I like the selection. I just wish the staff were a lttle more plant knowledgeable or I just must be asking the wrong person each time. Not as high priced as Altum’s on North Michigan Rd. Much friendlier here too.

What a great selection of trees, flowers, decorations, etc. to choose from to beautify your yard! Waaaay more options than your average «box store» (ex: Lowe’s). The associates were very helpful and knowledgeable. While we walked away with only a couple of unique but lovely flower pieces, we may be back for a tree or two once we make a decision on which kind we’d like (fruit or not). If we decide to go with a fruit tree, we’ll have find another place as Allisonville Nursery doesn’t sell fruit trees; however, if we opt for something other than a fruit tree, they will be where I go.

I was less than impressed with the customer service. The staff acts like they are too busy to help you. I picked out a nice tree to purchase and the young man at the checkout asked me if I brought the tag from the tree with me. I said that I didn’t realize I was supposed to do that. He said.“well how would I know what tree you want?”. Thanks anyway… you can keep your tree. I find one elsewhere.

If you are looking for flowers this is the place. However do NOT expect anything more. The customer service is horrible. All the people that were working walked past me for 20 minutes as I was standing there waiting to be helped. When I finally got an employee to talk to me she was on her lunch and couldn’t find me someone else to help me. And you could probably get the same flowers at any other nursery or garden center.

My neighborhood garden store. Not exactly inexpensive (I got to lowes or Home Depot for usual plants), but when you want something nice, this is a great place to go. Helpful staff, great selection of statues, fountains, trees, shrubs and houseplants. During the season, I’m here browsing every week, wishing I had a bigger yard and wallet.
They have nice quality tools, a great line of premium grass seeds, and a great line of soils called «garden magic» (I usually get the peat humus, dark and rich, not like other bagged soils that aren’t anything more than dirt, with no nutrients – and it’s only like $ 3.49)
And they welcome everyone, even better!

I have been coming to Allisonville Nursery for many years now and continue to be impressed. I have never purchased trees here but have purchased a wide variety of shrubs (boxwoods, hostas, ninebark, several viburnum varieties, etc.) and all are going very strong in my yard.
I’ve always been impressed with the quality of the plants here… although my father used to own a landscape business (and purchase wholesale) and I have a pretty good feel for prices. I think some of it is a tad expensive. Not too concerned though… I don’t mind supporting local business and the store is just really cool. None of the green peppers I purchased from here last year bore any fruit (similar plant from Home Depot same spot did fine), so that has been my only issue.
As others mentioned, there are a large selection of garden accents, pots, fertilizers, etc. It really is a very comprehensive selection of products… and there are many items you won’t find at a big box.
The staff is extremely helpful… today I was looking for a pedestal for a sundial and the staff went out of their way to assist me in what I was looking for. I ended up leaving with a birdbath and Patty (?) spent a good amount of time helping… thank you! It just is the sort of place for people who love gardening and the outdoors… impulse buying is very easy here.
Note of caution… in the spring on a weekend this place can get extremely crowded. Getting assistance is definitely more an issue just due to volume. If you need help swing by during the week… they will take care of you.

Yes, I am a fan and the 70 mile one way trip is completely worth it. Staff is knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Well, except the 20 – 30’ish girl who worked on the last day of 75% off Christmas décor. The holidays must be difficult for her. It is amazing how one rude employee sets the tone. Luckily she is the exception, not the rule.
Allisonville Nursery has plants and so much more. There is even a resident store cat. Even if you’re not in the market for landscaping or bedding plants stop in to browse — candles, trays, gourmet food, fountains — wonderful quality and reasonable prices.

Cute store. lots of fairy garden accessories and Christmas décor the time we visited. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Christmas décor was not what we are looking for and was disappointed at the selection. it was very merry, classic yet too formal. We were looking for bright, cheery with bright color splash décor. They did have few glass bright colored ornament.

You’ll feel like family at Allisonville Nursery. Everyone is so helpful and can answer any gardening questions you have. I found out that everything in the place that isn’t nailed down is for sale. There’s a cool display table you like? Look a little harder — it can be yours — for a price. The only exception is the gorgeous copper tiered plant stand. That bad boy isn’t going anywhere.

Had a great time here shopping around for a weeping pink cherry tree. There is always someone about to offer you aid or answer questions. The fellow who helped us gave us plenty of his time to make sure we picked the right tree and made me feel more confident in planting it. I am not a green thumb and do not often shop for trees so the prices seem high (way higher than the big home improvement stores, for example) The specimens, however, were far heartier and more lovely. A great selection is to be had, as well.

This is by far my favorite nursery around the NE area of Indy. The staff is knowledgeable and very helpful. Not only do they carry the plants I like for my garden, but the shoppe itself provides decorating ideas, unique home décor, and gifts for everyone (even children’s books!). No better place to kill a couple hours on a beautiful day.

This is my favorite place to buy house plants as well as outdoor plants. They have very knowledgeable and friendly staff as well. I also really love the gift store that has everything from all kinds of garden supplies to candles, lotions, indoor and outdoor home décor. Its hard for me to not find something that I do not like in this store and nursery. Great for buying gifts for others.

Great for gifts and awesome place to find unique treats for grandmas and mothers and sisters alike. And, of course, ANYONE with a green thumb! Beautiful plants, trees, flowers and much much more!
I have only been here a handful of times, and two of them were for bridal shows, but I can honestly say, it’s one of my fave place to pick up a quick gift. They have fun things in all different price ranges. It’s well organized with beautiful displays and the staff is polite, knowledgeable and helpful.
I definitely recommend it in the spring and summer but their winter/​Christmas displays, ornaments, trees, etc. are NOT to be missed! It’s VERY festive!
