This book store made my Christmas Shopping experience of the year!
When I first moved to Amelia Isl. I ran across an amazing book titled ‘Amelia’s Secret’.
I fell in LOVE with the book & bragged to everyone who’d listen about it.
I didn’t want to part w my signed copy but also wanted to share it w others. I looked everywhere trying to find a local book store (She had relocated & Unilocal had not been updated w the new address yet). I couldn’t find a local book store or library!?!
I happened to see the book store sign on main 8^th street & couldn’t wait to stop in.
Since I was looking for a special historical book @ Amelia Isl & Fernandina Beach for my in-​laws Christmas presents & made it a point to get by ASAP.
When I entered it was like my own kind of special place, as I love all most any bookstores that are not large chains & in a pinch even those will do.
As I introduced myself & explained my story of finding ‘Amelia’s Secret’, how much I loved the book & spending months longing for a local bookstore — the woman smiled nicely and says:
«I wrote that book»
What! I couldn’t believe my luck! I was in AWE of meeting the author of a story that touched my heart & revealed so much historical background into a city I was in love with & falling deeper each day. She offered me the new follow up to the book & signed it, writing me a wonder message inside.
It reminded me why all the tedious holiday shopping was important — it’s the thought & effort put into it that makes each gift special. And the small special rewards yA receive for making that extra effort.
She also recommend several perfect options for the gifts I was searching for & future titles for me once I’ve read the newest edition to my beloved saga.
