I’ve been a member here since the start of the New Year – yes, I’m one of those people. Resolutions! Parking is pretty tight, but you always find a spot. Despite it being busy, I’ve never had a problem getting the equipment I want no matter the time. A lot of the classes do fill up though, so if you plan on attending give yourself a 5 min cushion. I wouldn’t expect to stroll in late after the music has started and get a spot. Love the open courts for pick up bball and volleyball. I haven’t tried out the pool yet, but I’m looking forward to it. So many nice perks and add ons that make the Y worth the little extra per month compared to a franchise gym. They offer corporate and family discounts– be sure to check out your options!

Took a tour of the facility to see if I wanted to make this my new YMCA as I had moved recently. The«hot» tub is NOT hot. Barely lukewarm. ICK. That won’t kill any germs. GROSS. Found a MUCH better YMCA to join.

Great gym. It is huge. They even have a mini water park in the summer. Brought my 2 year old for swim lessons. Emily is a great instructor. I only gave it a 4 instead of a 5 because it’s a little older and some of the staff could be friendlier. Other than that I would recommend.

Awesome, supportive staff and great programming for the whole family. I’ve been using the BikeHub, Baxter and Jordan Y lately and have found them all top-knotch for folks of every fitness level. So approachable. :)

Spacious! That’s the first word that comes to mind. I absolutely love that this YMCA is located literally right down the road from my work. I’m all about conveniency… what can I say. I walked in and was greeted with a warm welcome — and all of my questions were answered on the spot.(Where’s the women’s locker room? Where can I find a treadmill? Where do all of the attractive men tend to gather?) You know, the usual. So I walk into the«Y For All» room where I found the treadmills and ellipticals… and the place was PACKED. I got on my elliptical around 5:15 and was lucky to do so… as many of the sign up sheets were being filled up. Heads up — be comfortable with working out in a large crowd. ha Just do your thing. The locker room was clean and had plenty of lockers to choose from, which is nice. I will definitely be going back!

Good luck finding a parking spot here… this place is so busy no matter what time I go! Which is GREAT! Nothing creepier than a huge empty gym to me. I really like the Fitlinxx system where a personal trainer builds a custom workout routine for you and all you have to do is type in your 5 digit member code and all the connected machines has your workout ready. I never remember what position my seat/back and what weight I have to lift. This system makes it super easy just go to one of the weight areas example chest press enter your 5 digit pin and it tells you how many reps and has your range of motion recorded too. Now what would make this 5 stars worthy is if the figured out how to integrate it with the other Indy Y’s! The staff is super friendly and helpful.

3.5–(begin singing village people song if you haven’t already) In an effort to bring sexy back(again), the wife and I signed up to join the Y a few weeks ago. They had a special no membership fee weekend, so we cashed in. From what I am told, this is the newest Y(read best) in the Indy area. The facility is pretty big. It’s got 3 pools, indoor and outdoor bball courts, a subway onsite, and of course weights and cardio galore. The coolest thing about the Y in my opinion is their weight machines. A Y trainer will sit down with you, create a workout with the machines, and you can track your progress electronically. It tells you what weight and spec you should be setting the machine, how much you’ve lifted, how many times you’ve lifted, etc… And it’s all included in the basic membership. They also have classes such as BOSU, spinning, Zumba, pilates, yoga, etc… I think the pilates and yoga might cost extra, but again, the rest is included in the membership. I’ve only balled there once, and they were playing«prison rules» so I’m going to have to leave my country club game at home. Overall– Compared to most workout places, the membership fee is pretty reasonable. Check it out, winter is just around the corner folks! Chuck Norris rating– Beard of Fury!
