Seaside Amelia Inn

Great little hotel with a wonderful staff. First floor suite was pet friendly, and we had plenty of room for 2 adults and 2 dogs.
Made to order breakfasts were very good; plenty of seating room for breakfast too. Breakfast cook was really nice and helpful. I don’t think anyone went away hungry!
Both inside and outside there are nice seating areas just to relax. Everything is clean and well tended, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooftop deck has beautiful views; we brought our drinks up and enjoyed the ocean view.
Loved the beach access, and the hotel provides beach chairs and umbrellas at no cost. Also a nice little beach restaurant/​bar right next door – seafood is great.
This area is relatively peaceful for a beach location; no other restaurants are within walking distance. If you are looking for action – this is not your place. But if you want peace and relaxation, book a suite and enjoy this great hotel.

We checked in planning to stay 4 nights and I barely made it through 1 night. The website pictures are vastly different from reality. The pool is located between 3 buildings so there’s no way sun can get through but it wouldn’t matter if there WERE sun because the paved area around the pool is not large enough for a typical poolside chair. The paint is peeling off the pool and the entire building looks like it hasn’t had a dime spent on it in 30 years. The rooms are smaller than anywhere I’ve ever stayed and furnishings are pathetic. I burst into tears when I saw the place, room, and pool. The people at the front desk are very kind and helpful; they tried to help me find another place to stay and even called around to check availability.

This hotel is quite lovely & has a lot to offer anyone who is a beachgoer & vacations in Amelia Island. The staff is very friendly & gracious & the view from the ocean view room truly is beautiful. The only drawbacks I found were that for me personally, the bed, although comfortable, is just a bit too soft for me since I like a firm bed. Also, there is no HBO, which for most people is not a big deal since you really don’t go to the beach to watch HBO, BUT on the night of the season première of Game of Thrones I was not happy; thankfully the wifi is quick & I brought my laptop so we got to watch it! The hotel room & the hotel are pristinely clean. The gentleman who cooks made-​to-​order eggs & bacon is so friendly & pleasant & the complimentary breakfast is great! They serve eggs, bacon, pancakes, grits, biscuits & gravy, yogurt, granola, cereals, fruit, a variety of breads & pastries, coffee & teas. There is a rooftop deck you can sit & enjoy the serene view of the ocean. Another great thing about the hotel’s location is that there is a bar & grill right in front of the hotel on the beach where they serve great food & drinks at fabulous prices.

I stayed here 12/​31/​2015 to ring in the New Year 01/​02/​2016. My room was a shoe Box and house keeping was horrible. My room wasn’t cleaned and the only thing maid service did was throw new towels in my bathroom. The fan fixture in my room didn’t work and the maintenance man did fix it on the second night of our stay. The only real enjoyable event at this hotel was the made to order breakfast in the mornings. I won’t be going back here anytime soon and now now when booking a room to check the size of the room.

Seaside is a hidden little treasure on Amelia Island that I would love to return to! We were staying in Jacksonville, an hour away, and had a Christmas dinner party to go to at the Ritz Carlton, ten minutes away, and found this hotel online! We’re so glad we did! Because the price was SO reasonable we were worried about what the hotel would look like, but we were pleasantly surprised!
The staff is literally the most friendly hotel staff I’ve experienced. The Ritz staff is nice but you can tell its forced because they have to– not how it is with Seaside staff. They were naturally friendly– from the room cleansing lady who let us into our room when we got locked out, to a maintenance guy, the front counter lady & even the gentleman who made us complimentary breakfast with a huge smile!
The rooms were huge for the price we paid– with a living room, couch, chairs, closet, bed, fridge & large bathroom. We had a gorgeous view of the ocean– literally 2 minutes from the beach. & the location was 10 minutes from the historic town with shops & a cute trolley!
We loved our stay but the Seaside Amelia Inn made it 10 times better! Will definitely be back!

We had a beautiful trip. We stayed in an ocean view suite. It has a lovely view and the room was very nice. The location is the best in town. You are minutes from downtown and next to a wonderful public beach. There are special events at the main beach park next door and there are children’s activities and beachfront dining at a restaurant next door. If they added a hotel bar it would be a plus. They have a pool and a rooftop patio. They serve hot breakfast cooked to order included with your room rate. The staff were all friendly. I wish our room had a king bed, but it wasn’t a necessity because the accommodation was fitting for our needs. There was a roomy mini fridge that held all 52 canned drinks I brought plus a few groceries and later a left over pizza box. There is a microwave and coffee maker. The room was a little small, but despite other reviews I thought it was plenty of room. There was a 24 hour convenience store in walking distance. We stayed 7 nights and were provided excellent service and value.

This hotel had kind of a weird setup. This is not really beachfront. The ocean view really overlooks the city park and a semi-​lame seafood restaurant. The parking is very tight. The parking is under the building but you can’t get to the beach from the garage even though there’s a gate. The gate is reserved for tenants of the adjacent building who share the same pool. The balconies are small and not really big enough for two people. You could touch the face of someone on an adjacent balcony.
That being said, the service was excellent, particularly Pete, who makes the breakfast. The lobby and rooms were very clean and comfortable. There is a breakfast, which is good because you would otherwise have to drive to get breakfast somewhere else. They have beach chairs and an unlimited supply of beach towels.
It is nice that it is on the main drag into town.
The rooms were small. If it was just two adults that would be fine. Two adults and two kids was tight so we didn’t spend much time in the rooms.
There was no where to hang wet, sandy clothes and no washers or dryers.

It looks like they finally undated the coupon after I wrote about it –it is near up – we have some kids coming to visit us this Summer. it will be great for them. We will not have to listen to them coming in — LATE.
With WiFi and breakfast I give it 4 starts.

After breakfast nearby we called the hotel to see if we could check in a little early. Our room was ready so we headed there to check in before continuing our day. It was so cute! The entire place had been redone from top to bottom. For just $ 69 we got a room that included free wi-​fi and a full cooked to order breakfast in the morning. We got our key and headed up to our room. As we opened the door we both started laughing… and kept on laughing. It was one of the smallest rooms we had EVER seen. Like ever. But even with its small size it was everything you could need in a beachside room — a kitchenette, flat screen tv, view of the pool, and a very spacious bathroom. We’d definitely stay there again, just in a bigger room.

Excellent. Rooms a little small but very nicely done. Breakfast was very good. We were there off season so it was very quiet, and that allowed me a great nights sleep. Beautiful setting right on the beach. I’ll bet this place is awesome in the summer.

Stayed here with my husband for our anniversary, would definitely come back with our children and alone as well! Rooms were very clean as well as hotel!
Staff is so kind, welcoming and always making sure you have all you need! Breakfast included is a plus and chefs are awesome! Definitely recommend this hotel to all that want to relax and getaway and also enjoy beautiful beach views!!!

This is a great little hotel. It is one of the only hotels (non resort) directly on the beach. They just remodeled the place and I feel it was done very well. Our room was clean and humidity free. The bed was comfy as well. I slept well. Some have complained the rooms are small. Perhaps some are but we had an oceanview superior and I felt the room size was decent. We were only sleeping in the room so I did not worry about how big the room is.
Aside from the convinient location on the beach, the hotel also provides towels and beach chairs. There is also an outdoor pool for those seeking a cool down. The ocean is very warm during summer months.
On the roof is a viewing deck. The lounge inside the deck is very nice but I feel they could stand to spruce up the viewing deck a bit more.
There is an attached parking garage to the building which is shared with what appears to be timeshares. Everything is super tight so drive carefully.
The hotel is minutes away from the historic downtown. I wouldn’t suggest walking but a quick drive will have you at some of the best dining on the island and probably in the country.
Almost forgot, the complimentary breakfast is nice. There is a cook who will make eggs, pancakes, waffles, and bacon to order. Get there early as there will be a line.
All in all this a great hotel at a great price.

Seaside is a nice place to stay, very near the beach. The lobby and rooms are newer and very clean. Breakfast is a plus and the staff are very friendly. The rooms are small so be sure to get the suite. The ocean views are amazing. Do be aware that the pool is small and only 3’9″ deep. I will stay again.

. Just did a studio room for 1 night as we were just passing though town. When we arrived to check in they could not find our reservation. I was nervous at first but the front desk provided excellent customer service. They got us in the same type room I originally booked for $ 10 less.
Hotel was in very good shape. Appears to be well maintained and recently updated. Our room was small, but we knew that going in. It was well appointed, very clean and comfortable. I’m not sure I’d stay in a studio room for an extending stay but for a night or two, it’s fine. We had a balcony room on the street side. Only negative to that was, at night you could hear loud vehicles/​motorcycles passing along the roadway. It quieted down after 10pm-​ish however. I slept great, even with the occasional noise. Also a note, they have the under window air condition units, but unlike many others, this one operated at a reasonable sound level, so was not disturbing during the night as it kicked on/​off.
The reason I booked this hotel, and one of its best features, is that it’s is literally steps from the beach. It is in a great location. I would defiantly recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

Amazing prices. Spectacular views. Awesome fresh cooked breakfast for each guest!!! I got engaged here and will return for anniversaries to come!!! The staff is super helpful and extremely pleasant!!!

My family just completely adores the small quaint feel of the seaside inn, but then again we are small business owners who might get to go to Florida once every other year. We don’t stay anywhere but the Seaside Amelia Inn. We didn’t use the WiFi because, who doesn’t have a smartphone now-​a-​days? I give the Seaside a full 5 stars all around and cannot wait until we get to return!!! In my opinion, if all you can do is complain about every aspect of your vacation; then just stay home or keep it to yourself.

A good friendly staff, great views, nice 1-​bedroom suite for $ 125. We had to change rooms because our door would not unlock with card key but otherwise no real issues. Standard-​issue breakfast included. Wonderful location and good value. Free WiFi was fine for us.

Saubere Zimmer, gute Lage (ca. 80m vom Wasser — es ist noch ein Restaurant dazwischen, aber vom 3. Stock stört das nicht).
Unser Zimmer war auch gross genug (King Size Bed /​Ocianview /​kein Balkon).
Genug Gratisparkplätze, teils in der Einstellhalle.
Frühstück war ganz ok.
Das Wifi hat immer gut funktioniert.

The hotel itself is very nice, the rooms are clean And the staff was great BUT the normal rooms are 200 sq ft and if you get one facing on the west side there isnt any thick drapes to block the sun only cheap blinds. So if you are woken up easily by bright lights I’d recommend getting a room facing the beach.

One of the few hotels on the island that allow dogs which is why we decided to stay here. There is a $ 50 nonrefundable dog fee. They accepted my great dane, even after I signed the 20 lb weight limit and other bullshit sheet. I love how on the «rules» sheet they list that if there are two complaints called in about you, you will be kicked out and your money wont be refunded. That’s all nice and well, but they almost force a dog to fail.
They put us in a room in which three of four walls is connected to the hotel lobby. The bed is directly next to the door which is about 10 feet away from the hotel lobby’s desk. The door and walls are not soundproof so you can hear every little noise. I got to listen to lobby conversations every night. that was delightful… and my dog barked every time we heard people talking right outside our bedroom. Destined to fail? I would say yes. I really enjoyed waking up at 6:30 am when they decided to vacuum the floor. We originally asked the front clerk if we could be switched to a quieter room, but apparently they only have 2 dog suites and the other was taken. I call bullshit.
Another issue is that you aren’t allowed to bring your dog through the lobby (right outside the front door) and the back door (the quickest way to get to the beach) doesn’t use a key card, it has a manual deadbolt which you can only lock from the inside, so to get to the beach you have to haul ass outside the front of your door and across the hall and walk all the way around the hotel. The only view in this little tiny suite was of a tiny dull swimming pool that gets no sunlight.
The hotel is «on» the beach, other than the large restaurant in front of it that truly is on the beach and blocks all views of sand and waves.
Like Lindsey said, the wifi blows, as does cell service. Pretty much all calls made from the hotel were dropped.
All in all I am glad I was at the beach, but I will never stay at this hotel again. Too big of a pain in the ass despite allowing my pup.

Clean place, good views, poor wifi service. Business owners vacationing should think twice. My hotspot would work here either. Had to work in the lobby every time as their wireless wasnt strong enough to reach the 3^rd floor. Wonderful staff at early morning. Great breakfast and easy parking.
