I didn’t think it was unreasonable to politely ask if I could order a sandwich without mayonnaise. However I’m greeted with the most fecicious tone and remark of «this isn’t burger King, you can’t have it your way». I was in such shock I didn’t even know how to react other than to just walk away. I’ve never been treated with such disrespect and hostility over something so trivial. If that’s the kind of people that are allowed to work there I’ll never eat at a sonic franchise. Especially when the infinitely superior white Castle is just down the road.

Food is better than some other fast food places. The problem is the service. I waited for ten minutes for a burger and cheese fries. Got it the burger was good but the fries where cold and cheese wasn’t melted. Then waited almost ten more months for it to be fixed

Just call me unimpressed, for real. I don’t know what other people see in this place or Sonic in general, but to each his own. I’m not a fan of whole«throwback fast food era» to begin with and this place is no exception. There is very little on their menu that I can eat, anyway, but what is on their menu has borderline ridiculous prices. Expensive shakes and burgers, etc. Terrible French fries, they were actually cold by the time we got them. Gross. Tasted like leftover McD’s French fries that I nuked in the microwave. I would rather go through the Subway drive-thru.

This place is awesome! They have 25 different flavors of slushies. 25 hand mixed shakes. People come out on roller skates delivering your order how cool! Bring the 70’s back with the extra flair was absolutely genius. They have a happy hour every day from 2 p.m. To 4 p.m. That consist of half price drinks and slushes. I don’t have a personal favor for either one they have a lot of great mixes that keeps me coming back time after time again.

Sonics has been a great pit stop, whenever I’m on a road trip. And since we aren’t close to any sonics, we take advantage of making a stop when we can. This location is fairly close to the exit and surrounded by gas stations and other eateries. Whenever I go through any drive-thru’s, I always get sooo anxious… I feel rushed to pick the first thing I see, especially when a car pulls up behind me. So I love the fact that you don’t have that added pressure of ordering right away, when you pull into a parking spot. I took advantage of the daily special– 2 corn dogs and a small order of tater tots(my fav) for $ 1.99 and my hubs ordered a double cheeseburger with tots and an ice cream slushie(lemon berry). The corn dogs were smaller than most corn dogs and the breading seemed to have spots of oil that had soaked through, which made the dogs not taste as good. Times like this I miss Hot Dog on a Stick. The tots also had a strong after taste of oil. Yes, they are fried in oil, but I’ve definitely had them taste much better at different locations. The slushie was very refreshing and big enough to spilt. I also love that the whipped cream doesn’t melt after a few minutes. Our total came out to $ 12– it’s sad how eating food that’s not the greatest for you is almost always cheaper. A plus is the service, which was quick and friendly. I would rate this location a 3.5.

We first pulled up to the speaker and pressed the button, no one answered then we tapped on the window and they said try again we did and after 5 minutes someone took our order, which needed to be repeated 4 times. Then about 15 minutes later we received our shakes, but not our food order and the person delivering said here’s your order and rollerskated away quickly… we continued to wait as we finished our shakes… then we pressed the button again and again and finally someone answered we are now at 25 minutes and still no food as we told the person on the other end. She said well I don’t have any order for you… I was upset and said I paid and have a receipt… she roller skated out to my car looked a the receipt and said sorry…5 minutes later we get our food not on the try, but in bags with no napkins and the order was wrong… well we ate the food which was pretty well done and the skater came back 5 minutes later and issued a full credit… which was nice… but this experience was terrible.

Great fun! During a road trip to Michigan, I finally had the chance to try Sonic Burger. Awesome! Sonic Burger is a drive-in only fast food joint, but for the 21st century. You drive up to an illuminated sign menu, decide what you want, press the red shiny button and a voice comes on to take your order. It was warm fall sunny day so we sat outside on restaurant patio, near the car. Our server came out on roller blades with our order and we were all set. I ordered the SuperSonic burger with cheese, fries and a coke. Others ordered the same but with milkshakes. The burger was big and beautiful, tasted fantastic! Was really pleasantly surprised. If I had Sonic here in Oshawa, it would be one of my favourites(along with Shake, Rabble and Roll, see review). So if you get the chance, be sure to try a Sonic burger, you won’t be disappointed!

This review may be a little overdue, as the Sonic craze(for me, at least) has come and gone. There was a time, however, that I couldn’t WAIT to see what all the hoopla was about! On a trip to see a friend near Flint, I saw this little beauty when she was still being built! I couldn’t wait to sample some of that«Sonic-Good”-ness I was hearing about for years now on my TV(Damn you TBS!!) and finally, when the little burger stand opened, I had my chance. Ugh! I REALLY hope this was just MY experience! I would have to say, «DON’T BELIEVETHEHYPE!!!» The order person that day was just dumb as a stump, I swear to God! Now, I know that they hire kids to do these kinds of jobs but I had to repeat a simple burger and fries order to her 4 times!!! I was about to go in and punch it in the little computer myself, but she seemed to have gotten it… finally. The wait was about 10 mins. Not bad, but not great for«fast» food. The biggest disappointment came though, in the taste of the food. It was mediocre, at best! Just a burger and fries. Nothing spectacular, nothing memorable. So, all that hoopla for what? Next time i’m in Flint, i’m going to Haloburger! Now THAT’s a good burger!

The days of yore when high school girls would roller skate up to your car, take your order, and then bring you your food, all while on a set of wheels. Well, those days are back: Kind of. The roller skates have been replaced with rollerblades, but the high school girls are still there. They weren’t wearing short-shorts, but it was fun to watch them zip across the parking lot. Alas, I did not get to enjoy the full Sonic experience. Thanks to Google Maps and my pig-headed belief that it could not be wrong, I took my wife and baby on joy ride through a seedy part of Flint. By the time we go to Sonic, everyone was too tired to enjoy it and at this point, need for sustenance outweighed the desire to be entertained. I digress. So, I can only talk about the food and the drive-thru service. Overall, it’s fast food, but it’s not horribly gross fast food. I got the chicken sandwich. The chicken tasted like real chicken and it had been marinated in some slightly odd red sauce. It was quite good though. The fries were also quite good, slimilar to Wendy’s fries, but a bit crunchier. My wife got the Jr. Burger and she said it was like Burger King. The two big surprises were the mountain-sized soda that came with my «medium» chicken sandwich combo and how small the medium shake was in comparison to my soda. In any case, I’ll need to go back and experience it for all of its glory. Stay tuned.
