History

Established in 1975.

After many years of experience with local landscape companies, Roger Powell decided he could do better. In 1975, Whole Earth Greenery was established. After over 30 successful years, the reputable landscaping portion of the business was sold, leaving Roger to design and operate the large nursery. The current name, Powell Nursery & Landscape Design, was adopted in 2008. After severing ties with the purchaser in 2009, Powell Nursery & Landscape Design is operating as a successful, professional landscaping company and fine quality nursery. Having an excellent reputation in the Hancock County area for experience, great service, creativity, quality trees and shrubs as well as unusual plants, makes Powell Nursery & Landscape Design the best choice.

Business Owner

I have been in the landscaping/​nursery business since I was 14. After working locally for the two biggest names in this area, I studied at Ohio State and Bowling Green and continue researching and reading up-​to-​date information. Each employee is hired and trained by me. I take pride in our work, checking each project before, during, and after completion. I design with low maintenance and growing patterns in mind to keep your landscaping looking as good years later as it did when installed. Each tree/​shrub is hand chosen for your landscaping from quality nurseries in our growing zone. Being an artist allows me to express this in my designing. It’s rewarding to see trees planted 30 – 40 years ago and how majestic they are now. Our seasonal hours in the nursery, allow me to offer knowledgeable, personal attention while keeping costs low.

Some people know me best from doing the Easter sand sculpture here in Findlay during the past decade.
