McDonald’s

We had a great experience here tonight. With a lot of lower Fenton either closed early for the Holiday or because of flooding McDonald’s golden arches are beaming brightly. We were greeted warmly by the cashier. After taking our order I went to swipe my credit card when we all realized, the cashier included, that credit cards weren’t going through. More than likely from the area flooding interfering with the phone lines. I offered to go to the ATM next door, but she said it wasn’t neccessary. After trying a few more times she excused herself for a moment and then said they would take care of our meal today. I was really impressed. We were there to get a bite to eat before picking up my nephew from his first job and they took care of us when we didn’t have cash on us. I work in a guest first company and this was the best example I have seen in a very long time, especially from a fast food establishment. Kudos McDonalds!

We had a some time to kill before the wedding we had to attend at the church across the street and decided to get a cold drink on the hot day.
Big mistake!
Walk in and suddenly we get blasts of hot air on us. Turns out the AC was blowing hot air instead of cool air. We get in line and I ordered two teas. Instead of the big cups you’re supposed to get, we got the regular sized ones and before I could say something the lady walked away. We get our drinks and go to find a table. The back of the restaurant was infested with flies. They were all over the place, really nasty and dirty. Finally found a table on the other side of the establishment where we realized everyone else was sitting. One of the ladies asked me if I saw all the bugs and I replied yes and that it was a big turn off.
We tried sitting for a few minutes but everything above just made for a really unpleasant experience and I’m really glad we weren’t eating the food. I can’t eat food in an unclean place! I can honestly say that I will never do a quick stop here again as it was very unsanitary and not welcoming.

This McDonalds is a-​okay because they have 2— 24 hour drive up lanes. I was really impressed with the lady at the other end of the microphone because she was really dang pippy… I had to brace myself because I felt like I was listening to a cheer for a minute… It is really nice to have somebody that is actually pleasant… I didn’t take her up on her offer for the fish nuggets they are pushing right now but she did sway me into getting a bigger shake – after all it was 1.00 off for some reason.
The fries and shake were good but I don’t understand why lately I have gotten so many onions on my cheeseburger. I like all the condiments but they need to simmer down sometimes… I think I’m just going to have to start ordering plain and asking for the ketchup on the side…
