La Bamba

Great lunch specials here, worth checking out. I travel for work and am always looking for something more than just a corporate restaurant. La Bamba offers all you want in Mexican food. Besides the usual tacos, burtitos, etc there are many good specials. But today i wanted a quick tasty lunch, and I got it. I was greeted by Perla who was very friendly, and always checking on me. Good service! They serve a large platter of nachos and 2 salsas, one hot & other mild. They have a nice $ 4.99 lunch special, I was able to get a carnitas burrito with onions, cheese and rice/​beans. Just what I wanted, I always love delicious shredded pork and this was served right. Glad I stopped by, and I look forward to coming back.

Wow. they have Jamaica! This usually means its at least semi authentic and generally a bit better tasting than average.
It is indeed. With 5 being average, I found the lunch prices and portions to be a 6., taste to be a 7, and the service an 8.
It was not one of those «oh wow!» Moments, but I was certainly not disappointed. If we come by this way again, I’m sure we will stop.

Very very good food. Chips and salsa excellent. Fajitas were the bomb!!! We will be back for sure!!!

It was very tasty. We ordered a burger, which came Bru juicy and tasty and we tried the tote bombs. They came with rémoulade and ranch sauces which were a great addition to those already tasty crispy bites. We were happily surprised overall. Service was good as well.

Food and service was excellent. Had chicken fajitas, my family had veg mushroom fajitas. Quantity was perfect for half order. Would highly recommend this place.

Very good food, excellent service, and very pretty décor. Note the hand-​carved chairs and the giant gumball machine by the door! The prices seemed ridiculously low by our standards (We live in Florida). If we lived here, we’d be regulars!

I don’t know who thinks this is good Mexican food, it absolutely sucks and is not authentic at all. Nothing is home made and everything is bland and the drinks are weak. I think Chipotle is an an improvement to this place. If you want good food this is not the place.

We had the chicken fajitas for two they give you huge portion very affordable for the excellent quality the fajitas were awesome!!! We were just driving through on our way to Florida very covenant to get on and off the highway! Everything was excellent!

WONDERFUL service, food was all really good (a little heavy on the fats for this vegetarian). This place had MORE veggie options than any other restaurant in town.

Satisfied. I was passing by on my way to New York and it was wirth getting off the interstate.

Very yummy dinner on the road. Portions were generous and delicious. If I lived in the area, I would stop in again. We had steak fajitas with queso and loved them.

Who would have thought that I would find the best Mexican food in the Middle of South Carolina!
I had the «Mixed Fajitas Con Queso». Translation; fajitas with cheese. It was so delicious! The chicken and steak was well-​seasoned.
It’s a lot of food! I mean, we’re talking enough for 2 people. All for $ 11!
If my travels are to bring me back to Florence; I know where to grab some grub.

Just stopped in for lunch on rode trip. Food was delicious. Place was clean. Service was friendly and very fast. After all that, the food was WAY less expensive than you would expect for such a good place. They could raise their prices 20% and still be a fantastic deal.

Great value. Chicken taco with a corn tortilla was delicious; flavorful and a good size. Didn’t have any margaritas, but they looked good! Worth a stop if you are on the area and craving Mexican. All that good for just over $ 6! Gilberto, my server, was fantastic and even gave me fresh chips to go.

Great lunch on the road! Very generous servings and attentive wait staff. Loved the chicken quesadilla!

Great food. Good parking across the street for rvs. Cheap lunch specials! I got the Pollo Ranchero for 4.99.

Thanks Unilocal!What a great find! It’s a family run authentic Mexican. I had the Grilled Chicken Molé and it was fantastic. The real deal. And how about those $ 1.99 Happy Hour Margaritas?! Wonderful place that I wish I could revisit, but will I ever get to Florence, SC again?

Great eatery, service is excellent. Wonderful staff, must go. Much better and authentic than any other Mexican restaurant in this city.

Great location just off Rt 95. Easy on and off
Greeted at the door by the owners. Felt right at home. Food was fabulous and lots of it. The chips and salsa were fresh and delicious. Loved those warm chips. I had the shrimp fajita. Lots of food with plenty to share. Will make this stop during the next excursion through SC.

I visited La Bamba again today with a group of coworkers. It was my first trip there in over a year, but my 5 star review still stands. La Bamba is an excellent Mexican restaurant.
They offer a 10% discount to lots of workplaces close by the restaurant, which is a great small incentive to go there for lunch. 5 of us went, and we were seated immediately. They also brought us two large portions of chips and salsa (both hot and mild salsa). When you have 5 people, it’s great that you have enough chips and salsa so you don’t run out. Our drinks did not run out either.
It was pretty packed in there today, for good reason, but our food still came out quickly and everyone’s order was correct. I had a shrimp taco salad, which was excellent. The salad had probably 10 shrimp at the bottom of it, and it was huge. Big shrimp too!
The only confusing thing is they bring you your check in a black folder, and you have to go up to the counter to pay. It’s not 100% clear that you have to go to the counter rather than give the check to your server.
