Mexico City Grill

We went at 4:30pm on Friday. Obviously, service was great. BUT how in the heck can the Corona Light be warm. It’s not like a rare beer in a Mexican restaurant.

First time to this restaurant. My husband had the seafood salad, I had the chicken and avocado salad. We both really enjoyed our meals. The service was very fast, we were seated promptly and got our food very quickly. Definitely a quality dinner. Nothing but good things to say.

Went for dinner on a Saturday night. Hostess stood behind the desk and stared at me as I said dinner for 2. Instead of walking around the desk to greet and seat us she hollers ‘what?’ I had to approach the desk and say ‘dinner for two’. Ordered margarita and they tasted horrible! They were an odd color and so strong they were terrible!
Orders chiles relleno’s, rice and beans. The chiles relleno’s were floating in grease… tasted like grease, the worst I’ve ever had. The rice and beans were cold. Service was terrible. Had to go and get our waitress so we could get our ticket. Bad food, drink and service. Will not be going back.

Worst dining experience I’ve had in recent memory. The food was bland. Chicken burrito was shredded chicken with no spices or anything wrapped in a tortilla with some bland mole on top. The enchilada was the same, but with red enchilada sauce. The beans and rice had more spice and flavor. My dining compatriot’s steak burrito was the same with just plain fajita steak in a tortilla.
The service was even worse. Our waiter never checked on us after bringing the food. Never got a drink refill. We ordered cheese dip when our entrees arrived and we had an empty basket of chips. He brought cheese then immediately left without us ever getting any chips for the cheese! He messed up the bill and charged me for a drink I didn’t even get since I only had water. Nothing was done properly.
When we finally got the bill and left he was busy chatting with the lady at the front counter. Clearly chatting up women is far more important than taking care of customers. I guess this explains why the first two Mexican restaurants we tried to go to were packed and this one was empty prime time on Saturday.
Bad food and bad service. Nothing good about the visit.

The food was good. There was just one server for a very large group. Service was not good. Got my drink when I was done eating, and no napkins or refills. Didn’t bother to ask cause I knew it would take too long. There should have been more servers

The lunch menu is such a bargain. I got a «pizza,» which consisted of two large flour tortillas with steak and cheese sandwiched between, then topped with queso sauce and pico and guac. It was filling and tasty. My spouse’s chimichanga was large and came with rice and beans. The kid’s taco meal with beans and rice was very satisfying for my child, and it came with a free drink. There are also free chips and salsa at the table. The chips were thick cut and tasty. The salsa was good, but I’ve tasted better. But still, it’s a nice touch to get this item free. On Monday’s the kid’s meal is free with an adult meal purchase. We three ate for $ 19, which included the 15% tip. I’m glad I tried this place out. The décor is phenomenal. I loved looking at the walls and tables and chairs. Nice staff, too. Large parking lot. I will be back!

This place is awesome. The service is friendly and fast, the quality of all the food is great, the chips, salsa, guacamole, It was all incredible. I will most definitely be back soon!

Best Mexican food around. It’s hard not to go every night! We have ordered a couple common dishes that we have gotten at other restaurants and they had a whole new, fresh taste. It’s a must try if you haven’t been.

Clean and nice ambiance. Service was quick. Food was delicious — try the Especial de la Cocina and the Burrito del Campo with queso!

Wow, this place has really gone downhill! I don’t know if there is a change in management or what, but this restaurant is horrendous and I will never return. Service was the worst I’ve ever had in a restaurant. Our waitress would disappear for 20 minutes at a time. At one point I had to go to the hostess stand and request refills on our drinks because the waitress had been gone for so long! We also noticed similar complaints from other diners. The food quality has declined and I felt sick after eating it. They have changed the chips to an inedible form of disgustingness. The salsa is also served warm. Ewww, wonder how long it has been sitting out! I think the health dept needs to come in. Do not
Eat here!!!

The wife and I used to really enjoy this place. However, the last two times were pretty bad service. I ordered a chicken quesadilla to go via a call in order. Told 10 minutes. When I got there in 10 I waited another 16 minutes. While I did receive a free chips and queso for my wait it was still ugh. The following time I went w my wife and son. My waitress never once smiled, checked on us, and I had to track another done to get a check. Will be hitting up Maria’s in downtown noblesville now.

Came to this place at 2 pm to have late lunch and used a groupon promotion.
The food was plenty and delicious. However, it is quite true with what other Unilocalers say about their service. It’s bad in a way that the service is really slow. It’s a long wait to get seated and then another long wait to get drinks aannnnddd another long wait for them to come back to take your order etc.
It’s a long wait everytime you need something and we were there at 2 pm which wasn’t a busy time at all. There were very few customers so I could Not justify the long wait.
The ambiance however was nice and the place seemed clean.
I would recommend trying out this place using their groupon since it’s a good value and they have delicious food with big servings but make sure to expect to be there for a while. Grab a margarita or something and then just chill:)

We have been coming here for years and while the service has always been sub par, the food was usually pretty good.
Lately though it seems things have been in a downward spiral for this place.
Last night our avocados were served with brown rotten parts, see photo. And there were tables filled with dirty dishes and food that hadn’t been cleared the whole time we were there, six tables we counted in all that sat dirty for about an hour and were still uncleared when we left.
The service is just awful now, it seems like there may have been some sort of owner transfer or something b cause it’s not the same as lace it was a year ago.
Very disappointed with the food. The service and the cleanliness most of all.

We live nearby, and have started coming here for several reasons — It’s close, the 28oz house margarita is usually on special, and the food is good and similarly priced to other Mexican places we’ve frequented over the years.
The décor is bright and colorful — you really can’t help but be happy when you walk in – and there are several TV screens scattered throughout the dining rooms so it’s even a good place to hang out if there’s an important game on.
We’ve tried several menu items, and they’re all good and plentiful. My husband even had to bring home half of his Especial De La Cocina (three meats and mushrooms over rice with cheese sauce) this time because it was huge. I love their chimichangas, and there are several different styles to choose from. I prefer the Cactus version. I’ve learned to ask for them extra-​crisp, and the next time I’m going to ask for the sauce on the side so the chimi stays crunchy throughout my meal. I’ve also tried several of their enchiladas and tostadas, and their nachos, and my husband likes their shrimp dishes. All have been very good.
We had a better-​than-​usual experience here last night, so I figure it’s time to write a review. What made the difference this time was not the food, but our server, Pablo,
From the minute he greeted us he was warm, engaging, and attentive — and fun! Although I still give the restaurant four stars, I definitely give him five. He made it more than a meal — It was like we were at a friend’s house for dinner, and he wanted to make sure everything was perfect.
We don’t usually get dessert, but he sold us on the Fried Ice Cream, and it was DELICIOUS! We split a serving and there was plenty for both of us. We rolled out of there very happy, and looking forward to coming back again soon and asking for Pablo to serve us.

Everyone in Fishers circles talks about how this is a staple but I don’t see it. It’s your run of the mill mom and pops Mexican food joint. The highlight of the meal were the chips… I’m an absolute mark for super crunchy tortilla chips.
My enchiladas were heavy, bland and pretty forgettable. For $ 30+ for a couple, you shouldn’t feel like you would have had better value at Taco Bell but that is exactly how we felt. They do get the third star for the service. In fact, that probably accounts for one and a half.

We have been here a couple of times and have no complaints. Decent, quick service, good food and average prices. The entrees are large and filling. The salsa is good but could be a bit spicier for me. Their queso dip a yummy. We have had several items but our favorites are the Carne Asada burrito and the Chile Colorado burrito. With all of the Mexican joints in the surrounding area, this is one of our favorites.

I sat in the bar and Andiana was my server.
She was extremely sweet.
Had the Avocado Chicken Salad.
The salad was so delicious. Very fresh.
The chicken was tender.
The owner Americo came by and was very friendly too

Seafood Burrito pretty tasty, kind of bland! Very festive place. Jeff ordered a Monterey Chimichanga looks yummy! Service is good but not that busy. Probably will not get the Seafood Burrito again, it really needs veggies added to set off the flavor. As stated before its a little bland

I’ve been most excited about checking out all the sweet local hotspots up here in Fishers, and after working up here for a few months, I can say: Mexico City Grill is my número uno lunch stop thus far. While I love the other options around, you just can’t beat the speedy, friendly, and cleanliness of this little gem de Mexico.
Now, it takes a lot for me to branch out very far past my arroz con pollo, but behold: I went for a chimichanga at my lovely waiters request and bazinga! boom baby! I LOOOVE it!
Our waiter really seals the deal here: he had recommendations for every person at the table and was friendly and patient while we sifted through work gab and menu selections. The food is delicious, but the atmosphere is right up there as well, give it a go next time you’re up here on the north end!

The Indy area has SO many Mexican restaurants, it’s hard to find one that stands out above the others… they’re all rather cookie cutter, at least in my estimation.
Mexico City Grill, I believe, is a cut above. The food just tastes fresher, and it seems there is more of it than at other restaurants of the type. They kept our chips, salsa, and drinks refilled, and they didn’t seem to be in a hurry to rush out out, even when we lingered a bit, visiting with friends we don;t get to see nearly often enough.
We did have one issue with our service. There were 6 in our party. 5 meals were brought out, and my wife’s wasn’t one of them. We waited… and waited… and FINALLY her meal arrived. I had to knock a star off for that.
Other than that, a stellar experience!
