I’ve recently just tried this pizza. I got a large sausage pizza and a supreme. Both were excellent! The girl working the register was very friendly. I’ve lived my whole life in North County and never had this! Gotta make up for lost pizza time!

My husband and I was looking for a different pizza place to visit and I am glad we decided to come here. The pizza was great!!! & like another patron mentioned it did taste a lot like Roma’s Pizza…(I miss that place)…:(We will definitely be back… btw…We ordered carry out and I’m glad we did, the place is very small & that night it was packed to the max. Although I like to sit and enjoy a nice hot pie with my husband, I think carry out will be our way to go for this establishment.

I have been a long-time customer of this establishment. I’m writing this review because although I’ve never been impressed by the service, the food has always been good. The staff is usually unwelcoming therefore I’ve always ordered takeout. Recently, I ordered a large pizza with 3 toppings and a large special salad with no pepperoni and no salami(this means I received a lettuce with ham and some shavings of cheese). This is fewer ingredients than I remember but I’m making healthier choices so, oh well. I also ordered the dressing in the side and paid $ 32.02. It wasn’t until I arrived home and set out dinner that I realized I did not receive the dressing. I called the store about 8 times before leaving home to let them know to no avail. I continued to call and was a block away from the restaurant when the lady cashier answered and I explained my situation. I walked into the restaurant and she pointed towards a gentleman stating it was his fault that I did not receive the dressing. His comment to me was«I’m sorry, people make mistakes». When I asked for my dressing he became emphatic and said«I said I’m sorry, people make mistakes!» I told him that I heard him the 1st time but I would just like what I paid for so that I can be on my way. I went on to say that«you clearly want me to tell you it’s ok, but it’s not ok. It’s been a long day, I’m tired and this is an inconvenience». I have several concerns about this experience: 1). The cashiers response«its not my fault» implies that teamwork is not part of the process at this establishment. 2). My inconvenience was dismissed as insignificant. 3). The cook’s «apology» appeared disingenuous. In short, I’m easily annoyed when I receive bad service and even further when I encounter people who do not appreciate me as a customer.

I use to live in St. Louis and was a frequent visitor to Angelo’s. I have lived and traveled most of the US and have never found anything nearly as good. And I have tried. So I have to settle for my once every year or two visit back to the area to make my trip to get the best pizza anywhere…

Best pizza I’ve ever had. Pricey, probably about $ 20 for a large. Very good though. Love this place. It looks like a hole in the wall and they don’t deliver, pizza is great though

My boyfriend’s family was in town for a few days and since Fresh Italy was closed for the New Year until the 5th, we had to improvise. We had a party of 15 and they sat us in the middle of the room with one round table and one rectangle table. It was easy to talk to everyone. They have a tv in the corner and one of the tables in the corner is packed to the roof of empty pizza boxes ready to be filled with people’s orders. Then another table to occupied by two teenagers or maybe workers but they did help customers. Its not a great place to have a bigger party. Now to the food. The menu is very simple. If you decide to get a salad, the small will feed two. The ranch is tasty! The salad comes with lettuce, some tomatoes and sliced up cheese with a dressing of your choice already on the salad. Boyfriend and I shared a small(about 12 slices vs the large which is 16 slices) bacon pizza. They’re not cheap on the bacon either. It was corner to corner bacon! Great crust! We also had the meat sauce with toasted ravs. They’re okay. I’d get them again but its not the reason why I would go again. I will say that I’d never go there at night again, the parking lot had no lighting that is to the side of the building, which made me feel uneasy. I also did not like the highchair they provided my daughter. It did not have a strap and was made ages ago. Since we had a large party, when we got our bills, tip was already included on the bill without us being told. That was the first time I’ve ever seen that! I will not eat there again but I would order carry out.

My wife and I were in St. Louis for a conference. We told one of her local friends that we wanted to experience true«St. Louis-Style Pizza.» Her friend suggested Angelo’s Pizzeria in Florissant. As we were coming from the zoo in downtown StL, Florissant seemed so far away! We were thinking, «this better be good!.» Well. .. it was heavenly. The restaurant is a no-frills kind of place: a small room with a TV and a few Italian stock photographs. A man(husband?) worked in the kitchen while a woman(wife?) was the cashier /waitress. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from St. Louis-style pizza. I had read that the crust is thin and cracker-life, the cheese is some kind of weird hybrid cheese called provel(cheddar, swiss, and provolone put together), and the toppings are stacked on heavily(hence the cracker-like crust). Someone at another restaurant had told us that provel was«like plastic.» He couldn’t have been further from the truth. We ordered a pizza with green bell peppers, mushroom, and hamburger meat. The pizza was rectangular and cut into squares. Sure enough, the toppings were stacked high on a crispy thin crust. The cheese was AMAZING! It was all melty, gooey, and messy. The pizza was almost more of a nacho! I don’t know what to say to all you haters out there. StL-style pizza is wonderful. We had StL-style pizza a few other times on our trip, but none were as good as Angelo’s. We even wanted to make the 30 minute trek out to Angelo’s the day our flight flew out for more pizza but we didn’t have the time!

Wow. First time here but have heard about this place for years. We shared a large spaghetti with meatballs and a large pepperoni and sausage pizza and an order of toasted raviolis. Did I say wow already?! The homemade toasted ravs were smaller than the usual frozen type served at most places but were lightly breaded, meaty and very yummy. The pizza was hot and fresh. The very melted provel cheese mixed wonderfully with the sauce making it smooth and creamy. And now the spaghetti. The sauce had a sweet tang to it. The meatballs were not quite baseball size. It only comes with 2, we ordered an extra one but the 2 would have been plenty. We took most of the pizza home for our boys. First time they had it also and we got a couple thumbs up as they were stuffing it into their face. So Angelos will definitely be one of our go to places for great thin crust St. Louis style pizza. And meatballs!

This is a NoCo staple. Has been around since I was a small child. I only get their pizza, so that’s all I can speak for. I love their crust, it’s thin and airy on the ends, nice and crispy with a buttery taste. Their cheese is a blend of provel and some others, it has a great flavor and their meats & veggies are awesome. It’s by far my favorite pizza.

I live near this restaurant and we order from here probably once every couple of months or so. We’ve never dined in. Only carry out. Also.. .I’m a creature of habit, so we only order a large supreme. We were referred here by some neighbors a long time ago. This pizza is always AMAZing! It is fresh and hot and the ingredients taste fresh. The pizza is absolutely delicious. One of these days I’ll probably venture out and try something other than the supreme. But I would recommend this place. The inside is not much to write home about. It’s very small. Only a few tables around the room and an old TV on the wall. There’s always an old lady sitting in the back. It’s definitely a family restaurant and this old lady is a permanent fixture. Highly refcommended for take out. Not so much for the atmospher and dine in experience. But the food.. .you won’t be disappointed.

This is the best pizza place in St. Louis. I have read several negative reviews but it pretty clear they just don’t like at Louis style pizza and that’s fine. I have been getting pizza here for over 30 years! My father use to drive me to pick it up and I would ride home with the warm box on my lap and the awesome smell in the car. North St. Louis county doesn’t have to much going for it these days but it is nice to recognize those businesses that truly excel and remain when so many people and businesses have left the area!

Very good pizza! I would give five stars, but not sure what I think about the cheese mixture. The host was five stars.

Did not like it. My pizza crust was soggy except for the edges and unless you like practically raw bacon… don’t get bacon at all. They put a lot of it on there too. It wasn’t crispy… not even the pieces on top. Would not recommend. I’ll eat imos first.

I’m really puzzled by some of these bad reviews, but from what I gathered some people are not fans of provel cheese? Guess it’s an acquired taste! Lol if you don’t like provel this isn’t the place for you. I had Angelos pizza a few times and I would say it’s in my top 3. I live pretty far away from it so I only go if I’m down for a drive out to Black Jack but it’s definitely worth the drive. Sausage is homemade and is so good, I always get the sausage and mushroom pizza, with a side order of toasted ravs which are homemade as well!

I think their pizza is pretty good. I like the cheese they put on it. I love a good old greasy — savory pizza. I had the meat lovers, and pretty good in my opinion. I am going to have to rank them better, this pizza is just fabulous. The pizza itself comes out in a square pan, the large is always what I order as I love pizza. The leftovers the next day are just as good as the piping hot pizza they bring to your table. They have about eight tables, so make sure you come early to get a spot especially on weekends as I hate taking my pizza home right away, I love to enjoy it while it is still fresh and hot bubbling with cheese. Angelo’s can get crowded so secure your spot at a table, they do have a one tables that will seat about eight people most are for four. The pizza smells great when it comes out to you, and I love holding a piece of pizza pie under my nostrils before I bite into it and smell those aromatic meats, you can smell the porky and beefy and cheese permeating together… just a great fragrance to me. The taste of the pizza, is just so good, a greasy by choice, sweet, spicy and meaty for the one I ordered. I don’t think you will be disappointed by the flavor. I am sure they have healthier alternatives of pizza, but if I am eating pizza it does not have to be healthy, I would enjoy organic, free range items on it, but a good pizza none the less. You can park in front if they are not crowded otherwise you have to park on the side. The building is nice and clean, is connected to other businesses. A TV sits in the dining area for your enjoyment, however, only if you are sitting towards it to see it. The customer service is about as good as it gets for a place this size, I have no complaints on service quality! I love Angelo’s because it is like a mom and pop pizzeria with great people and I am sure as you get to know them, it only gets better for the dining experience. I have only tried the pizza however, I know Angelo’s sales wings also and more… they also have beer for your enjoyment as well. For me this is the best original pizza joint close to me, as the others are a bit of a drive. I would like to try and get here more often if I could, I can see this being my place for a couple times out of the week meal.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I guess my husband and I are not big fans of St. Louis style pizza. The cheese, provel, is processed and tastes fake/cheap. We normally love little family owned businesses where usually the food is made with love and service is friendly. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with grim straight faces. The restaurant looks old and dirty. When I pulled my chair out, my eyes fell on a dead cockroach on the ground. Everything just seemed grimy. We took our pizza to go and struggled to finish it. Do not recommend!

How do you write a 5 star review and have never been to the place? Well I will attempt to answer that question along with my review. I have had this pizza for years yet never walked into the place. They have catered Saturday lunch for the store for a long time. I swear each pizza weighs 5 pounds. What a selection they give us. Sausage, Cheese, Hamburger, cheese less, and The Special. The special is loaded with onions, peperoni, sausage, mushrooms and I can’t tell you what else. Angelo’s Pizza is what everyone should try at least one time in their life. It is a St. Louis style with homemade crust. Served in a square as a St. Louis style should be served. I have no idea what the service is like nor would I care. The pizza is that good.
