Yes, I was the girl crying because I was stressed out about not knowing a thing about car repairs. Definitely recommend!

My car had a shrieking sound coming from my front tire, I thought I needed new brake pads. my car has some miles on it. I came to Carx, fully expecting to have shell out a few hundred dollars. Turns out a piece of asphalt had wedged itself into my braking system. No charge, my car is fine, doesn’t need new pads, no out of pocket expense.
When I arrive, a customer was picking up her cat and was dropping off some homemade cookies… now I know why. I’ll be back when I do need my pads replaced.

I can’t even give this location a star rating for their service, because I was refused service.
I walked into this CarX location at 5:35 this evening after work. I told the man behind the counter that I was there for an oil change. He let me know that they were closing in 20 minutes and stopped accepting oil changes at 5:15. This is extremely frustrating for someone who works until 5 pm. I got to the location as quickly as I could in rush hour and was flat out turned away, without as much as an apology. I feel that if a location is open until 6 pm, they should accept service until then. There weren’t any cars in the garage, so I know that there was no line — to be honest, I am not sure WHAT they were doing that made them incapable to complete an oil change. I completely wasted my time after work to show up there, expecting to get my car’s oil changed. I came to CarX because I used them previously, and had a coupon. There is a Valvoline right up the road that is open until 7. From now on, they’ll be getting my service. I’m willing to pay extra for the oil change if it means I will at least get service when they’re open for business!

I’ve been so impressed in my dealings with this Car-​X location. My dad has gone here for years, and they’re the only place my husband and I completely trust. As many other reviewers have pointed out, these guys don’t try to convince you something is wrong with your car when it isn’t.
I had my car in for an oil change the other day so I asked them about a problem it had been having lately. They were very willing to look into it even though it was almost the end of the day. Then Tommy came out, told me what the problem could be, and gave me a very simple suggestion (and one that didn’t cost me a cent). Definitely not your stereotypical car place!
We’re glad to have a local mechanic we can trust our cars to!

This is my second time using them for service. Thymes are fast, courteous and intelligent. When they said the car would be done, they were done within that timeframe. The price is reasonable and of course much cheaper than the dealer price.
The waiting area is meager but comfortable to work while I waited. I’m gonna come back here if additional work is needed on any of my cars.

I took my car here when it overheated — they were unable to fix the problem as it was an engine issue and required work at the dealership. However, they were very helpful in finding me a tow truck, and they did not charge me for the inspection they had done on my car! I was extremely impressed with their service and business practices, and will be a returning customer.

I am extremely loyal to this business. I have been bringing both of my vehicles here for about four years for oil changes, tires, and other repair. Twice I have come here thinking there was a problem with my car, and after they looked at it I was told there was nothing wrong. No charge! How often does that happen at a car business?

Put the wrong oil in my car even though it’s plainly marked 5w20.

Pro. Great deal on engine oil change via coupons. Sticks by their repair and will «re-​do» repair for free while under warranty. Convenient place to delegate simple car maintenance stuff.
Con. Not a trustworthy place to do a brake job or other over $ 100 car repair. Reason: uses sub-​par parts that must be replaced soon after 30 day or 3 month warranty expires. I spent over $ 1,200 on brake jobs that I later had to «fix» myself with $ 200 premium parts (via DIY) because the job wasn’t done right or used crappy parts. Long story short, but when I learned about DIY and actually looked at the job and parts used for brake work, I was very disappointed. Furthermore, they pointed out that I must replace a radiator because it was leaking… Well, I took it to a dealer for second opinion and they said it was fine and it’s still not leaking at all for the past 3 years since when I was told by Car x that it was leaking bad.
Bottom line: Get a second opinion if your gut tells you something doesn’t seem right.

I have been a loyal customer of Car-​X for the past 6 months. I am a recent resident of Indy and wanted to find a place for the usual oil change, check-​ups, etc. for my beloved car. What kept me going there was their kindness (though it may have been fake looking back) and great deals for oil changes.
But recent events have changed me feelings. The other day I took my car in for an oil change and when completed, they notified me that there were other things that needed to be taken care of asap. I was told that all of my brakes and rotors would need replaced and that it would cost me a whopping $ 544. Really? REALLY?! Yeah, no. I’m thinking I was the girl that they were going to take advantage of that day. Obviously I’m not inspecting the underpart of my car every day, so how was I supposed to know if my brakes and rotors actually needed replaced?
I do the next thing any daughter does that isn’t a pro with cars. I call my dad. He sets up an appointment with a car place in our hometown. The owner is someone we have known for awhile, so we trusted his verdict — which was that there was absolutely nothing wrong with my brakes and rotors. In fact, I have an estimated 20,000 miles left on my back brakes and 40,000 on the front. Car X, you were trying to scam me. Not appreciated.

I have been bring my vehicles to this Car-​X location for a few years now. They have always done me right. The Owner /​Manager of this location has a great attitude and honest in his work.
I can even send my wife and sister-​in-​law to them and not worry about the typical «Women don know anything about cars» attitude.

It’s not often you bring your car to a place, tell them you think something is wrong with your car, and they tell you it’s absolutely fine. Well that was my experience with my new favorite car service place in the Indy area.
I can’t tell you how much it pisses me off when mechanics try and take me for a ride. Most recently my wife went to Pep Boys, and they tried to tell her she needed work done on a part she just got replaced. Swearing this place off forever (even though it is right across the street), we decided to check out Car-​X. And I’m sure glad we did.
I’ll grant you, I was just coming in to get my oil changed, but when the manager asked me if I needed anything else done, I asked if he’d look at my brakes. He told me he was more than happy to. I pretty much expected him to tell me I’d need a couple hundred dollars worth of work on something or another, but he said my car was top notch. On top of that, he was super friendly, and very courteous.
If ever something should go wrong with my car, I feel confident I could take it here and get an honest diagnosis. With repeat visits, I’m sure this place could be a 5-​star!

Car-​X in Fishers is my favorite place to get my oil changed. The employees are always courteous and they have never tried to convince me that I need a bunch of unnecessary services. I’ve had some bad experiences at other places that try to scare me into adding on costly services to make more money, only to find out later that they blatantly lied to my face. I have never felt like the Fishers Car-​X has ever tried to screw me over like that.
I started taking my car into the Car-​X because they have a coupon at
for a $ 16.95 oil change. Sounds too good to be true, but it’s not. Plus they are nice, do a great job under my hood (wink wink), and are fast! I’ve never made an appointment, and I suggest calling ahead to find out how long the wait is – these guys get pretty busy during the lunch hour!
I don’t know if all Car-​X branches offer this great of service, and since they are independently-​owned franchises, I think this one is worth note!
