I used to go here all the time with my grandma as a kid and had really good memories here. Went back last night with family and was so relieved to know nothing changed. Our waiter Mike was great, the bread was still amazing, and the service was very quick. We sat near the kitchen and it was great being able to see the chefs bustling at work. I recommend the Chicken Marsala –and of course — their awesome bread(may have eaten two loaves all by myself since the other party members can’t eat gluten).

Bad experience, will not be returning. Hostess spoke to us without looking up from what she was doing, one meal was cold. Management should have been to the table offering a solution prior to our check coming. Disappointing.

The waiter literally came to our table 5 times before he took the order. Once to write his name upside down, once to throw bread at us, once to see what we wanted to drink, once to deliver the drinks then he finally came back to take our order. By the end of the dinner he had thrown stuff like bread at us all night. Their wine list had more items to choose from than their actual food menu did. It took forever for the food to come out. The plates were hot because they had been left under the heat lamp for too long. The bread was greasy to the point of giving me a stomach ache and the chicken parmigiana was also greasy. My friend ordered the Mushroom Ravioli and the portion was so small that it was almost like an appetizer. Save your money and go to some other local area Italian restaurants that are good and worth the money.

Went here for my boyfriend’s birthday since he claimed it was his favorite restaurant. After hearing that, I may need to re-consider this relationship. It was a group of 4 of us and we all went out to have nice dinner. We ordered the the Crispy Fresh Mozzarella which wasn’t too bad. It was crispy. Wouldn’t say it was fresh. But it was mozzarella. My only thing is that there wasn’t enough flavor. Onto the main course, I ordered the Blackened Chicken Parmesan which was a blackened chicken breast, mozzarella, spinach, and a garlic olive oil cappellini. The chicken itself was pretty good, there was just a lack of mozzarella and spinach which I think could’ve helped added more flavor. The pasta was pretty dry too. I always make a pasta in olive oil sauce at home and honestly, mine tastes better. Here’s the thing that killed me: the cocktails. Ok, I love to drink, I’m a drinker. Drinking is fun and it makes me popular. I love all types of drinks SO of course I’m going to try a new one while I’m out. My friend and I decided to get the Limoncello Valoroso Martini. I love Limoncello when it’s done right. I honestly thought I was drinking straight-up cough medicine. My friend and I couldn’t finish it at all. And I was wondering if it was just my drink but my boyfriend said his Vodka Cranberry was wayyyy too strong. I tried it and he was right. It damn near put some hair back on my chest. For dessert, we all shared the Homemade Chocolate Cake. Ok, this was possibly one of the redeeming factors of this visit. It packed a lot of flavor and there was a significant amount of melted chocolate. But honestly, it couldn’t make up for the rest of the dinner. Next time, I’m taking my boyfriend for a better place for his birthday.

Visited this place on President day 2014. What a disappointment compared to our previous visits! Are they in the process of shutting down this location?

Picking up chicken Marsala and penne rustica to have for New Years Eve. Ordered from catering menu. Showed up and only individual meals were made. The manager Christian didn’t waste any time to get things straightened out. Great customer service and always great food.

What a disappointment. Before dining here with my family last night, I couldn’t say enough nice things about this restaurant. Our dinner experience included stale bread, bitter olive oil for dipping, stale croutons, a hair in my daughter’s salad, a cold entre and an ingredient omitted from my husband’s pasta. Our waiter kept apologizing and was fairly quick to rectify the problems(except for the bread which he claimed came straight from the oven). But having all of these experiences during one meal is enough to keep my family away from this place. Too many other choices.

Went there a couple of days ago and was very happy with the food but the server was even better. Her name was Lauren and she was very caring and concerned about our dining experience. She is a true asset to this business and I hope she goes far with this company. The place was clean and prepared for business. I will definitely go back there.

Horrible service. Do not know why these guys even show up to work. Our bottle of olive oil was virtually empty, the server poured what ever was in there and didn’t even bother to put a fresh bottle at the table. We had to ask for bread after our good came out because they still hadn’t brought it… What’s the point of oil on a dish with no bread? Disappointed to say the least.

Terrible… there was a wait line even though there were empty tables because the kitchen could not keep up with the orders. The tables that were seated, very few had their entrees. Two at our table had fish and they thought it was very good. Three others at our table had a form of pasta and it was SOBLAND. We had to have the waitress bring seconds of grated cheese to give the food some flavor. Don’t order macaroni at the macaroni grill!

I was very disappointed ! The shrimp and angle hair with mushrooms with lemon and butter was the meal. Half the plate was filled with melted butter. The waiter was very nice and offered a chicken parm to go as a nice gesture. Later I tasted it and found the chicken burnt and the angle hair had no sauce and was dry. I think they need a chef that could cook and takes pride in the food he cooks!

This place used to be much better but has really gone downhill lately. I got a simple fettuccine alfredo and it came out horrible. The sauce was bland and had a terrible texture. The waitress was extremely flustered and it was late on a Saturday night so not all that busy. The only good thing about this visit was the bread which is always delicious and the only reason I wanted to go here in the first place. I really won’t go back after the meal I just had. No bread is that good.

This place is overrated. While the service and ambience was ok, the food was terrible. The pastas were dry and bland. This is the second time in succession that I’ve had such an experience here and I do not intend to take another chance. Its Olive Garden for us the next time.

I’ve been coming to lunch here a couple times a month for the last 6 months or so. The Porcini mushroom ravioli at lunch is my favorite! I have not tried this restaurant in the evening. The lunch crowd is light. Nice atmosphere good service.

Ate there recently after not being there for a while. Food is very good, especially considering its a chain. I had the pork shank in Marsala sauce. Wow was it good! Absolutely fell off the bone! Veggies that accompanied were done perfectly. The place is a little noisy, but overly so. Good wine selection. Prices are competitive. Will definitely return.

Wow, Macaroni bar and grill changed menu/management and completely SUCKS! This restaurant is the closest to my parents house(allamuchy, nj) so naturally we frequent this spot. Mom and I stopped for a quick bite to eat the other night. We are by no means pastry chefs, but the bread(which is usually fantastic) was missing an ingredient and the texture suffered b/c of it. My pasta was OVERCOOKED *gasp* an Italian restaurant that over cooks pasta… NOBUENO! My wine was served in a dirty glass, they decreased portion size, our server was so inexperienced(lacking the server basic 101 skills) AND I had an upset stomach all night. Mac Bar… what happened? Seriously, I need to know! You would have one star if this was my first experience here. I know you can do better.

I’ve eaten here a few times since moving, with varied, but overall decent results. The night I had lasagna was a bit of a disappointment, but my other two meals were excellent, and no one I’ve ever been in with has had any complaints. Service is always good, and wait times have never been too bad. Atmosphere is nice.
