D&B Nails

I wish Unilocal could offer a zero star option just for this place.
My pedicure/​toenail polish lasted all of two hours. I was wearing flip flops, let my toes dry… all the right things. It also took about two hours to complete because my pedicurist kept jumping up every 10 minutes to care for someone else. He was having a loud awkward conversation with a friend of his that came in to visit. I don’t like to make snap judgements but she came in the salon with filthy pajama pants and proceeded to eat while sitting at a nail station. Aside from the general unpleasantness, the worst was the practice and cleanliness. My pedicurist was not at all hygienic, I got the most awful gut feeling and honestly I nearly told him to stop working so I could leave about 5 times. I’m so angry at myself for not speaking up at the time. I wasted my time, money and I spent days checking my toes for cuts, scrapes and every itch made me nervous.
I would suggest driving/​paying/​parking anywhere — literally anywhere else — to avoid going to this place.
I’m editing to add: I did report this place to the board of cosmetology.

Not a fan at all. I called but no one answered so I dropped in. Once seated, I was bombarded with questions about how my manicurist should handle a personal issue. In the middle of my acrylic set, the manicurist spent several minutes with his back turned, on a personal Facebook PM argument, while I was ignored (no, this was not during a drying session). The personal drama questions persisted after. As a therapist, I feel I should send them a bill for the 45 minute therapy session!
Needless to say, my service experience was terrible. My fiancé was disappointed with the thick and clunky nails. I’ve had acrylics done before that were much better. I’ll be continuing my search for a more professional and service-​forward establishment in the area.

I’m so sad to have to update my review for this shop. I used to LOVE going there — the husband and wife team that owned the shop were thorough and kind. This was NOT the experience I had last Friday, when I went in for a mani/​pedi. There was an entirely new staff working at the shop now. When I asked the technician what happened, she said that they had new owners. They had more employees working, but while this meant we didn’t have to wait as long, this did nothing to improve the quality of the services we received.
When I sat down to get my pedi, the water was scalding hot. I asked her to adjust the temperature; she ran a tiny bit of cold water, but it was still too hot. I asked her to adjust it again, and nothing was done (not sure if she didn’t hear me, or was ignoring me; either way, not good). She then proceeded to scrape my leg more than once with the cheese grater thing they use for the feet. I told her she was hurting me and asked her to be more gentle. She laughed. I’m not sure if she didn’t understand me or was just a jerk, but either way, it sucked. To top it off, she took a chunk out of my thumb when she was trimming my nail. She apologized — but quite frankly, it was the worst experience I’ve had in forever. The only reason I gave them two stars instead of one is because my mani/​pedi looks good. I won’t be back.

Would give no stars – but can’t! Never been treated so badly! Will never come back! Miss the previous owners (the husband & wife team). The guy with the pony tail, bad teeth & breath – run from!

I received a nail shellac job and eyebrow waxing on a Saturday.
Several nails peeled almost completely off within 24 hours of my visit.
I returned to the salon on Sunday. The hours on the door state that they’re open 12 – 5 on Sundays. However, I left and returned again 45 mins later to find the salon still closed.
I left them a note stating that I couldn’t go to work (professional attire/​office) the next day with my nails in that condition, basically pleading with them to call me as soon as possible to repair the problem. I could’ve actually been reprimanded for inappropriate appearance.
The salon never called. Which means they don’t care.
My brow wax was painless. The weird fingertip massage afterward was awkward and painful. It felt like she was trying to make a hole in my skull with her thumbs. I had a minor red blotch on my forehead for the rest of the evening.
If you’re looking for integrity, great service or longevity, this ain’t the salon for you.

Stopped here yesterday on a whim. Was advised (by a 12 year old) they take walk-​ins, so I waited. The young boy who was helping should have been a huge red flag, but I waited. After about 30ish minutes, a tech asked me what I was having done. Advised her just a manicure and I showed her a picture of what I was looking for. Basically it was a french manicure, but with orange and blue. She looked at my nails and said no problem, it would just be a few more minutes to wait.
Then, another nail tech came by, asked me the same questions. I showed him my picture and he said they couldn’t do that! What?! Will not be giving them a second chance!

I have been to D&B Nails a few times now. The price is great and the people are very nice but I have noticed that the quality is mediocre. I just went last night to get my acrylic nails filled and they look terrible. They are just clear acrylic with white tips and there is a VERY definite line where the new acrylic meets the old. I am very upset by this and that they would let me walk out looking like that! I have engagement pictures and am just hoping that the line doesn’t show up in them!

I have tried to stop here about 4 times over the last few months and it is always closed even though posted hours say it should be open. They did a fantastic job waxing my eyebrows, the prices were on point, and the pedicure massage was nice. But they did cut my toe and my shellac on my manicure stuck and sealed my nail to my skin. I won’t be stopping in anymore since they are sporadically closed but if they had not been I would’ve continued coming only to get my eyebrows done.

Loved the experience! Base coat, two coats polish, top coat! Great massage! Really enjoyed the mani/​pedi!

Quiet and unassuming it doesn’t promise anything it can’t deliver. I had a basic pedi for $ 22 and Tim spent a good amt of time cutting, trimming and pumicing my heels. Large selection of polishes both regular and gel. Has the usual shellac odor but not overwhelming and I have asthma.
Instruments are disposable packs opened in front if you as you soak so I’m quite pleased. Will return and definitely recommend.

A-​ok! Not meant to be a spa/​salon experience. This is for the quick and dirty pedicure in between errands. Except that it’s quick and not dirty. I repeat, not dirty. The guy I had took the nail trimmer out of one of those sealed packages, and the shop itself, while not fancy or sparkling, was a pretty standard nail place that you would find in a Los Angeles strip mall. Massage chairs, of course, are always nice to have, though it’s irksome to be reminded that you are short when the shoulder massage starts on your head.
He did a base coat, 2 coats of nail polish, and a top coat in just a few minutes. There was some minimal scrubbing and no use of a vegetable peeler, even though my heels probably could have used a little more. Anyway, it appears you can get a longer experience with hot stones etc. for $ 25 rather than the $ 22, and there may even be another option for more pampering, but I didn’t ask about it (just saw something on the menu of services). Pretty basic stuff, but reasonably well done and at a decent price compared with other places around here.

Went here looking for some place new to try and I was very unimpressed. The girl who did my pedi spoke zero English so she had not idea what I was telling her. I do not like to be cheese grated on my heels it feels weir and thats exactly what she did. I asked her not to numerous time and she continued to do so. The only saving grace here is the chairs.

Today was the only time I visited. And I wouldn’t advise this place. I called twice and asked about pricing and got a good deal, but then when it came time to pay, the price went up. And then they made me bleed by digging too deep in the cuticle. And then rubbed more polish over it. Which is unsanitary! So nope. Not going back!

Fast friendly reliable this is my go to nail salon the husband and wife are super nice :)

I was happy with my pedicure. I went during the day on a Tuesday so it wasn’t too busy. Coming from someone in the cosmetology field I’m a stickler for cleanliness and the proper procedures of doing things when you are assisting the public. I am happy to report this place is clean. I will be going back. For $ 22 a pedicure you really can’t beat it.

I went to D & B Nails for the first time yesterday and I had a wonderful experience. Anna did a traditional manicure for me and she was terrific. The salon was clean, everyone was friendly and the work Anna did was great. That was one of the best hand massages I have received. This is a full service salon and the price is amazing, I paid $ 12 for my manicure. I deluxe pedicure with a manicure is only $ 35! I am going back.

Meh. Walked in on a Saturday… They were not busy, had only 2 people working. Great massage chair, mediocre pedicure. One coat of colored polish, and didn’t get the tips of the nails on a few of my toes. But… My feet are happy to have had a pedicure, and $ 22 is a good price…

Just went yesterday for the first time. Had a pedicure. The massage chair was nice, staff was friendly, however the guy who worked on me filed the skin too much on one part if my foot and I now have a raw, sore wound. Not sure if I will give them another shot.
