Galaxy Nails & Spa

Galaxy always does a great job with my gel manicures, and with pedicures in the summer. They are very good about trying to accommodate walk-​ins, which I always do, so I rarely have to wait. I would highly recommend them!

I just moved to Flemington and have been trying to find a good nail salon. This is not the place. After waiting for almost 30 minutes, I had a terrible mani pedi. She hardly filed my nails or pushed/​cut my cuticles. When she did file my nails I had to ask her to fix 4 of them because they were uneven and chipped. I felt like the whole experience was rushed even though there was no one waiting. Needless to say, I won’t be returning.

I decided to take my mother here for pedicures as a treat for her birthday and chose this place being it was the only place I could find open on a Sunday. We typically go to Elite Nails in Whitehouse Station which is a delight (see my Unilocal review for further details if you’re curious) but they are closed Sundays.
First impressions when you walk in are not too promising. I think the set up is very awkward and everything is in such close quarters that it’s impossible to have a personal conversation.
The person who was taking care of my mother’s feet was a little rough in the beginning and she had to tell the woman to be more gentle. Unfortunately, she didn’t seem to understand until finally the person taking care of me explained to her my mom’s concern. I really can’t stand language barriers when getting services done (although it is much expected in this type of environment), but putting that aside, the overall quality of service was merely mediocre.
At one point the person taking care of my feet brought to my attention that my feet were really yellow on one side and that she never saw anything like it. Immediately, I was concerned but when I looked at the side of my foot, I didn’t notice any discoloration. It was very strange to say the least. My mother glanced over equally confused. Then you have all the women who are around getting their pedicures done overhearing this whole conversation and it was one of those, «Is this really happening right now?» kind of moments.
Not sure if I’d personally step foot in this place again (pardon the pun) but my mom seemed somewhat happy towards the end and at that point, that’s all that truly mattered! :)

I have been going to Galaxy nails for about 3 years and I have been very happy with the service. I usually just walk in and someone always has time for me within a few minutes. Nina is the manager and even though I go about once every 3 weeks or a month, she always knows me when I call and greets me by name.
Everyone there is good except there was one person I just didnt click with. When I let the manager know, she remembers and even if I walk in she will take over instead of having that particular person help me.
They also have instruments they take from a sterilizer package and when I was there last week besides all of the other things they do (lotion, a massage when done) they have this hand scrub they massage in your hands.
I like that they are open Sundays and would not consider going any place else.
