The Collision Shop

I am very pleased with the recent work done to my vehicle after an accident by The Collision Shop, Brownstown. As soon as I arrived at the shop with the van, Lawrence got on the phone with my insurance company to get an appraiser out. They sent one the next day and work started immediately. He also set me up with a rental car within half an hour. He kept me well informed during the process of the work and was courteous. I especially was grateful for the reduction in my deductible he gave me when all was done. I got my van back a few days ago and the work is beautiful. My nine year old van looks like new. He even fixed a large rust spot on he other side, which I hired them to do independent from the accident claim, for a very inexpensive amount. I was planning to trade the vehicle in soon, embarrassed at the looks, but now I have several more years to keep it! In the end, I would say Lawrence and his staff went out of their way to make this fix excellent for me, and I would recommend them to anyone. Btw this is the third vehicle I’ve taken to this shop, each was completed well above my satisfaction. Thanks Collision Shop!

Do not go to this shop!!! They had my car 9 weeks for a little body work. Worst body shop I have ever dealt

This shop is actually in Brownstown and not Flat Rock. The owner will tell you anything just to get your car and then you’re powerless over your own vehicle. He’s a con artist and power/​control freak that will screw you over if you complain about his compulsive lying.
The owner told me he would have my car fixed within one week when it was a three week job (of course, I don’t know how long it takes). He also went on and on about how the insurance company would want him to cut the metal on my car, which would cause my car to rust, and that he wouldn’t let them. After telling me this multiple times, I seen that he had cut the metal instead of replacing the entire piece as he said he would. I called after one week to check on my car and the owner yelled at me that he will take three weeks to finish my car if he wants to and that I’m powerless since he is dealing with my insurance company and I’m not involved (even though it’s MY car). I also think he has some sort of power and control complex over women (maybe it’s typical of anything automotive). After two weeks of telling him to stop working on my car and demanding a bill for work he already done, he continued to work on my car and refused to give me a bill. Finally, the Department of State (Secretary of State) told me that he wanted almost the entire amount of the estimate to release my car even though less than half of the work had been done. Somehow this type of fraudulent billing is legal.
I have no idea how he stays in business with the way he talks to/​treats customers. The owner threatened me with everything, including charging me warehouse fees, even though he refused to let me take me car somewhere else. Somehow, I lost complete control of my own vehicle and despite the multiple phone calls I had to make, I had to allow him to finish working on my car to avoid being ripped off by this con artist. He dares you to sue him… it’s ridiculous.
