strong for him. Even though he has a few boxes of contacts left with the old prescription, Dr Kornblatt offered to trade in those boxes for new ones with the correct prescription!
I feel that Dr Kornblatt’s services are too good for Flushing (he’d fare well on the UES in Manhattan), and Flushing is fortunate to have him in the area.
My boyfriend never gives 5 stars on Unilocal but he said «Dr Kornblatt is definitely a 5 star» .
His staff, a wonderful woman with brown hair, was so helpful and sweet in helping us choose our glasses. BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER.
