GREAT deals! Most Aldi brands are actually name brands just repackaged. About six months ago I switched over from shopping at places like Dierbergs and Schnucks — the savings have seriously been astounding. I am able to get triple what I got before for the same amount of money. And this isn’t for frozen or boxed items — fresh vegetables, fruits, produce of all kinds for cheap cheap. The milk, eggs, produce, meat — all well priced and good quality. I have not had any negative experiences with my purchases. They have a great canned aisle with canned tomatoes(which I love for making chili and soups), plus beans and all kind of other staples that are good for stews, soups, etc. I’m able to stock-up on chicken, cheese. If you haven’t given Aldi a chance, you really should try it for a month — compare your receipts and see how much you’ve been saving. I am shocked everytime I check out how small my bill is in comparison to the amount of food I have purchased. In addition to the Aldi brands, they often have great deals on name brands as well — cereals, yogurts, etc. They carry fresh bread, baked goods, spices, all baking staples, oils, juices, soda, chips, condiments — everything you could need as long as you aren’t looking for something super specific. It is important to remember that they ONLY take cash or debit cards — I’ve gotten stuck a couple of times when I forgot and only had a credit card — had to wait for my fiancé to come rescue me. You need to bring your own bags or purchase some of theirs — they have really nice durable resuable bags that I’ve purchased about ten of and keep in my car and you bag your own groceries. And don’t forget a quarter for the cart!
