Specialties

Amazing Times, LLC is based in Longmont, Colorado. Our historical summer camps are held in local public parks. The camps are for students 7 years old and up. Students get immersed in a specific time period to learn history and mythology based on the Core Knowledge sequence, a nationally established school curriculum.

Amazing Times teaches history and mythology in an exciting hands-​on environment. First, students create a historical character. Then they support their character by making authentic arts and crafts using real tools. Once fully in character, students are taught how to battle game: types of foam weapons, the importance of safety gear and rules for compassionate combat. Finally, students travel throughout the imagined world to engage in games of exploration and conquest.

Meet the Business Owner

Jason Z.

Business Owner

I taught third grade for five years at Flagstaff Academy in Longmont, Colorado. I currently hold the position of Enrichment Director at Flagstaff.

I was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. After high school, I served four years in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged. I received my B.A. in English with a focus in creative writing and a minor in history from Colorado State University. I also have a Master of Elementary Education from Grand Canyon University. I am a licensed teacher in the state of Colorado. I received the Teacher of the Year Award at Flagstaff Academy as granted by the St. Vrain Valley School District in 2010.

I love learning. I love cycling, basketball, soccer and golf. I love teaching. I love making stuff. Almost all things geeky I love: television, fantasy, comic books, video games, historical movies, sci-​fi, toys and games. I am married to the beautiful Sarah Vaughan Zook and we have a cool son.
