West County rice. Enough said. Other dishes were good but fried rice was not typical to what I’m accustom to from the good Chinese places in North County. Hot braised chicken 5, rice zero. So this place gets a 3.

My go to for Chinese here in ferguson Food is consistently good. Dot even try to order through Unilocal.Jut look at the menu and call them to find out if they deliver to you… I lost their menu and used the site to look up the menu. Tried to order and couldn’t because they allegedly did not deliver. I hope this gets sorted because they could be losing business from that.

Tonight after picking up the Mrs at her work, we decided to go visit Chins Wok on the way home. It’s next to the Schnucks Grocery store, and we needed a few groceries. At first I thought they were closed as the outside lights were not on, and it was dark outside. We then noticed a girl behind a counter and two people inside ordering. We were going to eat in, but it was so cold inside that the girl behind the counter had a sweatshirt zipped up to her neck. We decided to order General Tsos(hers) and sesame beef(his). We sat in the freezing cold dining room with 20+ empty tables for about 20 minutes waiting for the food to get done. The phone rang constantly and there was a steady line of walk-in customers, so they must be doing something right. We got home and found the food to be perfectly adequate. If the furnace is broken, put a sign on the door. And, for the poor girl taking orders, you could pipe some of that heat from the kitchen out to the front of the house.

I feel icky. In the midst of a half day, I decided to find something that was not Burger King or Taco Bell for an early dinner. Pockets of Florissant can have some pretty unique places, but I was kind of on the edge of Ferguson where little interesting exists. Therefore, I chose an old family favorite, Chin’s Wok. Now some of you have heard me rant about my Chinese snobbery. With that being said, today was not a good day for Chin’s Wok. Normally, I enjoy what I have enough, but my stomach ain’t too pleased with the meal today. On the positive side, CW is fairly inexpensive. I ordered the Sesame Chicken with pork fried rice and two crab rangoon for about seven dollars after tax. Also, the portions are significant. I’m still staring at what I couldn’t fit in my tummy! Finally, I will give it up for the crab rangoon. A lot of these places really jip you on the filling, but the cream cheese was flowing from these babies! On to the downside. The quality of the chicken was just not there. For this price, I don’t expect my fowl to be free range and read a bedtime story every night before sleep, but I had a hard time differentiating between the breading and the chicken. Also, the fried rice was pretty flavorless. Determined to finish my meal, I am now feeling pretty gross. I guess that I shouldn’t be surprised that I didn’t find the best Chinese in my home town of Florissant, MO, but I would have like just a little better.

Just like their is a health dept, to regulate sanitation codes, we need a customer service dept, to teach and regulate customer service ethics to these pop up chinese food spots. If I order something, and don’t like it, because it taste like sewerage, then what happened to customer satisfaction(the customer is always right). If I go to Taco Bell or Panda Express, then I’m sure, that they will try to make the customer happy. Then these folks got the nerve to have a tip cup on the counter. Never order the lo mein. They probally will give you the same full box of lo mein that I left on the counter, because I’m quite sure I’m not the first person to be disgusted.

If this place were destroyed by a neutron bomb, I couldn’t be happier. We’ve ordered from here several times, with an eta of 45 minutes. After waiting an hour and a half every time, we called back asking where our order was. Each time we got the response, «We just started making it. It will be there in half an hour.» No apologies or anything. If I had nothing to do in my life besides wait for Chinese food, it wouldn’t be a problem. But alas, I have a life. Too much of a pain in the a** for mediocre Chinese food. I’m not insinuating that they are using dog as an ingredient. However, the first and last time I ordered their hot n sour soup, I was immediately hit by the distinct smell of wet dog. A very unpleasant aroma when it comes to food. The best Chinese food in North County/Florissant is Old St. Louis Chop Suey. Chins Wok, you suck.

Best Chinese in North County — consistently good food. Our family favorites are: teriyaki chicken sticks and crab rangoons. Beef n broccoli is always a fave and anything with black bean sauce is wonderful. I love their hot n sour soup — I get cravings for it… hmmm what are they putting in it? And the curry chicken is terrific. You can’t go wrong. And the owners are great. Always friendly even when busy. We have been going there since they opened. Have tried another place or two but always come back to Chin’s to the point that we stopped going anywhere else. Don’t know what we’d do w/o them. Now I’m hungry for some Chin’s!

One of my favorite fast, friendly, cheap, & clean chinese food. I always get the same thing. Chicken and broccoli, its light flavorful and easy to eat. The chicken is tender and the sauce is not too greasy or oily. I like their rice, its not the dry cheap kind, its actually soft and chewy. Their fried rice is okay, not my favorite because its a different style. Same with the crab rangoon. But I like the people who work their they are always happy to see me. Hope you come for a try and see how your experience is like. The Chicken and Broccoli Lunch is about $ 5 and the Dinner is about $ 6 – 7 not bad
