Hammonds Service Center

I brought my old car here to get an estimate of how much it would cost to get it in working order. Instead of taking a couple thousand dollars and fixing up my car they were honest with me and told me the car is not worth the money that needs to go into it. I appreciated this honestly because I could have easily been ripped off elsewhere to end up with a car that was going to break down again in less than a year. I now have a nice newly used car that I will most definitely be taking to Hammonds Service Center for anything it needs!

The gals were good. They were able to sell me everything I needed. I wish I could spend more time with them. Next time I will bring snacks to share with Jackie.

Great Service. My vehicle was disabled while I was in the Florence area on business. They found the problem and only fixed what needed to be repaired instead of telling me I needed a new transmission.

The staff at Hammond’s was able to accomplish what I rarely find possible: Service that was reasonably priced, of high quality, and very quick. Greg was very accommodating regarding my tricky situation and unusual car. He was able to get me back on the road within 24 hours at a VERY reasonable price. My career makes me very experienced in customer service and operational excellence. Hammond’s gave me a great experience. I hope I don’t have any car trouble any time soon. But it’s very comforting to know where I’ll take any of my cars in case I do.

Short and sweet: for Excellent service, quality work, above and beyond customer service, you need to call Hammond’s. They stand behind their word and their work, a rarity that you don’t see anymore. After years of trial and error (lots of errors) of private service centers, dealerships, and chains, they’ve got my business from now and earned their reputation.

I had managed to tear up the front passenger side tie rod assembly on my car. After having the Ford dealership, Car X, and Tire Discounters look it over it Hammond’s pricing was BY FAR the best. Not only was their pricing superior but Greg at Hammond’s went and picked the car up FOR FREE to diagnose everything.
Hammond’s knowledge of cars and their uncanny honesty make dealing with car repair so much better. The two times I’ve had my car there they took care of the repairs quickly and their estimates were right on point. It can be tough to trust a mechanic but I feel comfortable saying that these guys are some of the best out there.

I called this morning to see if they could fit me in to take a look at my car. On short notice, with a full schedule and a full garage, i was expecting that getting it looked at might take a while, and i had to be at work at 11am today. I’m home now (it’s only 9:30 and i have no idea what to do for the next hour), and they didn’t charge me a dime to tell me what the problem was (they didn’t need to really do much to diagnose it). I could tell when he was wrapping up his explanation that he wasn’t going to charge me so i pulled out my wallet and asked, just to be sure, and he just said «merry Christmas.» (It’s September.) I’m pretty sure this is the shop i’ve been searching for.

I am no stranger to mechanics and their shops, my uncle is one and he owns his own shop, and so do two of my close friends. One of my biggest concerns when going to a mechanic is paying to much, with Hammonds, they are honest and fair with their prices. The are fast and thorough in their work. I’d highly recommend this place to anyone.

I will absolutely never, under any circumstances take a vehicle anywhere else. Period. Hammonds is the only mechanic shop I’ve ever had charge me LESS than what they quoted… and that was for performance brakes on a sports car, no less! They’re always friendly and personable. I’ve never been talked down to or felt jerked around because I’m female. Don’t understand exactly what’s wrong with your car? No problem, they’ll take you out to the shop and show you exactly what’s causing your issues. They’re fast, friendly, reliable and reasonably priced… what more can you ask for?

My family and I have been taking our cars to the guys at Hammonds since well before I was born. With what we deem our «Fleet of Hondas» between my parents, aunts, uncles and siblings we always seem to have at least one of our cars in at Hammonds at any given time. That’s because they do everything there from oil changes to major body work, Hammonds is the place!
I think the hardest thing about cars is that I don’t know anything about them. Like, I literally know how to start one and that’s about it. So, when something starts making a funny noise or it seems to be a bumpy ride or some light is flashing on my dash I start to panic, concerned that (rationally) my car might blow up when I’m backing down the driveway. Needless to say, I tend to take my car in to be serviced more than the average (capable) person. What this means is that I love the fact that I have someone I can take my car to that will: 1. Give me honest advice/​feedback and 2. Charge me fairly.
Every time I’ve been in to see George (our main mechanic and the owner) he takes a thorough look at the car and calls me with an honest opinion of what I should/​should not fix/​worry about. I trust him with complete confidence because they always do a wonderful job at an incredibly fair price in a quick turn around time. I also love that when I do take it in for an oil change, the do a quick tune up (at no additional charge) and check everything over to help prevent problems before they crop up.
I think it’s a testament to the quality of their services that we are still able to borrow my parent’s minivan from 1996 when we need to haul something because George and his team has kept it running. They also are honest when it’s time to retire a car, and they talked us through letting my husband’s old Nissan Centry go, telling us that it was no longer worth putting money into. Could they have told us to continue to fix it and milk more money out of us? Absolutely. But instead they did the honest thing and told us to say our goodbyes.
So, if you are looking for a trustworthy and affordable mechanic you absolutely will not find a better garage than Hammonds. And if you do go, ask for George and let him know the Rousters sent you! :)
